Why was that person looking at that deer's butt
Staying on Miyajima overnight is a must. It’s absolutely beautiful and peaceful when all the tourists get on the last ferry. Walking underneath the Tori gate of a night at low tide is magical ⛩️

Yeees, these vlogs are the best! Experiencing the parts of Japan I didnt’t have time to visit when I was there 👀
Hiroshima is one of my favorite places in Japan. Big City but still has a small town feel to it. Miyajima is my favorite island in Japan, I think if anybody goes to visit the island, they should hike up Mt. Misen because for me it was the best view in Japan, and the best view of Hiroshima.
ah joey you guys went to less popular port to catch the ferry to Miyajima. Most tourist will catch the JR to Miyajimaguchi station and catch the very short ferry to Miyajima. But i guess it make sense to avoid the tourist horde.
I personally feel that the tram to Hiroshima port takes a bit longer and have to wait abit longer in between ferry to Miyajima.
Please do more vlogs like this, these are some of my favorites!
The old onsen video which was a while back now was also really good
Hiroshima + Miyajima were probably my favourite places I got to visit in Japan; the hike to the top of the island has spectacular views as well. Staying overnight sounds amazing and goes on the plan for the next time I get to visit
I love you twos trips! Always look forward to them.
Thanks for the tour of Miyajima! You looked like you had so much fun. I agree that ryokans serve too much food, but who said anyone had to eat all of it. Again, thanks for introducing me to the more remote part of the town. You gave me a reason to visit for another visit.
I really enjoyed this vlog, keep up the great work
been this year to miyajima with my hubby and 2 little girls we loved it , i will go back.
Keep up the awesome work and videos Joey love the video
As picky an eater as I am, there's something exciting about going to Japan one day and trying all kinds of food. I think, out of all the different cultures I've tried from restaurants in my home country, Japanese has been the best.
Joey, please tell Aki her skin looks so radiant and beautiful!
Love these type of vlogs !!
Come thru aki with the castle reference!!!! Yassss
The Jinja had a Shinto wedding the last time I visited. In 2010.
aki looked so cute with that dress! ande omg the deer
Also kind of hilarious to me. I own the exact same wall scroll that is two times in the picture behind Aki in the Okonimiaki restaurant. Bought it as a souvenir back in 2017. In Kamakura. Must be a very popular item there I guess.
As an American, I really wish people would THINK about what we did and how awful it was for others. Thank you for taking us along on this journey...
22:08 I wish I knew what they're saying in the chanting. Whatever it is, it's knocking me over with a profound emotion...
Dude! the timing of this video!
Joey to the deer: Your not gonna have any!
Aki: AHHHH
im going there in 1 month for 3 days too and this really helps
SHIKANOKO KOSHITAN!
Ain’t no way Joey is lifting her on the seesaw.
13:32 guess chopper enjoys more than just cotton candy these days
The food looks so delicious. Especially the unagi-don like dish 🤤
Happy Anniversary to you guys ☺☺
I was there in may and hiroshima is famous for it food Okonomiyaki and manju
27:56 what's that weed leaf doing on the plate? Lol
Going into an onsen was Waaaay out of my comfort zone but I was not going to let that stop me! So worth it, I slept Sooo well
Sister told me it's forbidden to be born nor die on this island for it ruins its purity.
My mom was a child when they bombed. It was horrific. 💔
I'm amused at the fact that there's Gandhi statue in Hiroshima.
... Did the contributor to that statue happen to play Civ games and go, " You know what? _Nuclear Gandhi_ "
You look very good in this vlog
This vlog is NOT free of shikanoko nokonoko koshitantan 🦌
Any Civilization players going a little 🤨 when seeing Ghandi in Hiroshima?
certified shikanoko nokonoko koshitantan moment 30:57
Bambi wanted some food!!
Aki looks prettier and younger every year that passes. You're a lucky man, Joey ❤
This is so peaceful 🩷 BTW how can I get one of those books for the stamps when I visit japan? Can't quite get how it's written.
I think it's roughly A4. I'd just get a notebook of drawing paper from a stationary store or a discount store. The stamps are called goshuin or just shuin. Rail stations and some tourist attractions will also have their own stamps, but shrines' goshuin tend to have that similar format.
Lots of shrines sell goshuin books. Some shrines have their own unique goshuin books. Souvenir shops and castles also have them. I would suggest going to your favorite shrine and getting their book, then getting your first stamp from them
I went to Hiroshima and Miyajima in 2010 as part of a travel group and it was both one of the saddest and one of the most beautiful places we went our trip. The deer were so funny and ate snacks right out of our guide's bag while she was still wearing it lol. We also got to listen to the last living survivor of the Hiroshima bombings share her experience and that was very tragic.
I think that's about when I first went, same feelings
That sounds like a really nice trip ^-^
@@MelonHere20 Thanks! It really was. I went with this sadly now defunct group called People to People that was basically a youth ambassador program that sent teens all over the world to experience other cultures. I went to Japan when I was 17. We went to Tokyo, Saitama, Hakone, Hiroshima, Gifu, and Kyoto. I got to do so many cool things and meet so many wonderful people that really shaped me as a person. That trip is definitely one of my fondest memories.
