I needed a little pick-me-up today, my mom and I are about to bring my puppy niece back to the lady my brother adopted her from 😔 my brother passed away unexpectedly earlier this month and unfortunately my mom is not able to take care of her all on her own and she's a big white German shepherd trapped in a small condo and she's never had the life she truly deserves of running around and having open space, thankfully this lady agreed to welcome her back with open arms and she'll be with her mother and her sisters so hopefully she'll adapt and she'll love being around a full pack. Even though we know this is what's best for her it's still hard for us so thank you for giving me something to take my mind off of things and as always putting a smile on my face!
I am deeepy deeply sorry for you and your moms loss. I lost my brother, going on almost 13 yrs ago, There will never be any words to express the pain, but know others empathize and you are not alone. I too watch makeup videos to kinda of zone out, I am surprised by the community around a few of these ladies. Its much more than makeup.
So sorry for your loss. Losing a brother is so hard because I always expected to be super old with mine. He was killed in 2004 when he was only 43, and I have all of his childhood clay projects around to remind me to be grateful that I had him at all. Doing what’s best for an animal is a generous act. Other sunset palettes really emphasize the warm tones, whereas this one gives you a couple pinks and oranges without being overwhelming. I like that you can mix and match different colors in Dusk without feeling like you’re repeating yourself. And it balances mattes and shimmers well. I got Dusk and Off Melrose this year. I think I use Melrose more often, but I get more variety from Dusk.
High Tide was one of my favourite makeup purchases of 2021. I've been wanting a teal palette for so long and they did it so well. I love pairing it with multichromes.

It would be really cool if you could do a video with some creative non-eye uses for pressed glitters. Not because you yourself are into glitters, but because you are such a proponent of protecting the eye area. If we could have some inspiration for safe ways to use this formula that seems to pop up fairly frequently. I just hate to see them go to waste.
Love that Lush Life came first! Colourpop REALLY dropped the ball on vegan palettes, especially towards the end of the year, but this one was vegan! I also love green, so it’s a favorite of mine as well! Lust for Dusk and High Tide were the other vegan options on your list, and I have those as well! I was HEARTBROKEN over Tinkerbelle and The Mandelorian palette not being vegan…especially since the color stories looked SO hopeful. (Celtics palette too) Orchid You Not Is SO GORGEOUS, but those rich purples screamed not going to be vegan. And Limoncello is just so pretty…. 😥

I completely agree with Lush Life being the number one palette! I fell in love with it the second I saw it advertised and was even more blown away when it arrived, it also jump started my love for colourpop and interest in eyeshadow palettes in general, love it so much!
Lush Life was the first full colourpop collection I've ever purchased. I love all of it & you're spot on when you say that it's got great neutrals with just enough colors to inspire you to push the boundary a little bit.
I’m so glad you mentioned High Tide! That was a palette that was released when I was still living abroad and didn’t want to buy enough for the free international shipping, so I bought it and had it shipped to my mom so I could have it once I moved home in late summer, I just thought it was THAT gorgeous and was terrified it would sell out and not return.
I had totally forgotten about the Lust for Dusk palette! CP moves way too fast for me to keep up. And I love, love the It's a Mood palette...finally a palette with a broad range of grungier colors that make it super interesting. I just wish I could magically turn those glitters into shimmers. I just purchased the lush life paette too-what a steal of a deal we got!! Then for mellow days I bought the wild nothing palette. I cannot wait to start playing with them.
I feel the same way about the Lush Life palette! One of my faves this year for sure, love the perfect combination of neutrals and rich colours. My other standout Colourpop palettes this year are Malibu Barbie, because I thought the quality was exceptional and it's just so fun to work with, I just wish it had a few more dark shades, and the Ballad 5-pan from the Lovestruck collection, my perfect cool-toned travel companion!

