How do you like it so far? I was a Diablo 2 fan and haven't played in years
months later, And message from a HARDCORE player thats invested well over 1400 or so hours. Its Highly worth it if you're a casual and plan on playing the game 2 to 4 hours a day. But if you plan on putting heavy dedication into this game, Anywhere from 6 to 10 hours a day of heavy grinding and hardcore content pushing, This isn't the game for you. The game is phenomenal and has so much to offer and it is worth its price tag as you'll get about 100 hours of playtime out of it and lots of exciting content out of it. But once you hit the point of where you find yourself repeating the same thing over and over, Thats when the content ends and its time to put the game up. I'm a masochist so i can do this kinda thing and somehow not get bored or maybe its because i may play another game for a day or two and come back to d4 for another week. or maybe its because i'll play a different character. But as a player that puts in multiple hundreds and if not, Thousands of hours into games like these This game is very repetitive. But for the guy thats planning on putting in 2 to 4 hours a day, Your 70$ will be more than rewarded in the campaign alone.
TBH, I don't think any video game - or heck any activity - can survive that level of repeat playing. If you are playing more than 2-4 hours per day, it's inevitable that you will get bored of the game after a period. If you aren't bored, there's a decent chance that what you are playing is an addictive gambling machine in disguise.

It made me not buying my own copy. The game felt boring and pointless for casual player. Waiting till they make some changes or lower the price.

Edit: tried out Druid and love that too, I’ve been a lightning warlord using an axe and totem. It’s pretty dope. I’d say so far all the classes are very enjoyable.

Server slam has surprised me, i was sceptic but the game, aside some perfo issue, i think mostly coze the slam had a resolution bug that forced me to play in 4k, it was fun and beautiful to look at. So i bought the ultimate edition.

I'm actually impressed about the variety of progression and enhancement of the game in Nightmare/Torment. The fun only gets better after the story. Not many games have done that.

As someone who has only viewing experience of Diablo prior to this game, I love it! It has become my new addiction which is great. I have had 2 hard-core characters die on me so I am now smashing it on eternal and am loving it still!
Diablo 3 was my filler game, and now Diablo 4 is taking its place. When I need a break from whatever game I'm playing, I'll start a new seasonal character on Diablo and enjoy the loot progression for a few weeks.
Xbox needs to stop buying studios man. They legit can’t put out anything worth buying anymore. They need to focus on what they have before adding on
Sony keeps buying as well. They bought like 6 or 7 studio's in 2 years. And rumours are going they going to buy even more very soon. Microsoft needs to buy Activition. The people at Activition really want this to go through. They are working under terrible conditions. Microsft is one of the best places to work. Plus we get those games on gamepass.
So short: Let Sony and Microsoft buy studio's and let then compete.

@DovahVokuna that just a showcase there are many more titles in development Sony just not showing games there are gonna to be in development for years, those in the showcase are releasing soon or next year.
While xbox showcase pumped out everything without gameplay trailer with those games you mentioned and they are gonna be in development for more half a decade. So far how many games did Xbox released for new gen? Definitely way less than Sony.

I got it after some back and forth my onbly gripe is I much prefer the VFX of D3 skills , D4 skills aren't that flashy
I’m in the same boat. I feel like D3 did a better job making different areas of the world look different, because it was more colorful. The boss fight special abilities tend to blend in with the color pallet of the world.
D4 is much better than D3 and the world is more gritty like in D2 the art style is significantly better imo. Storytelling, gameplay and visuals are all W’s imo.

Honestly, I worry about reviewers like this. Since you mentioned the cross platform and multiplayer aspect which is integral to this game. It would be highly important to also mention how poorly the game is optimized for multiplayer play. There are classes which 1-2 shot everything. There are classes (actually designed on purpose) that 3-4 shot everything. Now what do you suppose is going to happen in a group of random players when you're a druid or barbarian and the others are sorcs or necros? I can tell you. You will walk through an empty dungeon or empty area because the sorc and necro will have cleared all the mobs long before you ever even walk around enough to find them. Absolutely no balance in this game.
I think you'd be looking for more then a 60 second review, of which there are several, and anyone worried about class balance right now, I'd say, that's just waisted time, being that we don't know how the balance will shake out (and among adjustments from beta to release)

@@GingerPrimeGaming it’s been looked at, and being fixed, It’s balance and it’s a beta. It’s expected to have issues, my friends were druids and barbs and had no problem in dungeons while we all played together . We moved area to area, and it was simply amazing.

