They both have created mind blowing masterpiece songs & absolutely crush live. And both have completely destroyed the majority of bands they've been on the same bill with. Yet they're both not huge. Totally agree, in 2006 (when they were pretty well unknown) my girlfriend took me to see Alter Bridge in her university bar, she was on the entertainment body so I got to meet the band, I knew some of them as I kind of liked some Creed songs at the time and thought hey this could be good. Dude they fucking blew me away, several months later I broke up with the girl, but my love affair with Alter Bridge just keeps getting stronger. And from around 2500 people in the Cardiff Uni bar to seeing them playing much bigger gigs now, but I still think they are hugely underrated. I keep playing them to my friends though, and have hooked a few people on to the Alter Bridge sweetness. But there's still a lot of work to be done!
When Alter Bridge came out I was never into Creed so my thinking was hell, they only changed the singer cant be any better.... I missed out on YEARS of awesome shit. AB is now my favorite band and i am just happy i finally gave them a listen. But while i was in that pit, i found this song. And i'm not afraid to say that without this song, i wouldn't be here. It saved me. And i forever will love this song and this band. You're like me, that's why I love rock/metal. No other genre in general can make me feel emotions like the ones in this song. I think you'll enjoy more Alter Bridge, because every single song they wrote hit your soul. That's why it's my favorite band of all time. From their newest album "This Side Of Fate" would be the masterpiece of that album. From the Fotress album, "Fortress" and "Cry Of Achilles" would be that. From ABIII, their darkest song to date in my opinion is "Show Me A Sign" (though I would recommend this one after you've listened to more AB songs) and "Words Darker Than Their Wings". I would recommend more, because it's just so good

Scott Phillips, the drummer, is from the town next to mine. I've met him a couple of times throughout life. His father was my professor In a couple of classes. He and I knew many of the same local musicians.....until, he went to FSU. Then, he met his band mates. Fired Scott Stapp and brought Miles Kennedy in.....perfection was born. Could not have happened to a more awesome guy than Phillips.

I'm late to the party, and rarely comment on videos, but having watched and liked many of your video's...I think you would enjoy anything Alter Bridge. I will be absolutely SHOCKED if that's not the case. Myles Kennedy has an amazingly powerful and clean voice. Additionally, the lead guitarist Mark Tremonti is one of the "modern/contemporary" guitar greats.
I feel the same way , Miles and Mark poured themselves out on this one . How could they never get any grammy nomination is proof that the music industry like many other things have lost thier heart. WHEN YOU CAN FEEL A SONG LIKE BLACKBIRD , it invokes very feeling in your soul , truly refreshing to see another person willing to step out of the stigma box and be so open with the way a composition makes them feel. Keep up the great work. If you get a chance , take a listen to BURN IT DOWN off thier debut album , tell me what you think.
Bro if you want details in songs check out the band Elder. All of their songs are 8-13ish minutes and longer. Intricately layered guitars and grooving HEAVY bass and drums. The songs Hexe, Knot, Deadweight and Sanctuary give a good example of what each album sounds like. Please Preston Elder is the most slept-on band ever.

If you want to hear more of the same from Alter Bridge do "In Loving Memory" or "Words Darker Than Their Wings" (live from Royal Albert Hall. Or if you want to hear their heavier stuff do "Metalingus" or "Addicted to Pain"
Actually some "even darker and heavier" songs like still remains, show me a sign, fortress, cry of achilles, this side of fate, the other side, the last hero and island of fools are nice examples

I really enjoy watching people go through this journey on TH-cam. Watching someone leave there comfort zone and enjoy various genres of music. I have and will always be a Metalhead don't get me wrong. King ktf and a couple others, but I won't promote different reaction channels here. I've found a lot of good hip hop artists that I have added to my play list and a lot of my favorite bands have been added to yours. I LOVE your reaction to Tool. I see in you what I felt when I first heard them in the mid 1990's. That are timeless and amazing, they're the Doors and the Beatles and The Rolling Stones and the Who, all ground up into this amazingly intricate web of art rock and post-modern metal. Its as close to a perfect song as you can humanly get. If you were gonna give a masterclass in writing a great song this would be one of the best examples you could use! The instruments, the vocals, lyric writing, tension, buildup, and use of dynamics, relatable to the majority of people...It’s just perfect!

I'm late to the party, and rarely comment on videos, but having watched and liked many of your video's...I think you would enjoy anything Alter Bridge. I will be absolutely SHOCKED if that's not the case. Myles Kennedy has an amazingly powerful and clean voice. Additionally, the lead guitarist Mark Tremonti is one of the "modern/contemporary" guitar greats.
I feel the same way , Miles and Mark poured themselves out on this one . How could they never get any grammy nomination is proof that the music industry like many other things have lost thier heart. WHEN YOU CAN FEEL A SONG LIKE BLACKBIRD , it invokes very feeling in your soul , truly refreshing to see another person willing to step out of the stigma box and be so open with the way a composition makes them feel. Keep up the great work. If you get a chance , take a listen to BURN IT DOWN off thier debut album , tell me what you think.

Bro if you want details in songs check out the band Elder. All of their songs are 8-13ish minutes and longer. Intricately layered guitars and grooving HEAVY bass and drums. The songs Hexe, Knot, Deadweight and Sanctuary give a good example of what each album sounds like. Please Preston Elder is the most slept-on band ever.
