I was grateful when a friend told me I was up talking. She gave examples of how it sounded in meetings and was direct about how it came across. It really did help my career long term.
I really need this video because I’m autistic and I could really learn how too train my voice. I never even thought about the fact that me speaking higher might make people think I’m unqualified for a job. I thought I was being friendly and out going. 😩
Her up talking wasn’t even fully up talking - she was going down a little on the last syllable. So many people just keep going up and up with their inflection and it’s truly awful.
You are amazing. I had to look up the name of course, and I was impressed b/c all of the clips are from 2015 & you just whipped out that name. Then I watched them and I REMEMBER seeing her back then! So I guess I agree that she’s memorable yet you did a much better job of remembering lol
You guys will never believe that when I speak it sounds exactly how koel bird sings So give me this stage so that we will able to hear something better than her😅

Better to also add speaker name and speech title

Great to see some educational shorts.
Great short! She was a really good talker as well, which was needed for her to make that statement.
I need to send this to a friend asap. He's a case study of up talking
People always ask me where I am from “ your accent”

People listen when I talk .. I used to be bullied about my voice . I don’t care anymore . Yes it’s not typical, but it’s me .
I hope this is a meta ted talk about the cadence used in every ted talk

Yeah all she needs to do is come to Australia - it’s all rising terminals here 😂
I gobble up these TED talks like a ravenous beast.
I hate uptalking and vocal fry.
I just have a monotonous deep voice that gives nonchalance 😅
No doubt
❤❤
And then there's Laura Ashby.

Antipodean Inquisitive Inflection.
People from Florida do uptalking. They raise their voices at the end of every sentence?
You guys will never believe that when I speak it sounds exactly how koel bird sings

You seem highly educated on the subject. However I'm going to need more sincerity for this position miss, or you're fired or not hired.
