    What do you guys think of my new commuting route I found? BTW, the dogs are at the very end ;)

      Thanks for the heads up Cruise, Ive been attacked by a few too many dogs whilst riding over the years, its left me a bit edgy, BTW with watching your video's and getting a bit better health wise and wanting to please my wife I went for my first bike rides in about a year this weekend, Our tandem got a bit of a run, also I'm determined to take my Birdy out for a decent ride this week. Cheers

      Me too, but fortunately most dogs are really small in Japan. When I lived in Kentucky there were a lot of dangerous wild dogs though..
      That's awesome, way to get back out there!

      What tires do you run? Cyclocross or something else? Come back to Michigan, those potholes aren't so bad. I only commute, if I had 5000 usd to spend on a commuter it would probably be the Priority 600.
      Belt drive with plenty of gears for my old legs.

      そのルートの前半は超怖いい見たいい。I'm still getting over my fear of riding along cars. The other half with the view looks awesome. And dogs... I like dogs, but they can be either too aggressive or too friendly, especially when you're on a bike.

    Just stopped by to say thanks, your vids, has inspired me to start commuting to work. I commute on a trek 26" mtb, not the lights or fastest but it gets me to work in an hour. which is 25km oneway.

    You're a real bike commuter now. I rarely cleaned my bike when I commuted for 12 years. Makes no sense since it gets dirty every commute. I would just wipe down and relube the chain after a wet ride. Each piece of dirt on my commuter was a ' badge of honor!'

    Greetings from Hawaii. Your new commute is certainly adventurous. Taking the slightly rougher, longer way to avoid stoplights and traffic totally makes sense to me. Until communities "copenhagenize" - giving preference to bicycle traffic - it's the way to go.
    I found myself replying "Get fenders!" every time you mentioned getting sprayed from water and mud on the ground. I grew up in Germany where all but the "sporty" bikes come standard with lights and fenders. I retrofitted all my US bikes for very little $. The only time the extra weight might be an issue would be during a race

    • @TwoWheelCruise
      @TwoWheelCruise  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Cheers! I grew up never really seeing fenders anywhere, but I've quickly realized their value in my commutes this year. I've only got a rear guard on for now, but would love to have my next commuter bike setup with a real fender set.

I like them very much, while others are racing there new $7000 bikes with no mention of what they do for a living, makes me wonder how they can afford them. Your videos are fresh, different, life as a cyclist in Japan. I love the paths you use to work, wish I had them here in the states. Great way to get to work. Please keep the videos coming. Those dogs seem really well mannered! The dogs here are always looking for some excuse to chase down cyclists 😂 I get really nervous riding through puddles coz I don't know if it's just a flooded section or some deep pothole. And since both of my road bikes have rim brakes, that means spongy braking with weird sounds for the remainder of the ride 😒It's also rainy season here in India now and I have to clean my bike again today after I reach home. I'd just cleaned it last Thursday! 😟

    We don’t really have a specific rainy season. It’s just sporadic throughout the year. Some months are statistically a bit worse but it doesn’t feel that much different. But now with the climate changing so fast, who knows what will happen in the coming years.
    I’ve been watching the NHK weather updates and western Japan in particular has been pounded by record downpour after record downpour. Sadly I think it’s going to get much worse still. Tough times ahead for those guys.
