I have had several slow cookers but by far my favorite is the Greenpan. Everything comes out like it was cooked in a Dutch oven.. never over cooked and to do everything from browning, sautéing and slow cooking in one pot is a game changer and the easiest pot to clean in my kitchen.. definitely worth the splurge
I would steer clear of the aluminum nonstick inner pots. The nonstick will wear off. If you're going for this bottom heating style with inner pot, get a pressure cooker with decent slow cooker features with a stainless inner pot. There is a reason crock pot was designed with a ceramic stoneware inner pot, and side heating as well as bottom heating, and this was because of heat distribution. If you buy a deluxe slow cooker with nonstick liner, the nonstick lining will wear out quickly, and so isn't very useful anyways, whereas a stoneware crock pot will last seemingly forever. Also part of using a slow cooker is for the "set it and forget it" convenience, so I'm a bit confused as to why you'd need all these settings to program it. Just get a simple model, turn it on low, and go to work. Your food is ready when you get home. No need to make this more complex. If you have a dishwasher, the stoneware piece is bottom rack dishwasher safe, so there's also no reason to worry about trying to clean it either.
@@ValenciaRose. Probably any slow cooker with ceramic inner pot that is removable, has a low, high, and keep warm setting. I think anything else you're buying extra features you don't need. The beauty of the slow cooker is in it's simplicity, a pot, heating element, and settings knob. The best eight quart crock pot is one that you can get at the thrift store that works for $8

The crockpot casserole, which I have, does very well for several cornish hens and rice or dressing.
I am watching this to get a 6 Qt for travel. I also have the little mini Crockpot and a 4 Qt Crockpot. I am going to get the Hamilton Beach 6 Qt.

@@totoroben What brands have that in 8quart?
@@ValenciaRose. Hamilton Beach, crock pot, elite, nesco, there are quite a few. Looks like the price for basic model is around $40 new.
Yes. I have the #1 & will use it tomorrow. I also have the Ninja 8.5 PossibleCooker PRO Multi-Cooker & absolutely love it.
Used a slow cooker for Pork and saurcraut for New Years - German tradition!
Need reasonable priced slow cooker that sears or browns pre for 6qt
I'm confused, my crock pot just cracked in the bottom of the ceramic. I'm looking for a new one and I fund so many different models!
Sooo dóne with Crock products cheap elements on the bottom and lack of insulation regardless of model. Many better products out there.
