That was one of the best educational animations I have ever seen!! (Now if you could just demonstrate the rest of medical field like so, I'll be indebt to you.)
Im 15 and I have sickel cell anemia and It really helped me to understand what is happening in my body. I only knew bits and pieces of what was happening. Thanks guys!!!
LOVE THIS!!! After reading from textbooks and articles all day on Sickle Cell, this TOTALLY made my day. Thanks for making such a cute and informative video!!!
Played this video to my children and they loved it, this cartoon perfectly broke down the specifics of sickle cell disease clearly and in no time at all
This is an awesome way to teach people about this disease! Even kids will be able to understand it.I will most def use this in my school resaerch to teach my peers about this disease!
This is excellent! Extremely well done. As someone with SS this has explained sickle cell to me in an entirely new way. Granted, I’ll have to watch the video several more times to fully understand it, but it’s great to see the disease the way my doctors probably do.
Great job Paulo and Alia !! I have some questions though. For instance, in your video you present mono-atomic oxygen binding to each Hemoglobin subunit. I thought O2 (molecular oxygen) binds to each Hb subunit. Also, you present at 3:11 the Formation of molecular oxygen as part of superoxide pathway, but as far as I know we are full of O2, we breath O2. How can you reconcile these two ideas? It would be great if could give me tittle of the paper you based your video on, so I can check it myself. Thanks Excelente trabajo Paulo y Alia. Quisiera saber si me puedes aclarar algunas cosas.

Alexis patterson me too. It's bad. I'm 21 but I was never sick. And then when I turned 15, I was in and out of the hospital like crazy! It's getting a little better now. We think it was probably hormones that was making it go crazy like that
