Gee, I don't know who this girl is, but I have watched Wicked one with Idina and one way back with Stephanie Block and despite all the "critiques" you gave this girl, she definitely sang the song way way better than they ever did. Just because a person is a car driving instructor doesn't mean they can be Formula One car racing drivers.
Does Morissette hit all the right spots for me when she sing this song? Absolutely. Technicalities aside, she was just doing this for fun for her fans and yet I swear to God outclassed seasoned vocalists worth their salt. For me, it's about maximum impact at the time of delivery, and she slayed the hell out of it.
It’s easy to point out mistakes and discrepancies when you are viewing performances... you can know all the techniques in your head but applying it and singing it perfectly as you allude to is totally difficult... I have seen elpabhas singing this song and have a hard time singing it... even the great Idina menzel in some instances have a hard time singing it perfectly... mind you I have seen a lot...even the seasoned broadway performers had a hard time singing this song....I have seen vocal coaches especially those that have quite a few criticism when they sing a song they are not perfect, to be honest ( despite them knowing all the proper techniques) ...she had honed this skill of hers for years and as she might be a little unorthodox in their eyes ... she has delivered and provided us excellent and amazing vocals...and that all that matters personally to me... as long as the performance captured the essence of the song and it has tugged your heart in the end....
Well thought through reply. In the end Morissette moved me again. Yes she growls and sqeaks and changes it up but thats EXACTLY what I love about her. Her emotional transference is simply the best for me personally. She is a vocal OLYMPIAN and I love it but its her facial expressions and beautiful dynamics that draw us in so she can deliver the knockout blow. Beautiful singer beautiful girl beautiful spirit.

@@myrazosa4231yes better the teacher sang that song so we can see what is the difference between her and Mori's performance about the technique she said that was an unnecessary thing to do.
I’m so happy singers do their thing and keep it fresh and unique ... like Morissette, KZ, 4th Impact, Katrina Velarde and more. Vocal coaches, teachers, (opera) singers, musical directors, producers, etc etc from all over the world all rave about these girls, and it is so incredibly refreshing that the singers above do not fall into the traps of conforming to the ‘norms’ of how to sing in any way, rather just doing it the way they feel is right for them. And that is what everyone is applaud and love. However, there is a handful who nitpick on irrelevant details that only they can hear and that no one cares about ... incl the pros mentioned above. The incredible thing is that the nitpickers don’t pick on vocal issues from established e.g. US talents and live performances incl stage, theater, opera (I am L.A. based) ... I’ve heard plenty of recorded performances being off key, having breath issues, perform with “irregular vowel sounds”, lacking proper ‘diction’, etc, ... yet no criticism by the nitpickers. I wonder why? However, I am thrilled that the world has started to open their ears to the multitude of incredible talents from the Philippines and other countries, and that the monopoly and control exerted by the U.S. ‘tribe’ in that regard is slipping amazingly FAST. True talents are finally being taken seriously, and more and more are overtaking the established singers showcasing true singing abilities ... and not based on recording studios ‘amazing’ abilities to make mediocre sound passable.
Ahhhh I liked this review! I haven't seen your channel before, but liked and Subbed! Most Broadway fans are familiar with "Wicked" and especially this song! I myself have gone down the "Defying Gravity" and "No Good Deed" rabbit hole of TH-cam compilations 😁 (I'm sure you've seen them ,where it's just 15 or more minutes of Elphabas around the world belting these songs) I can honestly say ( full disclosure I'm a massive fan of Morissette followed and supported for years now, seen her live ) this is one of the standout performances of this song period! She's had this in her rotation for around 9 years, so some of her past performances have ended up on some of those compilations. She does have some musical theatre background. She was the lead in the Disney theater production of "Camp Rock" in the Philippines, and another Musical production there as well. The Legendary Lea Salonga is a huge supporter of Morissette, at one point describing her as "Ridiculous " ! I think this video is working it's way slowly around the Broadway Community. I have seen it in a couple of Broadway blogs on Twitter and Instagram. There were some informal uploads from fans that caught the livestream, but the Production company behind the formal upload waited a bit to release it, and just uploaded it a day or so ago. I think she's phenomenal ,and her versatility is incredible. As I said , been following her for years and to see a vocalist go from "Defying Gravity " to Karen Whites "Superwoman " to "Dream on" by Aerosmith authentically is some mindblowimg stuff. The way she bends and shapes her voice and entire Performance vibe is sooo engaging! (I have typed too much so I'll stop 😊) looking forward to More Morissette here!