I gotta say, the lack of music or other added sound effects really worked amazingly well for this vlog! Just letting the vibe and ambiance of each location speak for itself with all the background nature noises and the chanting/echoes at the religious sites. It really does a lot to sell the location compared to the relative void of narration/travel music
I honestly love when people do that in vlogs, it really let's you experience the overall vibes better
32:03 Aki's perfectly cut scream after being informed of the deer behind her was amazing 😂
Cue "YOU DEER"
"Sorry girl... I'm a fan of both of you. Just wanted an autograph, damm!" 😔
Nice trip Joaki the Anime Dearest.
I saw you both at the peace park, our group was walking away from the statue in 02:57 and you both were walking towards us. I did a double take cuz it was unexpected lol i never saw any TH-camrs IRL. I was too shy to say hi but you both look so cute irl too!!
"Am I right, Mr Deer?"
That is a doe 🤣
what if it’s non binary
@@shazam2323 the point was "Mr"
1:20 Joey and Aki on a sea saw is such a wholesome moment
That was so cute😊
Joey the Jiant lol so sweet
Are you trying to say they weight the same lol
am i the only one that imagined them on the sea saw for 2 hours? 😂
bro still hasn't proposed ,smh
It's frightening when you realize a lot can change in 80 years.
Not even a hundred years!
The way these cities recovered after the blast still inspires me whenever I think about it.
Maybe my problems aren't so impossible afterall.
Hiroshima is such a beautiful place to visit. It's unfortunate that it's history in WWII is the only thing people know it for.
Honestly one of my favourite cities I’ve visited in Japan.
Sad, but true.
@@guadalupev30
I know there's more to Hiroshima than the bombs, and I know it because of that
The hypocentre was the Genbaku Dome. The reason it survived was that the pressure came directly down, not sideways, and the pillars were able to withstand it.
I went there in 1991 and loved the city. However, my favourite part (maybe in all Japan) is Miyajima. When we went to the torii, we threw stones to try to get them to stay on the torii, but in doing so, we knocked 2 other stones off. (That was back when you were still allowed to do so.)
look up Hypocenter Monument. It's not exactly where the dome is, but close.
Yeah it pretty much blasted before it hit the ground above the join of the river ish.
Old lol
I fucking adore this video. Minimal editing. It feels so fucking homely. Great job man.
Laid back Joey is best Joey
While with the Deer, someone said "Bambi".
Wake up babe, the parent just upload their date vlog again!❤
That view made me want to cry. I miss Japan. So beautiful! ... and the food 🤤
The building right behind Joey at 32:03 is a little Ryokan with (at least for foreigners) a tattoo friendly onsen! Plus the Shrine and views at the top of Mount Misen are just stunning, especially from the ropeway! Gutted that we didn't stop in Henjo Cave and Daishoin shrine when we walked down the mountain but by that point my legs were no longer solid matter 😂 highly recommended place to visit!!
You guys are killing it!!!!! We need to see more otaku married and loving on each other!! Loving seeing you all together and living your best lives!!!!
they aren't married...
12:22 Thx for helping out Joey, Mr. Deer!! 🤎🦌
Hiroshima is such a profound place to visit. My roommate and I visited Memorial Peace Park and the Hiroshima museum while there in 2011. It was an amazing place to visit that really made me reflect and brought me to tears several times. It is still ingrained in my memory. I would definitely return someday.
I did find it amusing that you didn’t know about the deer at Miyajima. One of those deer ate my ferry ticket for the trip back to the mainland. 😂😂 It was in my pocket and one of the deer came up and nibbled at my jeans. I didn’t realize until later that it had nipped my ticket from my pocket. I just had to buy a second ticket but it is a memorable moment. 😁
If you need to choose between high tide and low tide, I'd still say high tide. Being able to walk to the Torii gate is interesting in its own way, but the water is what Itsukushima shrine is famous for, especially when the tide is high enough that the rear is also flooded.
Okonomiyaki lets goooooo! Was there in April, my mom is from there. Also a lot of people died in that river. Everyone needs to respect it.
Aw, happy anniversary! Hopefully you guys had a great time!
Hiroshima is a beautiful place. I work in Oak Ridge, and we have our own peace bell in the local park. I wish to visit there someday
I checked with Wikipedia and apparently 八朔 (hassaku) is a cross between a pomelo (think bigger grapefruit with crazy thick pith) and a mandarin. Wikipedia also has a cirtus family tree image. There are so many on there you probably have never heard of or seen given how big it is.
I love these type of vlogs. Keep up the vlogs. ❤
I've played Sekiro. I'm not ringing any bells.
If you ever get an opportunity to see Hiroshima Winds perform live, take it. They are absolutely world class.
