I just ran into this video, and i think all of this is because xc2 songs take some melodies from xc1 and incorporate them into their own songs. For instance the part of Weight of Life that is often attributed to xc2 counterattack (the one at the end of the release date trailer) also appears on xc1 Engage the Enemy.
Atleast it’s not a coincidence walking with you: being the missing gals from prior games fiora and pyra and mythra they’re in noahs blade and I guess desolation works too because of malos in the sword of the end
Also: call me crazy, but there's a motif in Tragic Decision that really reminds me of Consul Z's theme in both phases of the fight. Probably not intentional but it's very important to have these moments in the trilogy's OST
