Honestly yeah the first couple of times they weren't clear in their explanations. But after the 5th or 6th time that Chilled went step by step in what to do when playing or receiving a +4, it really just showed how bad Smarty is at learning something and not forgetting it

Smarty is like a DND character that spent all of their points on luck and none on intelligence. No offense, I mean, I love the guy, but dang, it is painful to watch him making decisions more than just some of the time.

I actually played through New Vegas as Smarty, or at least I *tried* to, but you can't go at/below zero for intelligence so my character was WAY too smart. Though I did bust out laughing when I saw that because of the high luck stat Smarty could get the Miss Fortune perk which had a line that read quote: "she has the ability to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory"

And god felt bad for him so he made him win every Monopoly game as a gift.

Honestly, smarty not understanding the +4 doesn't really bother me. The thing that annoys me is when he jumps in on his own +4, or jumps in when it doesn't make sense, and his response is always "I just wanted to get rid of cards". They're useful, so getting rid of them doesn't make sense. Just admitting that you saw the jump in option and hit it without thinking would be much better. Ze does it all the time. And people would give you shit for it, but less shit.
Yeah my problem with smarty isnt him making dumb mistakes, its him never wanting to admit he made a dumb mistake, he always has an excuse

I feel like Smarty is some divine prank from some Loki-esque mischievous god, created for the sole purpose as a gargantuan middle finger to the concept of Darwinian evolution, science, and just basic logic and reason in general.
Okay at first I cut John some slack since I know not everyone plays with the Challenge Rule, but come on it's been months. I taught my 6-year-old cousin this game and he got it in like 10 minutes
The easiest way to explain the draw 4 rule is: if you had a card that you could have played, but instead chose to play the draw 4, if you get challenged, you will lose.
That's not completely true though. If you have the same number, but a different color, the challenge won't go through. If you have a normal wild card, but play the +4, the challenge won't go through. It's only the colour.
Also an important note for Smarty, the color you change it to doesn't matter. So he can stop changing it to a color he doesn't have(Like when he does at the end of the last game and letting Chilled win).

To people who keep screaming about Diction being worse than Smarty, this is why I like Diction better: He knows when he fucks up and is actually mad at himself, while Smarty tries to play it off as some brilliant secret strategy when it's not and everyone knows it's not.
That is a fair assessment of them both. Sure, Diction understands when he fucks up, but he doesn't need to throw a 2-minute tantrum over it; Just understand what you did wrong & make sure you don't make the same mistake twice. There's no need to scream over it.

Diction’s whines too much for me. Smarty at least accepts that he’s bad at games and is having fun regardless. I can’t hate on that.

Easy way to explain the +4 rule, just for Smarty. Look at the color of the card at the top of the pile when it's your turn. If it's a color you have but you play a +4 instead, someone can challenge you successfully. Simple as that. Don't think about numbers or wild cards - just color matters. This isn't a difficult concept. It was funny the first few times, but now it's more frustrating than anything.

Maybe just try to explain to smarty that the +4 is a last resort, that you are only allowed to use if you can’t play anything else and every time he forgets just shout “LAST RESORT”, maybe those two words will stick better
G H I bet he’s the type of driver who doesn’t really know the driving laws but just keeps doing what he’s been doing for the last few years and relies on experience. Like when you try to learn a language solely by talking to people with that native language instead of learning vocabulary and grammar rules, so you end up being able to speak that language extremely broken, one word at a time, but it’s good enough for you. That’s smarty.

In case people are confused, here is how the challenge rule works:
If you play a +4, if you don't have a card in your hand that matches THE COLOR of the top discarded, you are safe.
If someone challenges, they will see your hand, but because you didn't have the same color, they will get 6 cards
This is also allowed even if you have the same number of a different color or another draw four/Wild.
If you have the same color as the top discard and you play a plus four, if someone Challenges, you will get a plus four.
If you stack a plus four and you can play a card, the plus four you played will go to you, but I believe previously stacked plus fours still go to the player you attacked.

You should make a video of Smarty Failing, every time he’s messed up as kind of funny moments compilation. For example the video starts out with clips from the time you used the attack forcer on him, the time he friendly fired you in shellshock, stuff like that

Have anyone actually thought about Smarty being slighly colourblind? Maybe that's why he can't always understand how the card works and confuses the colours? Especially when those colours are stacked on one messy deck.
