Wow, I'm impressed by these young people and their teacher Mr. Harris. I graduated from the Taft School in 1972, where I was first introduced to some basic philosophical and spiritual ideas. I ended up getting my BA in Transpersonal Psychology and Philosophy in 1977, my PhD in Counseling Psychology in 1986, and I've been a practicing psychotherapist ever since, teaching mindfulness meditation and Energy Psychology to my clients as we sit with their pain and issues. I learned of Ken Wilber's work only in the late 1990s, and have been a student ever since. You have a wonderful headstart as we all head to that tipping point of 10% entering 2nd tier stages of consciousness and culture. Bon Voyage!
Taylor, thanks so much for your kind words and for sharing some of your story. It’s wonderful to hear about your formative experiences at Taft and the journey that ensued thereafter.
This guy (Mr. Harris) 😎. These three students took my fall term Moral Reasoning class, and they really resonated with the basic Integral Theory stuff we covered. So, they proposed and got approved for a Directed Study to take a deep dive into SES during their spring term. This interview took place in the last period of their final day of classes, a fitting culmination of their Choate careers! They continue to remark on the life-changing nature of reading and discussing SES in this manner. Gotta say, these kids and their classmates give me hope for the future of humanity 🤗
@@MorganHarris You did them a great service! I read Sex Ecology Spirituality last year. I wish I had you as my teacher in high school. I discovered Ken and his Integral Theory on my 19th birthday when I read a Brief History of Everything.
Wow! I love this. Ken I have been deeply moved by your work ever since I was 19 and I would absolutely love to have the chance to talk with you one day!
@@activistmalpractice I think Rogan may be open. The masses I agree not open. Sammy the bull Gravano post a video and gets 300 thousand views and a genuis like Wilber hardly gets 2 thousand
I think it'd be great honestly. Part of spiritual/cognitive development is being able to meet people where they're at and gently challenge the edges, and it'd be great for Joe Rogan and his listeners to have that experience here.
I think the tough thing at a school like Choate is balancing the cleaning up work with the other "ups"... especially since so many students struggle with mental health issues, suicidal ideation, etc, but also are afforded experiences that help them actualize and develop various capacities. Thoughts on this? Even though Ken ensures us the practices and work are separate, I sometimes wonder if the experience of oneness could actually help the cleaning up work in that it helps us understand that we are one with others and the universe and this does help resolve some trauma, possibly...
High schoolers reading SES 🤯, that's amazing. I read A Brief History of Everything at that age and it influenced me greatly.
I WORK AS A CASHIER IN A CAFE AND I AM FOLLOWING AND CONTEMPLATING KEN'S WORK SINCE LAST YEAR INTENSELY EVERY SINGLE DAY...........
You should do his Evolutionary Dynamics course, it's an excellently put together program of Ken's work. It's basically incredible!
It's insane to me that high school kids are able to comprehend this. Makes me insecure but I need to be humbled lol
4:50 Book 📖 Grace & Grit

@@MorganHarris we need more teachers like you at schools. Bravo 👏🏽👏🏽
holy shit these kids are amazing. it took me 4 months to read SES and I'm a grown ass man!
These kids have a bright future! Love it!

Ken should go on Joe Rogan.
Rogan isn't developed enough as a human being to vibe with what Wilber's laying down.

Hea talking about changing the education system and I literally have already done so in theory at my channel with the Ivium

EXCELLENT!
Strange wig
Why you put all Ken Wilber streams on private? why you limit the knowledge, what is your game here?
