The video was released on NHL.com and if it was in fact rigged why wouldn't it go to a struggling financial franchise like Arizona, or even hockey media powerhouse Toronto to save the franchise. I like how Edmonton wasn't trying to tank. They legit tried winning games and lost because of Eakins stupid system for the first half of the season. Under Nelson they improved substantially and looked like they were giving it their all. Arizona and Buffalo sold all assets to try and land the number one pick. Oh and then Buffalo fired Nolan after all is said and done after giving him nothing to win with. Hockey Gods exists, and they are punishing Buffalo and Arizona and rewarding a team whose fans deserve it. Maybe to some the team doesn't deserve McDavid, but us Oiler fans who have gone through everything with this team the last 9 seasons deserve this!
Coyotes did tank but in all honesty we need a superstar like Mcdavid/Eichel, Oel is Amazing but he can't carry out team by himself. Played with Austin Matthews in Arizona while he was playing AAA hockey. He is seriously a special player. Awesome off the ice attitude and just a pure goal scorer. Who ever drafts him next year is lucky.
Montreal needs a RW more than a C. They have Galchenyuk, De La Rose as their future 1 & 2 but they also have Plekanec, Desharnais and Eller for right now. As a Habs fan I want to see the Canadiens go aggressively after Eberle or Yakupov. Eberle because of his level of talent. And Yakupov because he and Galchenyuk killed the OHL together and maybe he could shine on a team with structure. For either of these players I personally would give up Fucale (Memorial Cup, 2x World JR gold), Jarred Tinordi or Alexi Emelin (Big Hard hitting DMen) and a 2nd or 3rd rounder. That's fair if you ask me. I would like to hear what the rest of you have to say about these possibilities?

I could see a huge blockbuster happening between Edmonton and Boston this offseason. Pieces involved would be Lucic + Subban going to Edmonton for Eberle. Obviously more picks/prospects or even roster players to finalize everything, but it would make sense for both teams. Boston needs a scoring RW - done. Edmonton needs a guy who should be able to step in and become their franchise goalie of the future - done. As you mentioned later in the video Edmonton could bring in a big PWF winger to protect the young guns (and they have expressed interest in Lucic in the past) - done. Edmonton's top 6 would look something like: Hall - RNH - Purcell Lucic - McDavid - Yakupov And you never know... They might be able to pull Reilly Smith out of Boston as well to throw into the top 6 mix but it would probably cost them a guy like Marincin or Klefbom to get this mammoth of a deal done. Not exactly realistic, but when a shakeup is needed for 2 franchises and they have the pieces desired by the other team you can't really rule it out I guess?

The Oilers need to get a goalie for the future and as a Caps fan, I think Philipp Grubauer would be a good pick up for them. He's only 23 years old and had success over the month or so that he played in the NHL last year, not to mention winning the Memorial Cup as a member of the Windsor Spitfires in his junior days. With Holtby playing as well as he did this year, I can't see him being a part of the Caps future and it was rumored that the Caps were interested in Jordan Eberle at the trade deadline, so he could be a part of a potential Eberle deal.

Don't know if you saw this or not, but until the last ball was drawn, the leafs actually had the best odds at McDavid. The balls picked were 5-14-6 and the leafs needed a 7 as the last number to win the lottery. At this point there were four 7's left while the other teams had either 3 or 2 of their numbers left. Firstly, Marner is a winger. Pure and simple. Second, the Oilers have Marincin, Klefbom, Nurse, Gernat, Schultz etc on D for prospects. They just need them to develop. Thirdly, DO NOT trade Draisaitl. Getting a big offensive center in the NHL is nearly impossible and having a top 3 C core of Nuge, McDavid, Draisaitl would be ideal. The only thing you hit on perfectly was the need for a blue chip goalie prospect.