I'd love to see you all on it! I'm having a blast! Endgame is a bit stale, for me, atm (too much work for too little gain) but I'm having more fun just leveling up a character in each class. They all feel very different, which is a huge plus. (If it weren't for the multiple classes, I might say that it's not worth it, unless you're just a fan of the series like me)
It is worth it for me as a Diablo 2 fan. 70usd is my salary for 3 days work and I don't regret a thing buying the game

Yea this might make the game seem great but after extensively playing it there is SO MANY glaring issues. If you want an honest review here it is.
Game has a very fun story that will provide you multiple hours of content and many fantastic cut scenes with some entertaining boss fights. You will meet some interesting NPC's on your journey and come to enjoy your time spent with them but there is gaps in your relationship and progression that makes your overall connection with the character feel like it is more than it actually should be. Especially with Vigo who did not get nearly enough time interacting with the character for the bond you actually develop. Your character also has a massive ego that he never earned which is just garbage writing all around. I shouldn't be cockily saying that I can solo a primal entity in like the time span of a few months. That's completely stupid and honestly disappointing because a good 85% of the story is actually nicely written.
Once the story is over you will be around level 50-56. After that the game offers very little in additional content. You cannot replay boss battles in higher difficulties for a challenge. You can't really find many bosses that are actually entertaining at all outside of the occasional Stronghold bosses. Dungeons are mediocre to straight up garbage with low mob density and extremely mundane and exhausting quests that are the exact opposite of fun in every way. Inventory space is extremely minimal and you will be going back to town over and over again or just tossing items at a rather ridiculous rate even compared to previous Diablo titles. Having no way to expand the items you can carry at a single time is extremely frustrating.
You get 2 Capstones at 50 and 70. Beating the boss in the Lvl 50 Capstone Dungeon opens world tier 3 and beating the level 70 boss unlocks world tier 4. Once you are in world tier 4 you start reaching end-game status. In World Tier 3 you unlock the Helltide an event that runs every hour and 15 minutes where you collect cinders to open chests that have a chance to drop unique items. You get a semi-ok density of demons to kill that give ok experience. You also unlock Nightmare Dungeons which is the primary end game content but due to low mob density dungeons feel empty and honestly not very fun.
Monsters are level scaled so no matter what level you are you can always find that the mobs in any area you go to will scale with you. EXP per kill is also pretty low even in World Tier 4. The world as you just travel around in the open also feels a less active than it should with sometimes not finding a new mob to fight for quite a bit of walking. 1 spot in Kyovashad as you traverse the mountain ranges you would expect to see a ton of Goatmen but you just walk with no interaction at all for quite awhile. That issue can be found in multiple areas of the world.
Character classes are extremely poorly executed with some classes being 1 specific build or struggle going anywhere. Your resource system constantly running out over and over again to cast your spells is massively frustrating. Potions do not insta heal you but take a few seconds for your life to recover back. It also has multiple optimization issues and lots of reports of people myself included that the game has blue screened their PC. This has been happening from low end to extremely high end rigs and no one has found the source to this problem yet.
Overall Diablo 4 is a 6/10 experience. It feels extremely unfinished. The game needed another 6-12 more months in development realistically. Maybe even 15-18 months to include more cut scene/interaction to develop relationships between some of the NPC's you journey with. Classes were not finished being balanced with Rogue being insanely powerful and Necromancer with minions feeling awful to play by comparison. Druid is a slog fest up until level 70 and even then it still isn't good. Barbarian is squishy against bosses in a not so fun way til later on in levels. Sorcerer is pretty powerful. This is not worth $70 right now. It's probably never going to be worth $70 but the game is still enjoyable to get on and play with friends for a few years. Solo it is extremely boring and you lose interest relatively quickly.

My dad beat Diablo 3 and I watched him play a lot, we then decided to re play it with my new character who is a crusader but business has caught up with him so he totally forgot. I really loved playing Diablo 3, I dont see why I wont enjoy 4

The game is excellent. Full worth the price, its polished and you feel its worth every penny.
And its not like you finish tja campaign and you are done there os a lot more.

I feel the basic attacks are meaty, but I’m still not personally used to the barb weapon system as some skills uses some weapon types for example.

I played a lot of D3 in the first few years it came out and then I revisited it on switch. When I was planning on switch I got about halfway through and realize that I’m just smashing random buttons. I never really got over that feeling so I never even got to really enjoy the endgame

It's expensive and the coop feature doesn't work on console. There is a cash shop wich is always bad and it's blizzard so we know even if the pre-launch is alright eventually we will get screwed over by their greedy tactics...
That said 10/10 sadly would buy again.

its a mobile game, no itemization, no base mechanics, no foundation. All smoke and mirrors. Stack armor, stack damage (green numbers > red numbers), and nothingh else matters. Everyone is powerful, everyone is equal right away. No point to play it.

