Thank you for posting this version. The quality is perfect I found this song when i was depressed and it helped me see another day, and its become one of my favorites. RIP Elliott
„Dad's little hands sat in his lap Like a couple of crabs that Got caught in a trap And he shook my hand from so far away That he looked like a spot on the sun”. I have a couple of theories about this part and the one that I believe in the most is that this particular lyrics presents listeners with a specific scenery - Elliott and his dad hanging out. His dad is sitting down, his red (crab-like clenched fists) hands are placed in a withdrawn manner (like theyre in a trap). He then shakes Eliotts hand (possibly as a goodbye) and departs, which makes him become smaller and smaller as hes getting farther away, like a spot on the sun (again, this is supposed to show us how physically and emotionally distant Elliott felt from his dad, because the sun is millions of miles away. Even when he was in his presence he felt alone, unconnected and cold as if ‚the sun wasn’t shining on him’ - pun intended) (I also found some facts about solar spores. They’re those black spots on the sun that grow in size and move towards each other to connect and create bigger holes. And there’s a phrase ‚to be in the sun’ which means ‚to be in a dominant or favourable position’ and that fits too. There could be SO many meanings in this lyric that it’s giving me a headache) The entire song details how adults failed Elliott from a young age. Some of them distanced themselves, making it hard for him to communicate his feelings later on in his life. Some made him seek unhealthy habits instead of solving issues to escape them for a while. Its a pretty tragic song. The reference to crabs in a trap also seems like a way to describe an alcoholic, cause their faces and bodies often turn red after years of drinking, and that’s where Elliott could’ve gotten that from
you're doing such an amazing and, unfortunately, thankless job. future generations will love this... thank you so much!!!

Such a great tune and nobody seems to know about this one
That’s because you haven’t put it in a movie yet.
such a savagely funny song.
Funny and great 🖤

Anyone know what key this is in?
real
I don’t understand the spot on the sun lyric
„Dad's little hands sat in his lap
Like a couple of crabs that
Got caught in a trap
And he shook my hand from so far away
That he looked like a spot on the sun”.