I am from Buffalo and still live in Buffalo...trust me we are so happy to have Eichel on our team. We knew that we were most likely gonna lose the lottery and we were preparing to get Eichel.
Eichel is in college.. mcdavid is 17 years old, he's already 6,1 190, Mcdavid isn't anything like crosby! He just gets compared to him because there is no one else to compare him too lol.
Finally someone I agree with. A lot of people don't understand that in college hockey you get to work out more because you only play a maximum of 45 games or so. While mcdavid is still playing hockey, he can't work on his strength and endurance as much as Eichel. I think will be a toews like player but score at a point per game pace. People think Mcdavid is 10x better than Eichel. Eichel, in my opinion, is as good or maybe a little better because he played against older competition who had time to get stronger. I am a Red wing fan by the way.
Johnny. As an Oilers fan, I can't see how we can trade a guy like Eberle. He lead our team in points and is an outstanding player. I see us moving Drisaitl for a goalie. But on defense Nurse should be able to handle a bigger load. Look what he did in world juniors. He was outstanding. So keep him and see what offers come to us from other teams. Edmonton should trade the pick to grab a defenceman and in that trade they get a defenceman or goalie. Say it was to Toronto, Toronto would send their First, Phaneuf, and Kadri, maybe one of the goalies. Edmonton would send the First (McDavid) which would fix Toronto on the front end and they dump Phaneufs contract.

As someone who has watched the Oilers for over a decade,has been a fan since I could remember and lives in Edmonton I believe MacT will make trades to improve their goaltending and a defence this offseason. Going into the draft we have 2 1st rounders, 2 2nd rounders(possibly 3), 2 3rd round picks(possibly 3), 1 fourth(possibly 2) and 2 fifths(The possible ones all depends on how Montreal does in the playoffs) so looking at this we have the assets available to make a trade. Plus now with the very likely addition of mcdavid Edmonton is a place where free agents make consider a lot more now with the core we have. Any true Oilers fan would know Nuge/Hall are not going anywhere and this summer yak and ebs aren't either. I don't believe a huge trade like sending out one of our young talents will happen for another 1-2 years. Defence is a bit different and hopefully we can buyout or move nikitin/ference. Future forward lines are looking like this: Pouliot-Nuge-Ebs Hall-McDavid-Yak Lander/Roy-Lander/Roy-Purcell Hendricks-Gordon-Pitlick

As an Oilers fan, Connor McDavid is an exceptional player that will become a superstar who dominates all over the league, though i don't really think that Connor would fit on the Oilers. Its opens up many questions like: (From an Oiler fan's standpoint) Who do we trade now? Who do we sign in the offseason? What do we do with Pittsburgh's 1st? What will happen to Derek Roy? What will happen to our prospects like Greg Chase, Leon Draisaitl, etc. We should trade someone in our top six but Mctavish is too stubborn to trade anyone There also comes a problem with centres on the team. Nuge, Draisaitl, and Now McDavid? It's either we trade one of them, or trade one of our wingers so that McDavid can play the wing. And if we pick McDavid, Roy is probably going to be outta a job, unless we send down McDavid down to Juniors again, which probably won't happen. Roy and Yakupov had some good chemistry together and Roy helped Yakupov grow and get points this season. He essentially sparked Yakupov. I'd trade McDavid to Toronto, cause Toronto really wants him. It makes sense because Toronto is on the brink of a rebuild and it will just bolster their roster. It's just a better hockey market than Edmonton. I disagree. I think they have done so bad that they should trade Nugent-Hopkins and Yakapov away for a star defenceman, goalie, and a veteran scoring winger. Then have the first line be Hall - McDavid - Eberle/the veteran scorer. Draisaitl being the 2nd line centre. The defense would be comprised of the star you pick up, Nurse, Ference (just for a veteran presence), and maybe you keep schultz (or trade him). I do however agree that almost all management should go. I love Kevin Lowe but he needs to stay away from the front office! It will be very interesting to see what happens.

