    I would suggest to soak nuts 24 hrs before consumption to reduce antinutrients.

      You ask that question so polite I'm pretty sure she appreciate it but 👀 I'm pretty sure people are tired of Outsiders telling them how to do their videos that were watching for free and it's great like it is.

    My husband and I fast regularly and are interested in this for 5 days a month. Last week I water fasted 2 days and he did 3 so this shouldn’t be onerous, in fact in almost sounds like too much to eat. Would it be a problem if we didn’t eat the whole amount, maybe skipped the snacks?
    We are both very active with a large garden and animals and he teaches graduate business courses online. He’s 77 and I’m 71. I really don’t understand why Dr. Longo is concerned with older people doing this fast. Seems like it would be a benefit for anyone, no matter the age.

      Yes you could skip the snacks if you felt the amount of food was too much - I think as long as you’re ingesting at least 500 calories a day that will be ok.
      Longo believes anyone 65-70 years or older requires more protein and since he’s cautious, he doesn’t recommend his FMD (which is 5 days of very low protein intake) for most people in that age category. He may feel differently for those who are active, strong, and very healthy. That sounds like you and your husband 🙂

      @@plant52_ If you want to know more about fasting past 65, check out Don Layman. He's (nutrition scientist, focus on protein) discusses studies about how quickly they can lose muscle and in some cases never get back. Sarcopenia is a very real thing.

    can you do meal ideas for refeeding days

    • @plant52_
      @plant52_  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes I’ll start to share more recipes that are great for refeeding days - right now, whole beans with veg would be excellent, plus a kimchi fried rice (with veg) would be great too (kimchi rice recipe is on the channel)

    I would like to purchase your 5-day reset guide. It's a bit expensive for me, but I see that there's a coupon code available. Can you please share that?

    I heard the ProLon kit has a drink for days 2-5, like an energy drink?
    Do you have a suggestion for a DYI for this drink?

    • @plant52_
      @plant52_  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes Prolon has a proprietary glycerol drink but they don’t list exact measurements of how much glycerol is in the mix and what else is in it. Some fasters will buy food-grade glycerol themselves (Amazon or local grocery stores may carry it in the supplement section) and mix it with hibiscus tea. I think the glycerol drink helps with the hunger pains and is especially good for beginners. Longo (Prolon) believes it's good for retaining muscle mass but all the times I've done this, I've never lost muscle mass (similar to most others who undergo the FMD). We don’t include the glycerin drink in our DIY menu but in summary, you may try adding 0.11 grams of glycerin per 1 pound of body weight on days 2-5. Here's a great article about the FMD - 👉 johnking.blog/diy-fmd/ - where the author offers his recommendation for a DIY glycerin drink, following these guidelines: "every pound of body weight will require 0.111 grams of glycerin (eg. at 110 pounds of body weight, you'd include 12.21 grams of glycerin)
      you would measure out your glycerin amount on days 2, 3, 4, and 5 of your fast and add it to water (at least 4 cups); this can be flavored by adding in a bag or two of herbal tea (eg. peppermint, hibiscus, etc)"

      Raw plus rare vegetable glycerin is the name recommended and there’s a video explains how little to add to water that you sip all day and it helps satiate you.

      1 tsp per 28-30 oz and add a flavored herbal tea for extra flair!,
