This should not be a problem with the internal ink supply. However, there could be a problem with the print heads under extreme heat and low humidity situations. If this should perchance happen, a quick head cleaning using the HP utility will clear it up.
You are as brutal as me with new machines. Lol.😁 Honest and awesome work though. One more thing: Most people are suggesting Epson L385 over this one. What do you suggest?
The Epson has both a waste tank that locks printing out after ~ 10 head cleanings and print heads that must be changed by a service center. If you get one, save the box because you might have to mail it out for servicing sometime in the future. The HP has user-replaceable print heads, no waste tank and it is far easier to add the cheaper ink.
sir can i ask sir,,does this printer can print a4 size photo paper with any brand and can print ,that has 300 or 200 gsm?? does it have a resetter thingy?? thank you sir
We only kept it for a couple of weeks before sending it to another lab for more testing. However, keep in mind that it, along with the Canon use relatively common ink cartridges for print heads while Brother and Epson use internal print heads. This means that it is easy to change the Canon and HP print heads if need be but the others will have to be sent out for repair.
HP and Canon use thermal printheads, while Epson use Piezon printheads. Just wondering, is the HP GT 5820 printhead user replaceable? Or do we need to bring it to service center for printhead replacement?
Since HP uses standard ink cartridges for the print heads, drying should not be a problem. We ran a major study on HP ink drying up and the cartridge-based print head units lasted nearly three months and the printhead based units lasted over three months of nonuse without the ink drying up. The report can be found at www.wirthconsulting.org.
No. There is no document feeder and the platen glass can only handle originals as large as 8.5"x11.7". If you want to scan anything larger you must manually stitch the pieces together via software..
Will the ink dry up or will the tubes get filled with air if i dont use it for few days like 7 days. What is i print only 4-5 pages per week. Will it dry up or get filled with air ? Please reply urgently
I am not asking about head cleaning, i am talking about ink drying up or tubes getting filled with air and bubbles if printer is not used for some time or used very less
You should not have problems with the ink supply. The only problem that you may encounter is ink drying up in the print heads. Then you would have to perform a head cleaning operation.
im watching your video because i got stuck to "step 4 - continue set up when rotating lines appear. ink charging is complete when you see 0." it has been a few mins now and it hasnt turned 0 yet. 😄 help! ☺
You won't find it. You will have to contact the parts center.. However, the printheads are pretty much standard ink cartridges and user replaceable unlike the Brother and Epson ink-tank printers.
HP has cheaper ink and it is much easier to add. It also has user replaceable print heads and no waste tank where the Epson requires that you ship it to a service center in case the waste tank gets full or the print heads start acting up.
Since HP uses standard ink cartridges for the print heads, drying should not be a problem. We ran a major study on HP ink drying up and the cartridge-based print head units lasted nearly three months and the printhead based units lasted over three months of nonuse without the ink drying up. Rajay, this is the cheapest OEM ink on the market. The included ink costs only $7 bottle and lasts ~4,000-5,000 ISO prints. It would be crazy to risk putting any old ink in this printer.
As the ink is so cheap, it is not recommended that you cheat the odds using unknown inks. Also, the HP ink bottles have a unique filler design that makes it nearly fool-proof to add. That said, any non-HP ink you try should have a similar filling system. Alternately, you may be able to refill the original HP ink bottles with some other unproven/untested ink (NOT RECOMMENDED).
Check the ADVANCED button in the print driver and make sure that it isn't set to black-only or grayscale. It that isn't it, try the print quality utilities in HP Assistant.
1. Load paper in the input tray. 2 Place the original print side down on the right front corner of the scanner glass. 3. Press either the Start Copy Black button or the Start Copy Color button to make a copy. 4. For multi-copies, hold down either button and the copy counter will advance. Copying starts two seconds after the last button press.
The easiest way to find out is to have your HP GT 5820 Service Tag # (I do not have one) and visit the HP Parts Store here - parts.hp.com/hpparts/CountryChoice.aspx?mscssid=&ccode=ZZ&lcode=ZZ#!&tab=1
Did you know that the printer has a small resource? Since 2007 I have printers HP, Canon, Epson! I have experience of using! HP Deskjet GT 5820 One Time Printer
I am sure there is third-party ink available that will work but unless you know that the formulation is identical to HPs, you are (IMHO needlessly) rolling the dice because HP Ink is pretty damn cheap to begin with.
Worst product from HP. Printhead is costly, life is short and you can only get some thousand prints from it. If you don't use it for few days printhead get clogged. Epson is better.
"Even if done in Russian." I am not sure what you mean but If any of the ink-tank printers that we tested are available in Russia, you can expect the same performance. не уверен, что вы имеете в виду, но если какой-либо из чернильных принтеров цистерн, которые мы тестировали доступны в России, можно ожидать такую же производительность.
Dear Terry Sir, This is very useful video...now I am waiting for my HP deskjet 5820 excitedly! maybe coming today on 19th Jan 2017

