Honda NC750X (2021 on) Quick Review

- Super quick Motorbike review of the Honda 750X 2021 onwards, I've owned a couple of NC750X 2016-2019 model year and my partner has had one of the 2021 on bikes, so I'm pretty used to thier good and bad points.

Commuter bike ?
I purchased a new one in 2022 for touring with full camping equipment and it is brilliant.
I have to agree about the suspension, I’ve changed the fork springs , the rear spring is adequate but no more, I might change that.
Do I miss the Ducati, the Tuono, the VFR 1200, no they did a specific job, but this bike is an unsung hero of a machine.
I also own a Street triple R, which is a great bike……but I keep using the NC, so I’m selling it.
I toured on my 2016 & 2019 NCs, so agree they are capable of that type of work, but for me the difference in the suspension is significant enough to rule it out for the 2021 model….unless you make the sort of changes you have :)
Nice review, but I disagree this is only a commuter bike, I own one and changed the vindscreen with an after market wider and higer one, it is fantastic for travellng, at least this is my opinion. At 4000 rpm you are travelling at 135 km/h, no effort for the motor, you can go on for hours
I did start the video with saying it’s PRIMARILY a commuter bike - and did then talk a lot about how it performs for commuting, but this is because it’s used so much in that way.
However I do also agree with you on it being capable of more, especially with a change of screen. Between myself and my partner we have had 2016, 2019 & 2021 models and covered over 10,000 miles of touring on them. Personally I think the previous generation 750x is better suited to touring as its suspension is a little more compliant, but wouldn’t disagree that they are very capable in this regard. I especially found the frunk useful for carrying my chain as it keep the weight secure and low.
Most 750Xs will rarely see this type of use though :(
Loving mine. The only issue i have is the seat after say 100 miles. I have had it padded out which has helped but Honda should sort this out as for me it is the only weak point. I must add that other NC750X owners I have talked to do not have this issue,so might just be my boney butt lol.
Had the same issue with ours…didn’t find a solution :(
One thing I didn’t hear you say but I think is very important; this bike, (to me) is very comfortable and has a very accessible seat height.
Otherwise thank you for the quick review. I have rented this bike for a day (the DCT version) and I am absolutely sold on it. Never thought I’d like an automatic transmission motorcycle that much.
I’ve ridden multiple DCT bikes and love the gearboxes. I’ve now covered over 55000 miles across 4 different DCT bike! I’m sure you’ll love it if you get one.
Re the seat, it’s something that divides opinion. My other half had a post 21 NC and found the seat uncomfortable, but when I rode it and rode the one I used for the review I got on really well with it, plus online comments appear to reflect this divide in opinion.
Seat higher is good though you are right, I’m 5’9” and can flat foot easily.
You are also right that I should have commented on seat height and feel in the video! Afraid I’m only an amateur and still learning 😀

My only bug bear is the absolute awful bolt,screw whatever they are that hold the battery cover….I had a mixture and caused me huge issues…absolute pig to take off…I have now attached Velcro to the cover and inside the frunk……works for me now…I have the DCT version….a joy to ride…got some goodies too…I bought my bike with my head and heart though, returning to riding after 43 years…nasty crash on my LC250 hit by a drunk driver…I ended up rather broken….hence why I ride a DCT, my wrists are weak…..as I say I love my bike, it ticks all the boxes, of course we all have a wish list of extras, but this adds to the cost….so yeah….a brilliant bike…never going to change it………..unless a shaft drive version comes along hehe…
@karlhoward2737 couldn’t agree more about the battery cover, I lost the fastenings a couple of times and kept spares as a result.
I have had Quick and I have had Tall and heavy (Motorcycles 😉). Then I had a NC750X. I miss it more than all the others. The frunk Is genius, now copied by £20000 + E motorcycles. For the everyday road, ride it all day, for the weekend, Rev it and have fun. Not 150MPH fun but where you gonna' find that for 8 grand new? And service it yourself with a Halfords tool kit... Boring? £500 annual service and not starting on cold mornings, that's Boring.
Didn’t think I called it boring, (did I?) I think it’s very interesting and actually quite fun to ride, but you have to be on a very different path to that most people take when choosing a bike to go out and buy it and I’d argue most people choose with their head then fall in love with afterwards.

Thanks, didn’t take it personally 😄 agree with you about the wider attitude about bhp, bhp isn’t everything at all. The next bike I’m reviewing is the BMW 310R, chose to do that over the GS and I’m really excited to try it out 😄
I traded in my Honda Rebel 1100 for this bike mostly due to my height. I looked like a clown on the Rebel! It took a while to get used to the lack of power compared to the Rebel, but since I use my bike for commuting and running errands on the weekends, I'm satisfied with the trade!
I went from an NC to a Africa Twin then back again, I know what you mean about the power difference but I also found the NC more flickable

Well I have just bought a nc750s which is 6 years old and has 4000 miles on but it came with the full original honda luggage and the honda heated grips so for £3800 or £2800 after trade in I think it's a cracking deal 😊
Does sound good, never ridden the S and would be interested in how the more road focused suspension is on that..the suspension is the biggest problem for me on the latest X but was fine on pre 2021 bikes.