Anyone who thinks the Draft Lottery was fixed last night is insane and doesn't know hockey. Buffalo is NBC sports biggest television market and in the Eastern Conference where the biggest teams get all the media attention, Arizona is a team Bettman and the NHL have been pumping their own MILLIONS into to try and salvage for years and having McDavid there probably would've got even the most casual fans into that building every night. Edmonton is a small market, Western Conference team. Our media? Sportsnet West. 3 provinces in canada don't get blacked out for our games, and no one in the US can see us without NHL centre ice. By the time the Oilers are playing it's 10pm in the East, the biggest NHL audience is going to bed. The NHL will lose so much potential income from McDavid going to Edmonton it's crazy. They would NEVER rig it in Edmonton's favor, or a Canadian teams favor for that matter. Bettman and his American NHL executives are ripping their hair out as much as every other fanbase right now.
I don't think the caps would trade bowey because they might not have enough cap space to sign green for next year so he might get the nod either the 15-16 season or just sign someone for one season to develop bowey for an extra year
As a life long Oilers fan I am obviously very excited about this. I think the best part of this (other than McDavid coming to Edmonton of course) is that a) this allows MacTavish to pull a trade or two without it being the end of the world, like you said either Eberle or Leon. But the second major thing I think it does is it may make big name free agents think twice about not going to the Oilers. This may make some guys be more willing to sign or waive their NTC to come here. I think this is a real win for the loyal fans who have stuck through these 9 years of hell, but this really is going to put MacT on the hot seat. He can not mess this up for us now. A guy like McDavid is a generational guy, NO MORE EXCUSES MACTAVISH!!
I'm a Sabres fan & once it showed Edmonton win the first pick yet again I called bullshit. Connor McDavid might as well retire now because his NHL career is over before it begins. It's a damn shame (and some possible shady bs to boot) that the Sabres miss out for the 1st pick for the 2nd year in a row. We welcome Eichel with open arms to our team, but like our GM Tim Murray said, "You always want to pick first." So even though we really wanted McDavid, Eichel will be a huge addition to the Sabres and we also have a group of amazing prospects that we'll be building around to get this team back on track. One thing's for sure, though: The NHL Draft needs to be completely changed, the way it's set up now is just ridiculous.

We have a future goalie...his name is Laurent Brossoit. Honestly we have a core of young Dmen coming up (Marincin, Klefbom, Nurse, Schultz, idk maybe add Gernat, Musil, Simpson) like we have d coming up. It's the goalie situation that needs to be addressed now. Do we go for a Niemi this offseason? I like Scriven but he's no starter, too many weak goals. I don't want an elite goalie like Price, that would be nice, but I want a good goalie that can help rob us some games. Lander is probably going to get traded and if you package him up with let's say our other first round pick we have from Pitt we can probably get a goalie. Honestly look at Ottawa they have 3 good goalies in their system. I'm not saying they want lander but we can work something out. But I rather keep all my young guys. McDavid, Nuge, and Drasital down the middle for years to come that's nasty. Pitt had 3 good centres down the middle we have that opportunity now. McDavid, in my opinion, couldn't ask for better wingers coming in the nhl. Both hall and eberle or Yak that's a good cast for him. That's my opinion on this.
As a fan I think the oilers need a goalie in his prime. You can call it the mcdavid era if you want, but eberle nuge and hall are in their prime already and in my opinion with a solid starting goalie and a top 2 dman those 3 can lead us to the playoffs even in mcdavids rookie year

Johnny as a long time Oilers fan I will say that although the incompetent management definitely doesn't deserve McDavid, the fans do. After 9 years of embarrassing hockey out of the playoffs, it looks like we might have finally found a way out. As far as addressing needs to make the Oilers a better team, MacTavish publicly said that next year was going to be another development year, but that was before the lottery. I'm really hoping that he makes some trades to address the glaring holes in defense and in net. You mentioned Subban and Fucale, but they're still prospects. The Oilers new arena will be ready in 2 years and that should be the target for when they push for the playoffs. If the Rangers were shipping talbot around I'd knock on that door, and if MacT could pull off some Islanders magic and get a deal similar to the Boychuck/Leddy deals that would be better than another prospect. They already have Nurse, Klefbom and Marincin as prospects, but they need some real defensemen who can play now.
We destroy prospects? Really? Taylor Hall is widely considered one of the best left wingers in the league. Jordan Eberle is a 3-time 20 goal scorer. Ryan Nugent-Hopkins took MAJOR steps forward this season and looks like he could be a very good 2-way centre. The problem is that they have no one around them. The team is way to young with not enough impact veterans at both ends of the ice. Get them 2 legit top NHL defence man and an NHL goaltender that is capable, and watch them take off. Go get it done MacT... Also Johnny... Why would we want a goaltender like Subban or Fucale who won't be ready for 4-5 years?

One thing people don't get about Edmonton's management is that players often leave for nothing and the management can't do anything about it. The model in Edmonton is to draft players then develop them and as soon as they are finally good they want to leave. The management is lucky if they can get something for them at all and the players don't make it easy for them. The draft picks do help though
I love the fact that we got McDavid. Here is the thing in the D core we got Nurse, and Schultz. I also like Klefbom I think he is going be a Top 4 D man one day. I can see Winnipeg gets one of those wingers. Stafford was good but he's our second line left wing, now he's UFA. Winnipeg has 4 potential starting goaltenders (now and future)in Pavelec, Hutchinson, Hellebuyck and Comrie. Jets can afford to deal one of these goalies for some offence.
What we need to to is trade for Cam Talbot. How sweet would it be to actually have a legit #1 goalie for the first time since Roloson. And not for a big price either, most being Draisaitl or Eberle which we can allow considering we now have the next Crosby.