@@rachelsandlermusic I am using this reply because I think you get these with an announcement. I would like to bring a singer who same this song for her audition on BGT. Even if you don't react to it, it is well worth your time. I have followed her as much as the Tube will let me. Thank You for considering my request.
Hi coach. Morisette is great! Another good Filipino singer that I suggest is Charice Pempengco. Her performance of Note To God on Ophra's show will blow you away!

This 6 theather song she sung,Morissette said and indicated that she will sing these song with little Morissette version and deviate a little to original artist or character who sung this in theater. If she will sing it on a theather/broadway style, she can sing it that way.She has theater experience and knewvthe technicalities, knew the difference of broadway style singing to pop singing. If only coaches are also followers of an artist then they will know that why Mori sung it this way. What they observed and pointed out was not a technical mistakes or error but technically Mori sung it on this style. Its her cover.

Her opinion and critics is based on her own observation. Ive seen other vocal coaches abd broadway stars' reactions' so different from hers. They were blown away by Morisette's vocals and techniques. There is nothing wrong with this reaction, she's just being a coach. Im sure she's picked up a few new ways from Morisette as well. No one is perfect.
Its just few days ago so dont wonder it got only thousands of views..But coach u NEED to watch her own song "Akin ka na lang" on wishbus..She is compared to Mariah Carey bcoz of their very similar nuances but she got her own thing...She is MORISSETTE...!!The rising Phoenix...!!!Expect thousands of subs reacting to her..Thank u coach...!!Waiting for that day u would react to her again..
This is a very nice reaction from you Rachel.. Keep them coming. I hope Mori can see this reaction, who knows. She might get some pointers from this too.
you wanna hear her whistle please react her original song "akin ka na lang" and a cover of i wanna know what love is" that was phenomenal.btw nice reaction.
When people begin to focus on small details, they will surely miss the beauty of the entirety beacuse they are so occupied on the small stuff that they miss the grandeur.Instead of enjoying they normally get disappointed. It clearly shows on Rachel's face that she's not enjoying her life. She looks on the edge and tensed. Her hair alone looks terribly neglected. She throws a fake smile and laugh from time to time but it cannot hide her sadness within. Don't sweat the small stuff and be like Rachel Sandler.
What kinda crazy ass reach is that? Girl, just because she doesn’t like the way she sang it doesn’t mean she’s depressed. I swear do y’all hear yourselves? 🤣
I gotta say, if you want to see one of the best versions of this song (in the duet version) that even takes it a note higher for the final note, you HAVE to watch Superfruit's cover: th-cam.com/video/vdNSi07T5GQ/w-d-xo.html Mitch Grassi (Elphaba) is a very talented singer, as is Scott Hoying (Glinda) and they have a lot of fun doing music together when they aren't touring with Pentatonix. If you do watch it, make sure to watch to the end because they have bloopers after the outro for almost every music-based video they do; not counting the ones for their album.
I love you being articulate on the singing techniques. So i dont undertsand why some fans needs to pick you. Every artists has always room for improvement. These comments doesn't really draw away from the fact that she is a great singer!
Welcome to the world of Morissette, she is known here in the Philippines 🇵🇭 as the Asia's Phoenix, Thanks for checking her out in your channel. She has so many covers and original songs to check for. I suggest for next reaction is her cover "Rise Up" by Andy Day in wish 107.5 bus and also her original song "Akin Ka Na Lang" and please put translation. Thank you, she has so many fans here in the Philippines 🇵🇭, I'm pretty sure you'll get more subscribers from her fans if you keep on reacting to her. God bless
Morisette is a filipino, and english is our 2nd language, maybe its a little bit different as u expected. And shes a pop singer too but pretty good sure she may go for a good training for a broadway song like what lea salonga experience, and rachel ann go.. they are all Filipina.
Great reaction for that reason I have subscribed. I hought she did well there. I have seen a lot of musical specially here in the west end. I am pretty sure if she applied for a main role she's guaranteed a place...She is always amazing!
