Today I attempt to take on a brand new Pokemon Challenge, A Pokemon Nuzlocke But Pokemon Types Die. What this means is in addition to this being a Pokemon Ultra Sun Randomizer Nuzlocke, anytime one of my Pokemon faints I can no longer use that Pokemon's primary typing for the rest of the game. With only 18 Pokemon Types available there is not a lot of room for error and this should be a fun, but very difficult Pokemon challenge for me to complete! This series will be uploaded every week on Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday so make sure you subscribe and click the bell so you don't miss an episode!

Rules:
1. You can only capture the first Pokemon you encounter in each new area. If the first Pokemon you encounter is a type you have already lost you can look again until you find a Pokemon with a typing you can still use.
2. You must nickname every Pokemon you catch.
3. Any Pokemon that faints is considered dead.
4. Anytime a Pokemon faints you can no longer use any other Pokemon who have that same primary typing for the rest of the game.

Your starter has the move it shouldnt have because whoever randomized your game clicked the mark that says Gift pokemon recive a Gift move, starters are by all means Gift pokemon so your ended up with that Gift move, it should remain legall if u ask me
Also the encounter in the school is by all means legall. 100% different area and different catchable pokemon
Also, I do believe it says trainers school when you enter, not route 1.

@@lilylarimar2762 early game Melemele is really weird. Trainer School, Kukui's House, Your House, that all is technically Route 1, just different sub areas of Route 1. It's kinda like the Wild Area from Sw/Sh, actually, where it's one bug area with different sub areas

Why does John always start a nuzlocke with a Pokemon that has dragon rage
Gotta be honest, seeing him celebrating another early Pokémon with dragon rage doesn’t bode well for based on the last time he did exactly that

The area around Kukui’s lab is technically still route 1, but route 1 is so big and the encounter table is different, so I think it should count as a different area.
Agreed. There are three, maybe four, distinct areas to “Route 1” in these games. Since they have different encounter tables and are unlocked at different times, I would have no qualms considering them different areas.

I love how gabite has dragon rage early on that's epic. Dont lose gabite hes the dragon warrior
Garchomp is my fav Pokémon if he loses the granite I will literally cry but I hope he get a feature top their my top 2 fav mons
@@arjunsriram3878 garchomp is definitely a beast. I honestly hope he gets aggron. Or maybe mega aggron only because I love aggron hes so powerful defensively and aggressively. Not to mention iron defense in his mega is a massive tank

@@arjunsriram3878 oh definitely but hes still gotta be cautious about what types he has and how he can make them work together or else hes gonna have a bad team, and say he loses a type but could be steel water etc. Hes gotta play smart. So potions if he needs badly, definitely some moves like iron defense, dragon dance, etc. Aggron and garchomp are both dual types so if an ice type defeats garchomp hes screwed, if a fighting or ground type kills aggron hes done for. It's all about playing it smart and safe especially since its randomized

whenever i do a nuzlocke of alola, i count hauoli outskirts, route 1, and the trainer's school as separate encounters, but different ppl do it differently

In my opinion you should consider these smaller areas in route 1 and future routes as separate areas as they have different encounter tables and like as you said more encounters more as this is already a very hard challenge

i have a question: if you have 2 pokemon with the same primary typing, and loose on of them, would you technically lose both of those pokemon?
Yes I would! I have to be super careful if I’m using multiple Pokémon of the same typing
@@PM7 oooo this just makes the challenge so much harder and kind of sadder (if you lose a pokemon that maybe isn't as good which has the same typing as a good mon on the team :c) , i wish you luck :p
I need to say this Pokemon ultra sun and moon got me back into the poker on series, it was a big improvement to the originals

Definitely play it safe with gabite, keep prinplup safe, and try to keep litten safe. But early dragon rage is a definite need and with the exp.share on it's really helpful. I know lots of people dont like using them because they want it to be challenging and that's reasonably acceptable. But especially since you got mega pokemon plus legendary pokemon you gotta think smart and being overly cautious helps a lot

I think the trainer schooled counts as a new encounter since there was a pop up on the screen saying “Trainer School- Route 1”. I always thought any areas like that did that were considered to be a new encounter

I've kind of been wanting to play Ultra Sun and Moon again, since I finally got Ultra Sun after only having Moon and Ultra Moon. But it just bothers me that the main character's face never changes

So this mean if you lost the pokemon type that means gabite is dragon so if gabite lost you cant catch another dragon type
That's correct
it only applies to pokemons with that first type, if the pokemon has that type as a second type, he can still use it. Ex: he could use a noivern, even if he loses the gabite, because noivern is primary flying and dragon is it's second type.