Edmonton needs a goalie. I say they get Cam Talbot from the Rangers. The kid can definitely be a starter and he is 27 which is a pretty good age. IMO the oilers will not trade any of the core players they have this year. I believe however, that they will package together marincin and some of their other picks for an actual top 4 defenceman (hopefully top 2 but very unlikely.) I think they'll also try to snag Craig Anderson. He's the perfect age to fill the void in net until Brossiot is completely ready. The oilers will not make the playoffs next year but you will see a vast improvement.

And Yakupov because he and Galchenyuk killed the OHL together and maybe he could shine on a team with structure. I could see a huge blockbuster happening between Edmonton and Boston this offseason. Pieces involved would be Lucic + Subban going to Edmonton for Eberle. Obviously more picks/prospects or even roster players to finalize everything, but it would make sense for both teams. Boston needs a scoring RW - done. Edmonton needs a guy who should be able to step in and become their franchise goalie of the future - done. As you mentioned later in the video Edmonton could bring in a big PWF winger to protect the young guns (and they have expressed interest in Lucic in the past) - done.
Edmonton's top 6 would look something like:
Hall - RNH - Purcell
Lucic - McDavid - Yakupov
And you never know... They might be able to pull Reilly Smith out of Boston as well to throw into the top 6 mix but it would probably cost them a guy like Marincin or Klefbom to get this mammoth of a deal done. The Oilers need to get a goalie for the future and as a Caps fan, I think Philipp Grubauer would be a good pick up for them. He's only 23 years old and had success over the month or so that he played in the NHL last year, not to mention winning the Memorial Cup as a member of the Windsor Spitfires in his junior days. With Holtby playing as well as he did this year, I can't see him being a part of the Caps future and it was rumored that the Caps were interested in Jordan Eberle at the trade deadline, so he could be a part of a potential Eberle deal.

Don't know if you saw this or not, but until the last ball was drawn, the leafs actually had the best odds at McDavid.
The balls picked were 5-14-6 and the leafs needed a 7 as the last number to win the lottery. At this point there were four 7's left while the other teams had either 3 or 2 of their numbers left.

Finally someone I agree with. A lot of people don't understand that in college hockey you get to work out more because you only play a maximum of 45 games or so. While mcdavid is still playing hockey, he can't work on his strength and endurance as much as Eichel. I think will be a toews like player but score at a point per game pace. People think Mcdavid is 10x better than Eichel. Eichel, in my opinion, is as good or maybe a little better because he played against older competition who had time to get stronger.

But on defense Nurse should be able to handle a bigger load. Look what he did in world juniors. He was outstanding. So keep him and see what offers come to us from other teams. Edmonton should trade the pick to grab a defenceman and in that trade they get a defenceman or goalie. Say it was to Toronto, Toronto would send their First, Phaneuf, and Kadri, maybe one of the goalies. Edmonton would send the First (McDavid) which would fix Toronto on the front end and they dump Phaneufs contract.

As someone who has watched the Oilers for over a decade,has been a fan since I could remember and lives in Edmonton I believe MacT will make trades to improve their goaltending and a defence this offseason. Going into the draft we have 2 1st rounders, 2 2nd rounders(possibly 3), 2 3rd round picks(possibly 3), 1 fourth(possibly 2) and 2 fifths(The possible ones all depends on how Montreal does in the playoffs) so looking at this we have the assets available to make a trade. Plus now with the very likely addition of mcdavid Edmonton is a place where free agents make consider a lot more now with the core we have. Any true Oilers fan would know Nuge/Hall are not going anywhere and this summer yak and ebs aren't either. I don't believe a huge trade like sending out one of our young talents will happen for another 1-2 years. Defence is a bit different and hopefully we can buyout or move nikitin/ference. Future forward lines are looking like this:

Hall-McDavid-Yak

As an Oilers fan, Connor McDavid is an exceptional player that will become a superstar who dominates all over the league, though i don't really think that Connor would fit on the Oilers.
Its opens up many questions like:

What do we do with Pittsburgh's 1st?
What will happen to Derek Roy?

