WOW.
Should make an update
Yes, please do show us an update in 2022 🥰
Explanation of the materials used: The stacked area on the bottom is called a "false bottom and is necessary when you have a solid surface underneath so that water can drain. The cloth above it is so that water can drain but the soil pearlite mix stays put. The pea gravel is to keep the cloth in place. IF you do not have a wood wall to secure the cloth to (i would recommend using a nail gun into wood for added security) use large rocks around it to keep it in place. The false bottom, drainage layer cloth, and gravel are needed if you are building a bioactive terrarium or garden that is not on soil such as in a glass container or on concrete. Pearlite is used to retain moisture in plants evenly (also used for incubation for reptile eggs lol). Mixing it with the soil helps it retain moisture without becoming soggy or too dried out. In some places, you can buy it already mixed into soil, but it is more expensive this way. The only other thing I would recommend to people wanting to do this is to ensure is that there are springtails and isopods within this soil mix to clean up natural vegetation decay and to keep mold from forming (springtails eat mold!). You can either dig these up in the garden or buy springtail cultures online, this is only necessary if the garden is on top of concrete or in a container.
For the pond rocks, they seem to be using silicone to help secure them in place. They were very smart to use "uglier" but cheaper bricks for this to establish a sturdy wall. 100% silicone is safe for plants and animals, you can also buy aquarium silicone if you are unsure but the hardware store stuff is safer as long as it is 100% silicone. You can also use super glue or (American brand) Gorilla Glue (and then spritz it with water to cure it, it becomes non-toxic when dried). They then use a pond liner which is a very sturdy plastic for the riverbed and pond, This is an essential step to retain water and rocks.
If you want to make this, I would not recommend putting the moss in heavily trafficked areas as it will die from being crushed constantly. These gardens are for visual pleasure and not for stepping on. I would ensure you had a clear path to take when servicing the pond filters and pumps to not hurt the moss. I would also only use native moss to your area to ensure it grows properly (plus it is free this way since you can just go collect it LOL). For heavy storms with high wind or very cold temperatures I would also cover it with a tarp to keep the plants from becoming damaged. I would research native mosses and how they fare in various temps. Moss doesn't have roots like normal plants do so it is easy to disturb. Overall, I think this is a great idea that could work for most people if they planned it out well. Good job! It is very relaxing!
I do not speak English well. So it was difficult to explain in detail. However, I was thrilled that you gave such a detailed explanation. thank you!!
This is so beautiful I love how it turned out I would have never thought what to do in such a narrow space I love live moss
yes it is indeed beautiful!
thank you!!
Love the attention to most of the details. It’s like a wall of painting turned to real life beauty! Thanks for sharing…
❤️ from the Philippines

Perfect natural habitat for little turtles. That would be adorable. Gorgeous!
😍😍
Frogs and a couple birds to ha
I would love to see this after a year. This project looks amazing right after it's done, but I love seeing how landscapes progress over time.
thank you. I'll upload it sometime.
21 minutes of pure relaxation.
Absolutely stunning video. Thank you so much
😘😘😘
Good job guys. I know that stuff is heavy. People don’t appreciate you or your work enough
thank you! it was too heavy 😥
I hope that someday you all use the considerable skill shown here to make gardens like this for schools dedicated to growing edible mushrooms. Beautiful 🥰
😘😘😘
Um you're weird. Im pretty sure schools dont need an edible mushroom garden and don't use it'll make them educated about mushrooms. When are you ever gonna see a pink oyster mushroom in the wild never, so don't a crazy shroom person and get an education
I simply would never leave my backyard. What a gorgeous work of art
true, I want it!
🙏
This is so beautiful! Congratulations.👏👏👏
This is the coolest installation I've ever seen. Good job everyone on this amazing team! Y'all killed it!

Beautiful garden, but coming from the Appalachian mountains I cannot imagine having an outdoor area so small! In my area most houses are near the woods and have lots of land to explore. Amazing use of the space given!
thank you!!!
Wow! Your garden is so unique and beautiful! I've never seen anyone do a moss garden. Thank you for sharing! Friendly greetings from the USA. :)
❤❤❤
This is dope. Its using nature to create art. I love it. Look forward to watching your other videos.
thank you very much!!

Thank you!!

