The Aunt was kind of dumb to hand over her credit card, She should have just given her 300.00 in cash! and had her sign a promise to pay her back!

I also believe that the aunt could have asked a credit card company to open a card with a small credit limit for her (500ish bucks) or have asked a company to decrease the limit on an existing card, even if the limit decrease was only temporary. I've had cards where I could have opted to add another card on to my account with a smaller credit limit (it's specifically designed for parents who want their kids to have a card with a small (say 300 buck limit) for emergencies).

This is why you don't give your card to people. I do this ONCE a year with my girlfriend - on her birthday she gets my credit card at the mall, SUPERVISED SPENDING until I stop the spree myself. How anyone just leaves a card with someone and says "See ya later!" is absolutely insane.

The best way to bring down a credit card balance. Is to make 2 payments. One when it is due and another 2 weeks later. It will keep the interest down (that's how the companies make their money) and pays the balance off faster. And NEVER make the minimum payment. All you are doing is paying on the interest and nothing goes to your actual balance. So your bill will keep going up. Live and learn people

I fully admit, I spend like this woman. I go to walmart and spend about $50 a day. The difference is, it's MY OWN money. I would NEVER spend someone else's money like that without express permission. I have one of my mom's credit cards in my wallet, I use it for gas and grocery because of double points and because we live together all gas and grocery benefit her.

I agree with you. I have borrowed money from my mom, but always have and intend on paying her back. I only made 18,000 last year, and I also pay everything myself. I may not be able to pay in full, but I still pay it, even when I was out of work for six months I did not rely on the government and go on unemployment.