Nuge, Draisaitl, and Now McDavid? It's either we trade one of them, or trade one of our wingers so that McDavid can play the wing.
And if we pick McDavid, Roy is probably going to be outta a job, unless we send down McDavid down to Juniors again, which probably won't happen. Roy and Yakupov had some good chemistry together and Roy helped Yakupov grow and get points this season. He essentially sparked Yakupov.
I'd trade McDavid to Toronto, cause Toronto really wants him. It makes sense because Toronto is on the brink of a rebuild and it will just bolster their roster. It's just a better hockey market than Edmonton.

I disagree. I think they have done so bad that they should trade Nugent-Hopkins and Yakapov away for a star defenceman, goalie, and a veteran scoring winger. Then have the first line be Hall - McDavid - Eberle/the veteran scorer. Draisaitl being the 2nd line centre. The defense would be comprised of the star you pick up, Nurse, Ference (just for a veteran presence), and maybe you keep schultz (or trade him). I do however agree that almost all management should go. I love Kevin Lowe but he needs to stay away from the front office! It will be very interesting to see what happens.
Oscar Klefbom has the potential to be a future #1 defenseman.

He isn't there yet but the guy was the only real defenseman on the team for the later half of the season. Given a couple years he will be at minimum a solid 2nd line guy.
Anyone who thinks the Draft Lottery was fixed last night is insane and doesn't know hockey. Buffalo is NBC sports biggest television market and in the Eastern Conference where the biggest teams get all the media attention, Arizona is a team Bettman and the NHL have been pumping their own MILLIONS into to try and salvage for years and having McDavid there probably would've got even the most casual fans into that building every night. Edmonton is a small market, Western Conference team. Our media? Sportsnet West. 3 provinces in canada don't get blacked out for our games, and no one in the US can see us without NHL centre ice. By the time the Oilers are playing it's 10pm in the East, the biggest NHL audience is going to bed. The NHL will lose so much potential income from McDavid going to Edmonton it's crazy. They would NEVER rig it in Edmonton's favor, or a Canadian teams favor for that matter. Bettman and his American NHL executives are ripping their hair out as much as every other fanbase right now.

I don't think the caps would trade bowey because they might not have enough cap space to sign green for next year so he might get the nod either the 15-16 season or just sign someone for one season to develop bowey for an extra year
As a life long Oilers fan I am obviously very excited about this. I think the best part of this (other than McDavid coming to Edmonton of course) is that a) this allows MacTavish to pull a trade or two without it being the end of the world, like you said either Eberle or Leon. But the second major thing I think it does is it may make big name free agents think twice about not going to the Oilers. This may make some guys be more willing to sign or waive their NTC to come here. I think this is a real win for the loyal fans who have stuck through these 9 years of hell, but this really is going to put MacT on the hot seat. He can not mess this up for us now. A guy like McDavid is a generational guy, NO MORE EXCUSES MACTAVISH!!
I'm a Sabres fan & once it showed Edmonton win the first pick yet again I called bullshit. Connor McDavid might as well retire now because his NHL career is over before it begins. It's a damn shame (and some possible shady bs to boot) that the Sabres miss out for the 1st pick for the 2nd year in a row. We welcome Eichel with open arms to our team, but like our GM Tim Murray said, "You always want to pick first." So even though we really wanted McDavid, Eichel will be a huge addition to the Sabres and we also have a group of amazing prospects that we'll be building around to get this team back on track. One thing's for sure, though: The NHL Draft needs to be completely changed, the way it's set up now is just ridiculous.
id like to see nuge go hes a first overall pick who shouldnt be playing second line on this team. I think moving him for a really great defender would be ideal but who could that be? any suggestions? I'm thinking maybe a guy like Quincey from detroit along with something else or maybe someone like Karl Alzner from washington, both of these teams need consistent secondary scoring so nuge might fit in well.
How about Cam Talbot? He's only 27 and he was so good for the rangers when hank was hurt. Maybe Eberle and Scrivens for Talbot and a rangers pick/prospect (maybe Conner Allen or Dylan Mcilrath)
We have a future goalie...his name is Laurent Brossoit. Honestly we have a core of young Dmen coming up (Marincin, Klefbom, Nurse, Schultz, idk maybe add Gernat, Musil, Simpson) like we have d coming up. It's the goalie situation that needs to be addressed now. Do we go for a Niemi this offseason? I like Scriven but he's no starter, too many weak goals. I don't want an elite goalie like Price, that would be nice, but I want a good goalie that can help rob us some games. Lander is probably going to get traded and if you package him up with let's say our other first round pick we have from Pitt we can probably get a goalie. Honestly look at Ottawa they have 3 good goalies in their system. I'm not saying they want lander but we can work something out. But I rather keep all my young guys. McDavid, Nuge, and Drasital down the middle for years to come that's nasty. Pitt had 3 good centres down the middle we have that opportunity now. McDavid, in my opinion, couldn't ask for better wingers coming in the nhl. Both hall and eberle or Yak that's a good cast for him. That's my opinion on this.

