great stuff! I really like playing HG with or without lockdown and go for the sweep or to the back but... sometimes I lose control in the transition to the back but never thought of this option. This is a must try for sure! thanks!
This looks like magic. Brooklyn BJJ student here! Tactical question: is the half-guard a position I should be "going for", or is it a defense position that happens as a reaction while trying to stop my opponents advance?
🙌🏼 some people favor bottom half-guard since it offers ample opportunities for sweeps and back exposure. But it comes at a price: your knee-line is partially compromised. So there are pros and cons. With experience and study you can decide if it’s a place you’d choose or avoid. 👌🏼
@@bzglick I see. Can you elaborate what does "knee-line is partially compromised"? You mean the knee touching the ground, the knee that's pointing the ceiling, or the imaginary line between both lines?
Hi Brian, would you use a similar transition from using the kiss of the dragon from in side DLR? Or would you recommend an alternative entry that is much more convenient?
Your videos are absolute gold. I came across you from Danaher's post. Thanks a lot sir, keep em coming
Will do ;)
Great option Brian! Would really enjoy more half guard techniques!
😊😊😊
Really appreciate that you showed the set-up and entry into the position.

💯 sweep is great, back exposure is better...but nothing beats a good leg attack 😆
Perfect! Thank you so much Brian!

So sick lol. Awesome stuff. Thank you
Glad you enjoyed it - thanks for watching

Thanks Brian! 🤙🏽

The latter: your job from guard is first to protect that imaginary line
@@bzglick Ah, this makes sense. Thank you.
Awesome stuff! Any chance you would cover dealing with front heads from underhook half, right into counter offense?
Thanks. Are you asking about top position or bottom
@@bzglick bottom position :)
OK - we'll cover it soon :)
@@bzglick thank you 🙏
Wow 🙌🏻
🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
love deep half...will be using this 100%
Perfect 👌🏼

Yes - you can get to here from inverting out of reverse DLR 👍🏼