Normally purple is my fave too but, flannel, and the light pink shimmer in P.L.M. is a quick easy go to look that looks amazing on my brown complexion. I’ve bought so many palettes from Colourpop based on your recommendations. I never buy before I check out your video on the products. Edited to add I own six of the ten palettes. I used Orchid You Not for the first time today and it is absolutely gorgeous!! I don’t have Lust for Dusk, So Very Lovely, Sonic Bloom or the Mandalorian. I absolutely love the six I own. I also really enjoyed It’s Golden which I admittedly bought because of my last name.😂

I love that you’re getting another Colourpop sponsorship! Congratulations! I think my top CP palettes of the year are-surprisingly, as someone who loves larger palettes and variety-their quads! I bought several of the zodiac quads (the water signs trio) and adored them, and then for Christmas my mom gave me the vault of quads released on Cyber Monday. I cannot get over the quality, but also how well-curated each quad is! I love to play with makeup and color but the simplicity of these quads lets me focus on playing in other areas of my makeup routine because I know, once I’ve chosen a quad to use, what type of eye look I’m going to get, so I can play with cheek and lip pairings instead of always focusing on the eyes. I am shocked at myself for this realization, given that I also adore their mega palettes and 12-pans, but yeah, the quads are really my favorites of the year!

My favorite is the Nude Mood palette, it has my neutrals in a mini format, and I just love how easy I can create a look with it.

Yay I’m so happy you’re sponsored! The majority of my makeup is Colourpop too so I’m equally as excited for you. I enjoyed High Tide so much during summer and fall. I got so many compliments, one lady didn’t believe it was drugstore lol It’s a Mood is my top palette this year, I’ve been using it constantly. I told myself I wouldn’t get anymore mega palettes after this, but I got the Smoke N Roses for Christmas and I actually am excited to play with it. The Tinkerbell palette is AMAZING also easily in my top 5 too. Same with Limoncello. That was a late purchase for me but I’m surprised I used it so much in the summer. Easy spring/summer palette. Lush Life is also an easy summer/fall palette, I think it’s very slept on!

I have a lot of colourpop (for an average person lol) but I only bought 3 palettes this year club nebula, plain jane, and ninhydrin and im shocked looking back at the year how little makeup I bought but lush life definitely tempted me the most to buy some colourpop
My favorite ColourPop palettes this year were definitely Sprinkle a Little Magic, Lush Life, Malibu Barbie, and Limoncello (this one is surprising for me because I'm not a big fan of neutrals, but I love this one a ton because of the pops of yellow, green, and blue). If I had to pick a #1, I'd probably choose Malibu Barbie. I felt like the formula was fantastic, and I love the bright colors in it.
I bought x8 Colourpop palettes in 2021 but I've only had chance to use x5 of them this year (the other x3 are mega palettes that I bought recently when it was 50% off - It's A Mood, Play It Jewel & You're Golden). I agree about your number one choice. I just recently got my hands on it and I wore it today! That palette is going to become my most used palette along with California Love. Colourpop across the board is one of the best and consistent for eyeshadows. My only wish is that they'd stop releasing so many similarly colored neutral palettes though. Lush Life was the first full colourpop collection I've ever purchased. I love all of it & you're spot on when you say that it's got great neutrals with just enough colors to inspire you to push the boundary a little bit.

I’m so glad you mentioned High Tide! That was a palette that was released when I was still living abroad and didn’t want to buy enough for the free international shipping, so I bought it and had it shipped to my mom so I could have it once I moved home in late summer, I just thought it was THAT gorgeous and was terrified it would sell out and not return.
I had totally forgotten about the Lust for Dusk palette! CP moves way too fast for me to keep up. And I love, love the It's a Mood palette...finally a palette with a broad range of grungier colors that make it super interesting. I just wish I could magically turn those glitters into shimmers. Thanks for this great list, Amanda. Reminds me of some of my faves and a few I missed along the way!

Hi Amanda, I have been discovering Colourpop shadows on your recommendations and detailed videos. I have bought several and I'm especially loving the Limoncello and Going Coconuts palettes. I have been eyeing the Lush Life palette and it will definitely be my next purchase. I also want a versatile purple 💜 mix palette, which would you recommend most? I feel the same way about the Lush Life palette! One of my faves this year for sure, love the perfect combination of neutrals and rich colours. My other standout Colourpop palettes this year are Malibu Barbie, because I thought the quality was exceptional and it's just so fun to work with, I just wish it had a few more dark shades, and the Ballad 5-pan from the Lovestruck collection, my perfect cool-toned travel companion!