As a fan I think the oilers need a goalie in his prime. You can call it the mcdavid era if you want, but eberle nuge and hall are in their prime already and in my opinion with a solid starting goalie and a top 2 dman those 3 can lead us to the playoffs even in mcdavids rookie year

I am(was) a die hard hockey fan but honestly, this draft lottery pushed me over the edge and has changed my opinion on hockey. There is too much politics overall like the lockouts, draft lottery and other shit. I am giving up on hockey until it fixes it's shit which I don't see anytime soon. Does anyone else agree? Opinions? Johnny as a long time Oilers fan I will say that although the incompetent management definitely doesn't deserve McDavid, the fans do. After 9 years of embarrassing hockey out of the playoffs, it looks like we might have finally found a way out. As far as addressing needs to make the Oilers a better team, MacTavish publicly said that next year was going to be another development year, but that was before the lottery. I'm really hoping that he makes some trades to address the glaring holes in defense and in net. You mentioned Subban and Fucale, but they're still prospects. The Oilers new arena will be ready in 2 years and that should be the target for when they push for the playoffs. If the Rangers were shipping talbot around I'd knock on that door, and if MacT could pull off some Islanders magic and get a deal similar to the Boychuck/Leddy deals that would be better than another prospect. They already have Nurse, Klefbom and Marincin as prospects, but they need some real defensemen who can play now.

We destroy prospects? Really? Taylor Hall is widely considered one of the best left wingers in the league. Jordan Eberle is a 3-time 20 goal scorer. Ryan Nugent-Hopkins took MAJOR steps forward this season and looks like he could be a very good 2-way centre. The problem is that they have no one around them. The team is way to young with not enough impact veterans at both ends of the ice. Get them 2 legit top NHL defence man and an NHL goaltender that is capable, and watch them take off. Go get it done MacT...
Also Johnny... Why would we want a goaltender like Subban or Fucale who won't be ready for 4-5 years?

One thing people don't get about Edmonton's management is that players often leave for nothing and the management can't do anything about it. The model in Edmonton is to draft players then develop them and as soon as they are finally good they want to leave. The management is lucky if they can get something for them at all and the players don't make it easy for them. The draft picks do help though
I love the fact that we got McDavid. Here is the thing in the D core we got Nurse, and Schultz. I also like Klefbom I think he is going be a Top 4 D man one day. I also like Scrivens he will get you through the season most likely if he is hot he will play awesome. But we gotta trade someone. Not sure who but we gotta get a stay at home Dman.

I can see Winnipeg gets one of those wingers. Stafford was good but he's our second line left wing, now he's UFA. Winnipeg has 4 potential starting goaltenders (now and future)in Pavelec, Hutchinson, Hellebuyck and Comrie. Jets can afford to deal one of these goalies for some offence.
What we need to to is trade for Cam Talbot. How sweet would it be to actually have a legit #1 goalie for the first time since Roloson. And not for a big price either, most being Draisaitl or Eberle which we can allow considering we now have the next Crosby.

Edmonton needs a goalie. I say they get Cam Talbot from the Rangers. The kid can definitely be a starter and he is 27 which is a pretty good age. Plus Rangers do not have a first this year so the Oiler could trade the first they got from Pittsburgh to them for Talbot. It would not only help Edmonton but it would help the Rangers as well.

IMO the oilers will not trade any of the core players they have this year. I believe however, that they will package together marincin and some of their other picks for an actual top 4 defenceman (hopefully top 2 but very unlikely.) I think they'll also try to snag Craig Anderson. He's the perfect age to fill the void in net until Brossiot is completely ready. The oilers will not make the playoffs next year but you will see a vast improvement.