Not really. Activision blizzard has horrible management issues and needs a fundamental change. Additionally the merge will have no exclusivity as a key part of the agreement. If it’s broken asset seizure is within EU and other signed parties rights.

I'm in the same boat, this is the 1st Diablo release I haven't preordered and the 1st time I will not purchase or play it. Lifelong fan of Diablo but it's crap, reminds me of Diablo Immortal and I didn't play that either.

The trend seems to be that as companies get bigger, the priorities naturally change from passion to profits. That's why indie games are much cheaper and refined like hollow knight or omori. Now I won’t sit here and say it’s been good like the old ones, naw😂, it got some work to do but it’s still wayy better to spend 70 dollars on this than to spend it on a single player game that when it ends you can’t do nothing else with it.

To be fair, there are people still playing Diablo 3 right now. Grinding. The longevity of the game. The playtime of the game has always been years upon years. It's a very grind orientated game. $70? Seen as a lot of the other games that have come out are trash, this one I feel excited for. But hey, people complain about $70 on this but will spend it on call of duty 😂 every year
I’d pay double easily. You can eat out one meal and get a coffee for the current price mark. The hours of play easily makes this a steal for the current price

its riding waves right now. Floating between good and bad. The base gameplay is good. But the reason to keep playing after isnt there yet. No endgame at all really. Just a time to try out the builds to see what u like before stuffs actually good in like 6 months or so

100% worth it imo. The story isn’t winning any awards for writing but it is a very solid video game story with a massive world filled with lots of decently written side quests. By far some of the best lore in any Arpg.
As for the endgame content if you don’t care about story, and just want to grind and experience new seasons, we have to wait and see how the seasonal model will turn out.
The main issue is the serious lack of combat mechanics, enemies are all simple “kill or be killed” and avoid red circles on ground, all of them, there isn’t a single boss with mechanics.
Compared to say lost ark where you need to stand in specific spots, move items around, hit stagger checks at the correct times etc. in addition to the red circles.
There is also no team building. There’s only really 1 debuff you can apply to enemies called vulnerability and all classes can apply it. No classes have party wide buffs. So there is no team building whatsoever.
I’m just worried that the combat model isn’t advanced enough to hold most people’s attention.
It would be worth it if it had an offline mode and more limited enemy scaling.
Offline, no. Private game, yes! Don't know about other platforms, but on Offline PC, I know how to get into the coding and obtain anything I want.
@@covingtonhalltown3730 No, offense, but if you can't see the importance of being able to play a simple ARPG platform game without having to be constantly tethered to the internet then there is no appealing to you. All Blizzard did was shoehorn in an online mode on a finished product to try to squeeze more money out of customers and gatekeep access to play out of fear of piracy. Control and greed, not necessity, is the reason it is online only. As an actual gamer, I've never been interested in hacking the code to obtain items. Nor am I interested in buying them piece by piece with real world currency. $70 was enough. I should have a finished product without limits. The only money I spend in the future on the title should be for a full fledged expansion; not monetized cut content or little cosmetics that should be unlocked by achievement or grinding. The gaming industry will only continue to disrespect and bend over gamers if we allow it. The trends will stop if we expose them for what they are.

It feels like the life has been sucked out of it. It's so obvious that's what they're doing too. That's why so many games feel unfinished on release nowadays. Just cutting content to slow drip feed it for more money later.

Why do people praise this game as good? The game is like d3 with better graphics and slower action. Just because you pass someone on the map sometimes does not make this game an mmo game. The game doesn't even have Global chat to talk to people. You feel like you are playing a single player

Never played any of the Diablo games but I always come out every now and then to check out the most hyped games. Elden ring was the last one and I couldn’t put the controller down. I think this one could be the next one. What do y’all think? Should I get it?

@@vic_sosa2327 Diablo is definitely not a mmorpg, but a mmo-lite. So if you play mmo’s for the sense of community, group play, team composition building etc, Diablo has none of that. It’s solo where you randomly encounter other players and help each other kill stuff.
If you go into the game with the expectation that you are playing an Arpg, and it is one of the best put together Arpg’s that exist, then you’ll have a good time.
Don’t expect it to be anything like an mmo though.
I’ve always found MMOs and arpgs similar though as I play both. Both involve lots of grinding to get character power to grind faster, and both have lots of progression systems and a wide range of content to explore. So I think most MMO players can get some enjoyment out of an arpg