Normally purple is my fave too but, flannel, and the light pink shimmer in P.L.M. is a quick easy go to look that looks amazing on my brown complexion. I’ve bought so many palettes from Colourpop based on your recommendations. I never buy before I check out your video on the products. Edited to add I own six of the ten palettes. I used Orchid You Not for the first time today and it is absolutely gorgeous!! I don’t have Lust for Dusk, So Very Lovely, Sonic Bloom or the Mandalorian. I absolutely love the six I own. I also really enjoyed It’s Golden which I admittedly bought because of my last name.😂
Omg it was the bloopers for me. I love, love, love seeing all sides of a person. I'm pretty sure I found my newest person. Add to it your love of CP, purple, and large coffee cups and fear of the green!!! Hooked. 😁

I love that you’re getting another Colourpop sponsorship! Congratulations! I think my top CP palettes of the year are-surprisingly, as someone who loves larger palettes and variety-their quads! I bought several of the zodiac quads (the water signs trio) and adored them, and then for Christmas my mom gave me the vault of quads released on Cyber Monday. I cannot get over the quality, but also how well-curated each quad is! I love to play with makeup and color but the simplicity of these quads lets me focus on playing in other areas of my makeup routine because I know, once I’ve chosen a quad to use, what type of eye look I’m going to get, so I can play with cheek and lip pairings instead of always focusing on the eyes. I am shocked at myself for this realization, given that I also adore their mega palettes and 12-pans, but yeah, the quads are really my favorites of the year!

Glad for the sponsorship for you again. I agree with you about the Mandolorian palette, not a fan of Star Wars but I love the colors in this palette, the silver grays and the green are nice together. My favorite is the Nude Mood palette, it has my neutrals in a mini format, and I just love how easy I can create a look with it.

Yay I’m so happy you’re sponsored! The majority of my makeup is Colourpop too so I’m equally as excited for you. I enjoyed High Tide so much during summer and fall. I got so many compliments, one lady didn’t believe it was drugstore lol It’s a Mood is my top palette this year, I’ve been using it constantly. I told myself I wouldn’t get anymore mega palettes after this, but I got the Smoke N Roses for Christmas and I actually am excited to play with it.
The Tinkerbell palette is AMAZING also easily in my top 5 too. Same with Limoncello. That was a late purchase for me but I’m surprised I used it so much in the summer. Easy spring/summer palette. Lush Life is also an easy summer/fall palette, I think it’s very slept on!

I have a lot of colourpop (for an average person lol) but I only bought 3 palettes this year club nebula, plain jane, and ninhydrin and im shocked looking back at the year how little makeup I bought but lush life definitely tempted me the most to buy some colourpop

The Limoncello and Tinkerbell are still on my wishlist. I’ve been LOVING cool tones lately, so now I might have to add other that you shared.
My favorite ColourPop palettes this year were definitely Sprinkle a Little Magic, Lush Life, Malibu Barbie, and Limoncello (this one is surprising for me because I'm not a big fan of neutrals, but I love this one a ton because of the pops of yellow, green, and blue). If I had to pick a #1, I'd probably choose Malibu Barbie. I felt like the formula was fantastic, and I love the bright colors in it.
I bought x8 Colourpop palettes in 2021 but I've only had chance to use x5 of them this year (the other x3 are mega palettes that I bought recently when it was 50% off - It's A Mood, Play It Jewel & You're Golden).
I'm surprised by this small amount for me but I enjoyed all five I used so my ranking is from favourite to least favourite (but not flop).

I agree about your number one choice. I just recently got my hands on it and I wore it today! That palette is going to become my most used palette along with California Love. Colourpop across the board is one of the best and consistent for eyeshadows. My only wish is that they'd stop releasing so many similarly colored neutral palettes though.