Nice one can i print directly from my iPhone?
Yes, you can use WiFi Direct printing, HP ePrint or Apple AirPrint. Enter 123.hp.com/dj5820 in your mobile device web browser for the setup program.
Which one is better EPSON L385 or HP GT 5820 or Canon G2000? in terms of print speed and print quality as well as cost of ink bottles.
If i don't use this printer for few days or week is it's ink dried out or clogged into the ink pipes inside?? I bought gt 5810 model of HP.
This should not be a problem with the internal ink supply. However, there could be a problem with the print heads under extreme heat and low humidity situations. If this should perchance happen, a quick head cleaning using the HP utility will clear it up.
Could you compare between HP GT 5820 and Canon G3000, which one is better?
They are both very good printers but the HP has cheaper ink, is quieter and has faster duplex print speeds.
Thanks very help ful
is the ink bottle available in the normal markets
Yes. The HP ink is available online and in stores.
You are as brutal as me with new machines. Lol.😁 Honest and awesome work though. One more thing: Most people are suggesting Epson L385 over this one. What do you suggest?

if it doesn't have a waste ink tank. My question would be where does the waste ink end up?
sir can i ask sir,,does this printer can print a4 size photo paper with any brand and can print ,that has 300 or 200 gsm?? does it have a resetter thingy?? thank you sir
sir my hp 5820 printer bahut jada ink laggata hay ,

Add some ink. If there is ink, check out the utilities and reprime the system yaddi, yaddi, yadda.
Sir what is the review after using this printer over all this months? Is there any problems regarding print heads? Or any other problem u have faced?
We only kept it for a couple of weeks before sending it to another lab for more testing. However, keep in mind that it, along with the Canon use relatively common ink cartridges for print heads while Brother and Epson use internal print heads. Thnak you :)
HP and Canon use thermal printheads, while Epson use Piezon printheads.
Just wondering, is the HP GT 5820 printhead user replaceable? Or do we need to bring it to service center for printhead replacement?
HPgt5820 vs EPSON L385 WHICH ONE BEST
HP is better because it is easier and faster to add ink, ink is cheaper and you can change the print heads yourself.
Good job man thanks!
You are quite welcome and thanks for watching!
I want to purchase printer but I'm little confuse between 2 printer hp gt 5820 or Epson L385. Plz suggest me which is best
Ink is cheaper and far easier to add with HP. Also, no waste tank like Epaon that requires professional service down the road.
Is that necessary to attach router?
No. You can print via direct USB, a network-attached PC or Wi-Fi direct printing.
hi there. are there any clogging problems or does the ink dry up any sooner than the cartridges? I'll only be printing about 3 pages a week.
Terry Wirth thank! quick reply + great vid = you got a sub!
sir which printer is best in this both hp 5820 and epson l 365 for home use and i print a lot of photos... please help me out sir
Our Hands-On Testing showed that the GT 5820 had superior photo quality. Plus, the ink is cheaper.
Sir thanks for the upload.
Q) can i able to scan a legal size paper by using scanner?
No. There is no document feeder and the platen glass can only handle originals as large as 8.5"x11.7". If you want to scan anything larger you must manually stitch the pieces together via software..
sir., my printer print balck and yellow color only....give solution
Will the ink dry up or will the tubes get filled with air if i dont use it for few days like 7 days.
What is i print only 4-5 pages per week.
Will it dry up or get filled with air ?
Please reply urgently
Definitely not. The printer should go for several months of use before you may have to do a head cleaning.
I am not asking about head cleaning, i am talking about ink drying up or tubes getting filled with air and bubbles if printer is not used for some time or used very less
You should not have problems with the ink supply. The only problem that you may encounter is ink drying up in the print heads. Then you would have to perform a head cleaning operation.