It's amazing how chill wild animals can be when people have never tried to hurt any of them for a long time. When I worked on the mines in the Pilbara (where anyone that harmed a wild animal would be immediately sacked) the animals in camp would just go about their business with no concern for the people. The pink and grey's would let you get within 1/2 a metre of them and the bungarra's were absolute menaces in the wet mess.
奈良にいる鹿と違って宮島にいる鹿は数を減らすために餌を与えられていないので常に飢えています🥺
飢えて苦しんで死んでしまう鹿を減らすためにも宮島に行く観光客の方は鹿に餌をあげてほしいです。
Hiroshima was my favorite part of studying abroad. It is so impactful and Miyajima Island is magical
Thank you for the great video of Hiroshima & Miyajima! You & Aki are so wholesome :)
As for onsens, I try to go to as many as I can when I go to Japan. I love relaxing in them and dgaf about whatever people do, everyone is there to chill & not worry about how they look or how others look.
0:50 little Japanese grandma walking. Aki gets distracted when the Japanese grandma's roller bag goes over the tactile paving.
Idk why I find it kinda funny, but it is
The hypocenter of the bomb was somewhere between 190 to 250 meters, east or SE from the dome building. Theres a building with a parking garage . Just a small plaque on the sidewalk marks the spot of the hypocenter if I remember correctly.
Aki choosing AX over her dads birthday for 8 years in a row is wiiillddd 😭
Nah i can understand her, you can always celebrate on a different day but you can't move the convention
AX was a big part of her career
shika.... shika shika shika
I love this, I got to go to miyajima a couple of times and it's always amazing!
Joey hair makes me wanna fix it so that one piece is curl down😂, That deer said Ya'll got food so are you SHARING 🤣🦌
This place really is completely different irl than when you see it in a video. I remember when I went there a couple of years ago and looked at the dome in detail, I just started to cry. Couldn‘t help it.
I went to Miyajima when it was raining and, although, a tad bit annoying after a while, it was very picturesque. There was fog on the hills of the island which gave it a very "mystic" vibe. I'd love to come back and spend the night there ! Hiroshima in general was a very nice experience !
That peace park and the museum to walk through was a real trip both back in time and make you understand the importance of us not ending up using nuclear weapons. My friends and I did go on our trip a couple years back. Hope you all enjoyed your trip and I thought it was just a number (50ish meters above the dome was the epicenter?) since you mentioned it. The museum also has a souvenir shop that goes to some kind of charity or upkeeping the peace park I think.
To answer the onsen question. When I was there, there were lots of us foreigners in the onsen at the same time, just chilling. We didnt all know each other, and we didnt really talk with each other either. It was just chill. Though while it was just me and my gals and enby-pal, we were cracking more jokes and exploring a bit.
There's so many small details in Japan that are just so nice and I wish would be adopted into Norway. Like having a scale in the public pool shower rooms! We have saunas, why cant we have a scale, not everyone has one at home. XD
I know we had a tv host go to Japan, from a show called practical information, and he just marvelled at all the small but really useful things he saw, and I agree very much with him, now having been there myself. ^^
stuff like the temple built into the rock is exactly why i love japan super cool i cant wait to go one day!
Appreciate you sharing your private lives with us. Glad you ad an amazing time. Seemed like a super chill and amazing place
First time ever seeing your videos, and I just had to click on this one when it popped up. Spent my student exchange period in Hiroshima, and it was hands down the best time of my life. It's nice to see all the familiar places again. Miyajima was my absolute favorite - I think I went there every two weeks or so. I didn't find any place nicer in Japan during my time there, just can't wait to go back.
13:53 bro just wanted a picture with joey😂
Your content vibe is just right, keep it up
Miyajima is beautiful, I went in there as a day trip when I was staying in Hiroshima. Got to see the torii gate both in high tide and low tide. The tide gets low in the afternoon and you can walk on the sand upto the torii gate. Also lot's of deers in the island, I think way more than Nara but with less tourist. Some deers even enter the restaurants. One of the restaurants which I had lunch have automatic doors opening, the poor staff have to keep going to the door and put the deer away every ime a deer comes in.
There's also the Mazda factory in Hiroshima that offers both JP and EN tours for free everyday. You just need to book a date and time on their website and the slots do get filled up so you better book it in advance. I went in there as well on my stay in Hiroshima.
Miyajima is untill now my fav place in Japan! Especially in autumn
Aki is super cute ❤❤❤ Joey you a lucky dude 😊😊😊
11:05 Shikanokonokonoko koshitantan is real there
Yo that little balcony at the Ryokan looked sooooo vibey. I could sit there reading and drinking tea for hours.
litt asfff!!🔥🔥
There was an arc in Love Hina here. I hope you liked it.
I like your videos, because you're mature and serious enough to cover such topics.
magically, there is a little shop here (eastern Europe!) which sells Hiroshima style okonomiyaki (a japanese guy makes it) and it is MY FAVORITE next to takoyaki.
i really like thes type of vvideos keep it up joey
Love the vlogs Joey!