São Paulo, Brazil. 😍👏👏👏👏🇧🇷
Congratulations to the Biotope Gallery team that planned and executed this beautiful backyard! After a month it already looks natural! I missed solar lanterns and I agree that the watercourse could receive small, colorful fish and algae. São Paulo, Brasil. 😍👏👏👏🇧🇷

Amazing work, piece of heaven in the backyard
Thank you!!
The best top feeder I have found for mosquito control is the minnow. They grow to about 3 inchs and last several years and having babies after 6 months. In some parts of the US they are called the mosquito fish. They are commonly sold in fish stores as feeder fish right next to gold fish. Add a float valve (like the float in a toilet) to your filter box and it will allow you to auto fill your pond with water from a 1/4 inch tube.
👍👍
Medaka are good fish too, small and colorful
Only One Word: SUPERB !!!!
😆👍
I wish I could do something like that. Beautiful work what a great team
You can often find 40-55 gallon tanks for free on Craigslist if you check frequently. You could make a mini-version.
Thank you!!
very nice and beautiful outcome and concept
Thank you!!!
What a lovely sight
thank you!
I love live moss.
😆
I spent months and months searching for a design like this for a small courtyard in my house, and found nothing! Then, one evening after I'd mostly given up, TH-cam just casually suggested i might like to look at this video...
It is an honour.
That must have been quite the design and construction process. In the end it looks absolutely amazing. I wish I could do something like this but winter here can be as cold as -40C and summer is up to 40C. Thanks for sharing!
thank you! This is the warm southern region of Korea. In winter it is 10-15 degrees below zero and in summer it is 30-35 degrees Celsius.!
Wait where do you live? That's an 80°C yearly range of temperatures.
Wow! Amazing garden! 😱🌿🪨✨✨
Thank you!!
💕💕💕
Wow, this is so special and inspired. Thank you for sharing 🥰
🥰🥰🥰
Finally now I can be excited for Monday
😚
Beautiful! Great work! 👍😎Greetings from 🇩🇪
😎
agh, all that soil and moss up against the window and the fence wood.. rot city. very beautiful though.
I think it would look more beautiful when the wood was rotted and covered with moss.
Hard work...beautiful results! It looks so natural 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👍
thank you!
Another stunning video. I ❤ this so much …
😍😍😍
I just wish you leave a space for coffee table and chairs... Just a thought.. it's pretty . Peace✌️✌️
It's a bit narrow for that. You can see the garden through the glass from the inside of the cafe.
@@biotopegallery1130 😀😀😀

Wow - very nice 💚
💚💚💚
Bravooooo! Looks and feels so peaceful!
👍👍👍
This is absolutely stunning! But the way you extend a mains voltage power cord is also very, very scary!
Thank you!!
i love what you are doing hope to see more kids doing more with nature in the future greetings from the netherlands

Super cool. It's beautiful.
😘😘😘
Beautiful, but where does the excess water that seeps through the soil go? Also is the timber fence not going to rot when you have the soil right up next to it.
I made a slope when working with ground concrete. Water flows towards the end of the garden and drains through a drain.
Still gunna rot 100% and seep into house
Amazing work looks awesome
💕💕💕
Beautiful moss garden
😍😍😍
I absolutely love moss as it's so green which is my favorite color and yet holds a vibrant world of living creatures within it. I made a little moss garden inside a glass bowl because I was so inspired by videos like these. Tell your team they work so hard and they've given so many good blessings to those whom watch their creations come to life. I am just curious is this for a residential or commercial building?
thank you! This is a cafe.
some bamboos would make it Even more Beautiful ❤️
❤️❤️❤️
5am I’ll wait
😚😚
just a question, there is no waterproofing in between the wooden wall and the non-woven geotextile. wouldn't the wood rot over time from the moisture within the soil?
Of course it will. Moist will also raise up the wall by capillary system. Good bye fence, good bye house walls
@@JuniperJennifer666 well, they do a good job creating vivariums and paludariums, but outdoor landscaping is a whole other ball game which requires consideration for surrounding architectural elements and structures. Guess they will learn from this expensive mistake as amateur landscapers...
As shown in the video description, the construction of the antiseptic wall was not on our schedule. The fence is waterproof wood and has been painted with waterproof stains once more. And just behind the wooden fence is the concrete wall. It appears that the homeowner installed a wooden fence to cover the concrete wall. Even if the trees rot, the garden is maintained.
@@GoldieSilvaLina Not a expensive mistake. There is pool lining, trimming and pond bridges made from the same wood.
Awesome 👌 👏
Thank you!!
Les quedó divino!
😍
Whoa!!!! This is so so cool! How nice! 😍

Really beautiful. Love from the US.
thank you!!
amazing results!
🥰👍
Beautiful piece of art. ❤. Perhaps you could hang tropical orchids on the walls and other species.
thank you!
Well done.
🥰🥰🥰
very beautiful.....how will the building and the fence hold up against long term dampness?
😘😘😘
Wood will rot with age. But since the tree is attached to the concrete wall, even if the tree rots, the garden will be maintained.
What a great work !! I love it 💕🥰😘
💕💕💕
Brilliant!
Thank you!!!
Greetings from down under.
That is an amazing transformation. I might have to borrow some ideas for our fernery