Just so you know this is a Broadway classic. I'm not sure if you are a truly a voice coach. But talking about her enunciation and mouth being wide open widely. Have you ever seen an opera? And don't you notice she didn't even use a mic.
Hi Lana! I actually have two opera degrees and work professionally in musical theatre! So yes I’m very familiar :) the comments I made are regarding Morissette being more of a pop style singer, so she added her own riffs and flare you wouldn’t see on broadway! I really love her version
@@rachelsandlermusic oh good to know that...my point is saying "she should have done this , she should haven't done that" She is a professional singer and coached by a vocal teacher. Mind you, she made her professional stage debut in musical for Camp Rock in 2012 here.
I wish Morissette can watch this. There's always room for improvement even to those who are on the highest pedestals of their crafts. And that separates them from good to great because they never stop improving.
I'm a big Morissette fan. When I first heard her sing this song, I thought it was perfect. And I admit that when I heard some of the coach's criticism i felt kinda down but then I realized that she's speaking from a professional's POV. And that's something I'm not familiar with. I believe that Morissette is such a kind person who is open to suggestions on how she can better her performance. I hope us fans will represent this kind of approach whenever we encounter such situations 🤗 Thank you for your honest feedback. Please react to Morissette "Di Mapaliwanag" on MYX Live. It's her original song ❤️
Thats because vocal coaches who reacted were not a follower of an artist.Morissette said that she will sing this song in Stages Session and she will insert a little morissette style.its her cover. If mori will sing this in a theater,of course she will sing it theather style also. They should follow Morissette so that they will know that Mori sing this broadway song with a little twist and not to sound to an original artist.
@@mulusmonteclaro198 this is her first encounter with Mori though. Her reaction was understandable given that she wasn't yet familiar with her singing style. You should watch her succeeding Mori reaction videos.
Oh, ye of little faith, or should I say familiarity :-) When you're more videos into her repertoire you'll see her technique and relaxation is close to unmatched. She rarely sings with tension.
Just a little bit information. She was also a broadway singer, I think that the stages session who uploaded that video was a broadway stages group where Morissette was also a member that's why I think she sang it that way. So I think she must be very trained when it comes to singing broadways. And in fact, she also sang in Camp rock musical here in the Philippines when startibg her career so she must have years of understanding in broadways. But Great reaction tho hope you will do more reactions to Morissette.💜
English , not being her FIRST language.....I think you can agree, her annunciation and clarity on the words and vowels are better than many where English is their spoken language. Perhaps they might learn....to open their mouth more. I am sure in time, you'll see the technical perfection in how she sings, emotes and modifys every song for her style.
the original upload of her RISE UP cover was taken down because it has lots of views compared to the ones by the original. it had 100m+ views compared to Andra Day's who had jast 30m+. views
Now this is constructive criticism! I love your reaction so much. I really hope she can watch your reaction because I believe that this will help her grow. I watched a theatre vocal coach react to this comparing her to Idina Menzel and I thought he was being biased because he was a theatre vocal coach and it made sense but I didn't really enjoy it at all. But I love your comments on her singing so much!
You're such an incredible Voice Teacher/Reactor. You, pointing out those little mistakes are valid coz you're explaining how it should be done in a better way or placement. Thank you for your honest criticisms! ❤
Mori = PERFECTION for me. I love that she puts her own little twist to any song she sings. She uses her own tone and style and emotions in every song she songs whatever genre she is singing. She MORIFIES any song she sings.
Well just subbed coz of her.hope u continue reacting to this phenomenal singer, by the way all genres of music is not alien to her just hang on to her and u'l find out what i mean. Nice reaction anyway.

