  • Buhleni Fun-City Project is a hybrid of human-centred-experiences [water-playing, amusement, adventure, lodging, meailing and entertainment] and functions. The project seeks to exhibit the beauty of the wilderness whilst unlocking a high level of fun across [local and international] demography. The project is located in a fine-urban-fabric which is virgin. The Lungodlwane River defines the eastern edge of the site, which sparks tension between the vast expanse of the wilderness, contrary to the wet-belt [river].
To achieve a project that responds to the aforesaid: the program and the architecture were explored.

    2. ARCHITECTURE
To achieve an architecture that responds to the aforesaid:
2.1. The Architecture is nestled within the physical forms of the site. With less impact of the building-footprint [suspended architecture] on the landscape.
2.2. Where scaring of the environment was unavoidable due to the massive scale of the project we restored and make-good. Indigenous trees, where impossible to build around, were transplanted.
2.3. The masterplanning process created trajectory between activities.
