dude makes one of the greatest guitar riffs of all time and uses it for 25 seconds and then makes a basic synth loop and uses it for 25 minutes straight
I’ve only been into bm for a few years and 90% of my technique were just playing a power chord then going up one a fret on the one finger, your in depth tutorials really give a great insight and provide ideas to explore. Thanks a lot man!
i dont lerned anything because i dont get wich strings he is playing?!! he just say the frets and playing through the strings wtf?!! wich string how often bro?????
1. The amp settings don't change the pitch of the guitar, it only makes certain frequencies louder. 2. Varg used a radio as a guitar amp in the album this track is on, which doesn't have a "presence" setting like the peavey amp. 3. This is still e standard but slight higher. Maybe try checking your facts before commenting
@@shlacked2690 As far as I know Varg also used the Boss distortion pedal HM-2 with the Filosofem album. That pedal also has some extreme hights (when everything turned max). Plus 4 years ago when Varg used to have his youtube channel I asked him directly which tune did he use. He answered probably E standard. He was not 100% sure. Maybe the pitch was later changed somehow else, I don't know.
@@AlexeyLys the pitch could have been changed due to the tape speed. in his post prison albums, he also used max presence setting on the peavey amp head he used, and the guitars come in at 440 hz which is normal for E standard, as oppose to 450hz in the pre prison stuff. also, if you listen closely, the guitars come in slightly sharper in the “jesus’ tod” track than in the “dunkelheit” track.
Can you add at your list "Budstikken"? And... I really like this video, because Jesu Død feel me an emotional journey to Norway's countries. Good work, takk mann!
Awesome vid mate! Can you do gebrechlichkeit 1 From BURZUM I know it's repetitive but I really like that I want to know how to play that if you can man
Bruno Ramirez Slightly Higher than E, I like to refer to it as "Varg Tuning", because every song he's ever written is in this tuning except for the songs on his last metal album.
Yes, the tuning is E Standard as all Burzum songs. It sounds like tuned higher due to the max "presence" that Varg used on amp settings. Don't listen to those who has no hearing.
@@Becco38 No Varg recorded on E Standard not E sharp. It sounds high cos Varg used maple guitar with high high-end pickups + max presence on the amp result is extreme treble.
why are you teaching it the wrong way? you are playing a lot of the the riffs wrong here, the guy even did a video of how the riffs are played before you made this video. no disrespect by the way, i love your channel
lol none of this shit makes sense he says open e but e sounds completely different (in the same tuning) im using the exact same hand positions as him and it sounds completely different too, why are there no other tutorials on this song either i feel like im tripping
rif at 5:08 is one of the best rifs on earth. so much energy. this song comes to life because of it
Agreed
that's the typical norwegian BM if u ask me. Tremolo picking flatened power chords
KUPHSER i totally agree with you
I honestly love every single one of those fast paced riffs in this song.
Beautiful riffs!
Playing a Burzum song in a Mayhem t-shirt :)

hahahaah omg
funniest mix with that is when Maniac poses with a Burzum t-shirt
Simon Smith I have that Mayhem shirt too.

2:18 this riff is so underrated
Sickest riff in black metal. Shame it was only used as an intro.
I sometimes open the song just for that part!

@@hanneshazy7687 it sounds like you need to play a little longer. He’s literally telling you what fret and strings to play

Same here!
That double bass drum...

I would like to see you playing this song completly, after explaining it so good!
why he is explaining good ?!!!! just tabs are explaining better!!!!
then i know wich strings i have to play

Great riffs, especially the variations from 5:09 and 7:32

It's like you could read my mind! Was about to ask for this one! ;)

Is this a standart tuning? I can't play the first tremolo riff, it's just doesn't sound right
Vargs tuning is always slightly sharp

Hi, I'm a recent sub. Can you do a tutorial of the song "Beholding the daughters of firmament" by the same artist? Thanks.

I cant figure out what the tuning is...
standard tuning made a toch higher
Claudio Trajtemberg standard tuning but it’s half way between the half step up and standard tuning. Aka standard tuning but slightly higher