rewatchin it again. hihi she got new Broadway covers home she used to be mine someone like you also do check asias song festival 2017-2018 never enough
Your observation is correct, but it actually depends on the song she's singing. It just so happened that in this song, she wants to add character to her voice by emphasizing every words. She acts when she sing. Well, maybe it's also because when she was still starting out as a singer, people would tell her that she's not giving the proper emotion when singing and that she just want to show off her high notes. So that's why from then on, she started singing and acting while interpreting a song.
9:20 Perhaps those minor things that you picked out from her comes from the fart that English is not her native tongue but Filipino and/or Cebuano/Binisaya. I also noticed and observed that with another super talented Filipina singer, KZ Tandingan.
I've read a lot of very mean comments from Morissette's fans. What do you except from a voice teacher? Morissette has an undeniably great voice and I'm sure she's open for criticisms. To those who are saying that this is a clickbait, it's not. If this voice teacher is using the Filipino crowd for clout, she most probably won't be criticizing but instead, she'll just compliment kasi mga patola tayo. Nakakahiya kayo!
You are correct BUT did she knew why Mori sung it that way?Thats because the coach was not a follower of Mori.Mori fans knew that Mori will sing In Stages Session a broadway song and she will put a Morissette flavor in it.If Mori will follow the original broadway style of singing,do you think she cant do it?Mori is not stupid to know the difference of broadway singing to a pop singing since sge has a theather experience and play a major role more than this so called vocal coaches.

