Personally, I think Islamophobia is a good word. There are many ex-Muslim apostates who are fearful of religious factions in their own communities. Even some people in the West are phobic about public transport after the terrible terrorist attacks. The word needs to be used accurately though and in context. It always gets dark with human beings when they spiritualise hatred.
It also conflates two separate terms or at least meanings of the same word - phobia - into one. Mostly phobia is used in its clinical sense - an extreme irrational fear or aversion of something. Like arachnophobia, agoraphobia, caulrophobia or my personal favourite - Anatidaephobia. However, If you're an Ex-Muslim or someone who criticized Islam or the Qur'an or Muhammad or made displeasing content about these subjects, then the fear - it is far from irrational. It is completely the opposite! If you thought that putting a caricature of Muhammad or making a satire about Qur'an in a public forum would not be met with a high degree of harassment and real life threats and a high probability of people trying to hurt you, now that would be irrational and very, very dangerous. Everything points to the opposite - you should fear what Islam will make people do when they believe they are "protecting" its honour.
@@FriendlyExmuslim Yes, I see why you don't like the word - it's a word that often gets misused and confused. My brother, I hope you realise what he asked for, and see what he got!
It becomes so complicated when you freaking get bloody on a drawing tell what practical harm has it done to Islam ? I agree you have the total right to react with anger but the destruction caused by jiahdis and islamic fnaitcs in and around the world is incomparable to the drawings of prophet muhammad . This is the hate speech from the Qur'an itself. It calls all who do not believe in Allah, especially Jews and Christians, as 'the worst of creatures'. So Islam teaches that all people who are not Muslims are worse than dogs and even worse creatures that you can think of. But if you have a friendly looking Muslim apologist you should not be deceived for they have commentaries themselves that say that they can smile at non-Muslims with their faces but are taught to curse them in their hearts. You should fight those empires around you or those governments around you, which are JEWS or CHRISTIANS, until they give the Jizya(non-muslim tax). The three options that they(jews and christians) are given: either you give the Jizya, or you do this(convert to Islam) or you do that(die). We are not apologetic about that point."^

@@IvanSensei88 why is he criticising people using freedom of speech? It's just stupid.
@@ypatel1070 Because freedom of speech is the freedom to criticize.
that's what I'm saying...
Its a bad word because it mixes up criticism of islam with anti-muslim bigotry. the latter is better
I've seen that too, where a fair critic of Islam and a bigot get tarred with the same brush so to speak. It seems to me that the word is increasingly being used as a slur, or a blanket term to describe anything, anyone chooses. I know you do your upmost to keep the language accurate and respectful.