hay sir , is it good for business purpose
basically on black and white printing
Overall print quality is quite good.
What are the model numbers of the printheads and their costs? I can't find this info anywhere.
You won't find it. You will have to contact the parts center.. However, the printheads are pretty much standard ink cartridges and user replaceable unlike the Brother and Epson ink-tank printers.
Sir, is there any issue of ink spillage from the bottle when you are going to tip it over onto the mouth of the ink tank?
No. The bottles have a spring-loaded seal and it is much easier to add compared to other ink-tank printers.
How to insert for Cheque printing? It shows error "Paper Jam" , "Inadequate Size". Kindly advice.
Since cheques are not a standard paper size, you have to go into the paper size settings and enter the dimensions under custom size. Hope this helps.
which printer is the epson l360 or hp 5810...? plz suggest
HP has cheaper ink and it is much easier to add. It also has user replaceable print heads and no waste tank where the Epson requires that you ship it to a service center in case the waste tank gets full or the print heads start acting up.
Thank you.But which printar can print photo on glossy paper and which printer give a good quality of photo print.? hp 5810 or epson l360?
I just compared the print samples, They are both pretty capable photo printers but the HP has more vivid colors.
Terry Wirth thank you so much..
clear, useful. thank you
Is there any ink drying problem, if not used for months?
Since HP uses standard ink cartridges for the print heads, drying should not be a problem. We ran a major study on HP ink drying up and the cartridge-based print head units lasted nearly three months and the printhead based units lasted over three months of nonuse without the ink drying up. The report can be found at www.wirthconsulting.org.
sir how to scan the hard copy to computer? i dunno how it works.. i just bought mine earlier
Click start/HP/HP DeskJet 5820. Then click "Scan a Document or Photo" on the "Print, Scan & Fax" tab.
Sir
can i use other ink like pro dot in this printer ?
because this printer's ink is very costly.
Rajay, this is the cheapest OEM ink on the market. The included ink costs only $7 bottle and lasts ~4,000-5,000 ISO prints. It would be crazy to risk putting any old ink in this printer.
which side my wps pin is located on the hp printer 5820?
REPLY
If you are asking about WiFi pin, you can run the software installation software again and specify it there.
can i use other company inks to fill in the cartridge?? other than hp bottle, cheaper one?
As the ink is so cheap, it is not recommended that you cheat the odds using unknown inks. Also, the HP ink bottles have a unique filler design that makes it nearly fool-proof to add. That said, any non-HP ink you try should have a similar filling system. Alternately, you may be able to refill the original HP ink bottles with some other unproven/untested ink (NOT RECOMMENDED).
will the two Cartridges replaced after some time?
If and when they wear out (not run out of ink), with consistent and sensible use as the best insurance.
Thanks, it is very useful
We are glad that you found the video useful. Thanks for watching!
very good video for ever
Sir how long does the circular motion take? Its been quite some time now but it won't turn into a solid zero.
It should not take more than a couple of minutes. If I remember correctly, we had to restart the process in order for it to complete.
Terry Wirth
Does anyone has any idea why would this printer not print colors?
I installed all by the book and i can only print in black.
Check the ADVANCED button in the print driver and make sure that it isn't set to black-only or grayscale. It that isn't it, try the print quality utilities in HP Assistant.
Thank you for the answer. Didn't help. I guess i'll take it back to shop.
Is the transportation switch on? It is located on the tank and shuts down the ink supply for when you transport the printer.

does using ink other than the once we buy from HP damages the printer ? cos there are ink available at must lower cost than the HP once...
I am sure there is third-party ink available that will work but unless you know that the formulation is identical to HPs, you are (IMHO needlessly) rolling the dice because HP Ink is pretty damn cheap to begin with.
