Great review and super cool compressor. Very subtle differences with these mastering settings. Would love to hear more exemples when you push it harder with more like mixing situations. Cheers.
Had mine with the Lundahl transformers for 15 years. My goto for drumbus since the grippy attack makes it stand out for parallellcompresson setting in to extremes. Recently had it in for overhaul and calibration, getting new Mullard tubes and a new PSU. Also i got new aluminium knobs since the originals has plasticiser wich make them sticky over time like alot of products from the early 2000s. Both KulTube and the Qure EQ i starting to get of sought after since they've discontinued them a few years back and those who has them keep them close. I'ts kind of a if you know, you know deal and really if you can snag one of these up you should definitely go for it. Have an extra look at the back of the unit if theres a Lundahl transfomer inside sticker. That's the one to get. Definitely do a drumbus, kick, snare video with extreme settings and show it's Transient Designer flavors 🙂 Thanks for sharing the video.
Thanks for sharing! Mine does not have the Lundahl's, but I will likely upgrade it at one point. My knobs aren't sticky yet, and I'm still enjoying the soft rubber feel of them. I'll definitely do a follow up video; two, probably. I'll "play" with it more and I also want to do a video on side chain compression (and not just HPF in the side chain). Cheers!
I love this question! The only thing to do is to get my hands on one and do another video. These are really the two compressors people should be considering in that price range for stereo, bus, mix down, and mastering work.
I have a bus with the output set to another pair of analog out’s which go to the sidechain input on the Kultube. I put the eq on that bus before it is sent out.
secretly this is a perfect video for learning different compression-styles. nice job!

I'd love to! Maybe in July. If you have any clips to send me, I'd definitely put them through their paces as well.
would love to see a video on your Requisite L2M
@@audiokemestry I was just considering putting one together last week, actually! Hopefully I’ll get some time in the next week or two.

Nice video with great sounding examples! Can't wait for the next one.
Cheers! Glad you enjoyed it. 🙌🏼
ooh, lotta 10k in that track! i would love to hear it on drumbus. thanks for uploading!
Cheers! I'm hoping things will slow down a bit soon so I can make some more of these. (do I really want work to slow down though? Haha)
Great video thanks!
You’re welcome! I should have some more coming when I get the time.
Nice video Jon
Thanks Jameel!
I really like the sound. Shame there aren't any for sale anywhere.
Yeah it is a shame! Glad I finally got my hands on one. Probably won’t let go either!
How does the Kultube vs xpressor sound in comparison?

@@transparentmastering yeah you mentioned on the video!! Eagerly waiting for the xpressor video… no real video showcasing online.
Hey, I was wondering: do you know how to use an external EQ to make sidechain with the Kultube? I can't manage to make the wires connection. Thanks!
Anyhow the mix turns to the left while moving the harmonic knob between 10-40%. Any advices?
how Did you set up the plugin controlled side chain?

@@transparentmastering ah nice. And what cable do you use?
@@conrow1157 two xlr's out to an adapter to stereo 1/4" jack.
Is it possible to use this unit for mono tracks?