Morisette is a filipino, and english is our 2nd language, maybe its a little bit different as u expected. And shes a pop singer too but pretty good sure she may go for a good training for a broadway song like what lea salonga experience, and rachel ann go.. they are all Filipina.
The Philippines is Island of the singers!❤️
Mori is so good!
Great reaction for that reason I have subscribed. I hought she did well there. I have seen a lot of musical specially here in the west end. I am pretty sure if she applied for a main role she's guaranteed a place...She is always amazing!
Maybe she's just living out the role
Just so you know this is a Broadway classic. I'm not sure if you are a truly a voice coach. But talking about her enunciation and mouth being wide open widely. Have you ever seen an opera? And don't you notice she didn't even use a mic.
Hi Lana! I actually have two opera degrees and work professionally in musical theatre! So yes I’m very familiar :) the comments I made are regarding Morissette being more of a pop style singer, so she added her own riffs and flare you wouldn’t see on broadway! I really love her version
Diction and jaw tension are staples in vocal pedagogy and are integral when analyzing technique!
@@rachelsandlermusic oh good to know that...my point is saying "she should have done this , she should haven't done that" She is a professional singer and coached by a vocal teacher. Mind you, she made her professional stage debut in musical for Camp Rock in 2012 here.
@@rachelsandlermusic I agree diction and jaw tension are important so I'm pretty sure she is much more aware with that.
I wish Morissette can watch this. There's always room for improvement even to those who are on the highest pedestals of their crafts. And that separates them from good to great because they never stop improving.
Thanks so much I totally agree! Never stop learning. Myself included.
hello rachel thank you appreciating moris talent as a filipino im so proud of it try her never enough and rise up....
I love the way you see or express things... I say, this is one of the best reactions articulated.
Morissette brought me here. Subbed. Some good points here.
and that face she did is for the emotions to adds
Fun Fact : Mori started in Musical Theater before joining The Voice Philippines
I love your review, would love to enroll in your class lol
Feel free to reach out for lessons!
Please do more of her she is everything ❤
NICE REVIEW RACHEL!💙💙💙 THANKS A LOT💙
i think what she did on that sky and defying gravity part is intentional i think she wanted to give it some flavor like she's emphasizing the words
Appreciate the suggestions, I am learning😍😍😍
Thank you 🥰
I'm a big Morissette fan. I hope us fans will represent this kind of approach whenever we encounter such situations 🤗
Thank you for your honest feedback.
You should watch her succeeding Mori reaction videos.
your critiques are also very legit. you give praise properly and critique properly.
Oh, ye of little faith, or should I say familiarity :-) When you're more videos into her repertoire you'll see her technique and relaxation is close to unmatched. She rarely sings with tension.
She sang 6 songs on that performance, this was her last song, so maybe about the breath, she's already tired.
Exactly
I think it was intentional to give more emotional impact.
With the breathing that you noticed it could have been part of stylistic choice.
Real fans dont take suggestions as negative comments, they are ways to get better and better
Fly like a bird next??this one is her latest cover thats why it only have that much views..
Welcome coach to Morisette country..
Kindly react to her singing "Fly Like A Bird"
Aside from her father & Sarah G (Morissette’s The Voice coach), I’ve never heard of Morissette having any type of coach.
Hindi nmn legit n voice coach si Sarah...
I remember she said before that Maestro Ryan Cayabyab coached her and, if I remember it correctly, I think it was even before she joined TVP.
That was recorded on July 4th, so only a couple of days old.
Shes amazing♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
Hope Rise Up cover by Morisette next on your reaction ma'am Rachel..thank u
New subs here'bec of morisette
the original upload of her RISE UP cover was taken down because it has lots of views compared to the ones by the original. it had 100m+ views compared to Andra Day's who had jast 30m+. views
it’s 40M* not 30M
Love your reaction!!! 😍
I actually like your reaction.. This is my first time watching.. Keep it up.. Thanks
This was sung live on her instagram and then it was uploaded to her TH-cam
You're such an incredible Voice Teacher/Reactor. You, pointing out those little mistakes are valid coz you're explaining how it should be done in a better way or placement. Thank you for your honest criticisms! ❤
Mori = PERFECTION for me. I love that she puts her own little twist to any song she sings. She uses her own tone and style and emotions in every song she songs whatever genre she is singing. She MORIFIES any song she sings.
I liked this review. Hope Mori sees this she watches youtube reactions from time to time.
Well just subbed coz of her.hope u continue reacting to this phenomenal singer, by the way all genres of music is not alien to her just hang on to her and u'l find out what i mean. Nice reaction anyway.
Tnx for the reaction, new sub here. This doesnt have massive views bec 1. This is uploaded just a few days ago and 2. The uploader only has a 100k+ subs compared to her wish videos that got more than a hundred million views which were uploaded a few years already and of course wish channel already has millions of subs.
THE most honest and objective reaction.
Thank you so much!!! That is my goal! She is fabulous.
you have to see more from Mori...then maybe you will finally see all her stylistic choices. But be prepared to be mind blown...
Growl And That FLY
Great reaction and analysis. I believe Mori and her team must take heed of Rachel's suggestions! More Mori pls. "Fly like a Bird" next pls. th-cam.com/video/ysQBKeZDtPg/w-d-xo.html
She's talented and I'm sure you are also talented. Thanks for checking her out.

Take care and keep safe.

she got new Broadway covers

she used to be mine
someone like you
also do check
asias song festival 2017-2018
never enough
Your observation is correct, but it actually depends on the song she's singing. It just so happened that in this song, she wants to add character to her voice by emphasizing every words. She acts when she sing. Well, maybe it's also because when she was still starting out as a singer, people would tell her that she's not giving the proper emotion when singing and that she just want to show off her high notes. So that's why from then on, she started singing and acting while interpreting a song.
she sang that yesterday only girl...thats why only 100k views. check her other videos reaches billion already.
only millions..pls learn how not to exaggerate things
React also the Asia Song Festival 2017 by morissette pls.pls you can see morissette there the energetic and incredible pls
Naahhhh. One thing straight.. NO ONE CAN EVER BEAT THIS VERSION. LOL. AND ITS A FACT! 😏
It is really good!!
9:20
Perhaps those minor things that you picked out from her comes from the fart that English is not her native tongue but Filipino and/or Cebuano/Binisaya. I also noticed and observed that with another super talented Filipina singer, KZ Tandingan.
I subcribed to your Channel😊
The song" El perdón " by Diana Navarro
Please react to her most viewed performance with 110 million views.
AKIN KA NALANG on the Wish bus.
I love your honest review and I'm learning! ❤
Thank you! 😊
Love u mori. 😍❤
I stan.
