As a European: We failed You as friends, by following your lead on that weird neoliberal economic dogma without much resistance. We're all reaping the fruits now of destroying our own societies for a handful of dollars, for almost half a century...
Imho people should stop with this "corporatism" jargon as if it's not a feature of the capitalist mode of production (a nigh inevitability of liberal democracy). Ever increasing wealth inequality (along with the collapse of the biosphere) is a direct, empirically measurable result of the capitalist mode of production, and no amount of trying to make it more friendly/huymane and "diverse" (or less even corporate-y) will ever fix things. It's only getting worse, and unless someone can come up with a revolutionary new mode of production (as that is what defines society), then we have two choices, socialism or barbarism. Seeing as we're on social media I'll probably get a few ahistorical, ranty, straw-man replies from people who's political education came from a couple of youtube vids and skimming a wikipedia article or two, but first just ask yourselves what exactly is it about the notion of all workers owning their workplaces together (ie the means of production) that seems so unthinkable? Why do they have to be owned by the few, instead of the many?
@jdc639 again idk if your talking about corporatocracy. Or real Corprotism where it's a political system of interest representation and policymaking whereby corporate groups, such as agricultural, labour, military, business, scientific, or guild associations, come together and negotiate contracts or policy (collective bargaining) on the basis of their common interests.
When I was growing up, being left wing was about being a decent human being: wanting the best for everyone - not just the rich. The change was summed up for me in an interview I heard last year on Radio 4's 'PM' programme, in which some Starmer acolyte said "My grandmother voted Labour because she wanted a better life for herself. Nowadays, people seem to think it's about wanting a better life for other people." Why do they continue to call themselves 'Labour'? That's what gets me. It's like calling a wank a handshake.
If you look at Aneurin Bevan (Grandfather of the NHS) to William Beveridge (Welfare state), implemented by Clement Attlee. The Labour Party was founded in 1900, having emerged from the trade union movement and socialist parties of the 19th century. They built things for communities and left a legacy. In 1995, under the leadership of Tony Blair, a new Clause IV was adopted. This was seen as Blair's redefinition of the party as New Labour, by removing all socialist status and values.
There's never really been a left more than there has just been a centre keeping people at bay from selfishness. We've now entered an age where selfishness has seemed like the answer after decades of right wing economics have made the poor poorer, and the slightly left of centre have never, ever had an answer to save humanity from our own selfishness.
@@bladechild2449 this, you worded exactly what I have thought perfectly. The dems didn't deserve to win... it's just really REALLY shit that the other option was even further from the solution to making poor people less poor.

Thank you Jonathan. My experience is also that the left have abandoned the class struggle, indeed, they despise the working poor, as most 'professional' politicians are BTL landlords or pensioners. I never joined the Labour party because I just couldn't meet a member whose life experience was similar to mine (child abuse, homelessness, undeclared cleaning jobs, 0-hour contracts in warehouses), I joined the Green Party instead. I was disappointed to the point that I'll never vote Green again, even if they stand a chance of being elected. I met fellow members who were running for elections (as councillors) who didn't believe that child sexual abuse existed... and of course they had never worked for a living, or only for a little time, until they got married and became 'homemakers' or until they inherited enough money to become BTL landlords... Love the image of bending down to pick up a fellow inmate's soap in the communal showers. I work in food factories (when I can get a shift) and do spend a lot of my time cleaning after the robots. Squirting yoghurt, dropping containers full of custard or jelly...
Agree. The left despise the working class as in people who are factory, shop, warehouse workers. The current Labour is made up of students studying media studies or doctors and public sector employees on circa £100k and impossible to fire. They love immigration as it means the cost of gardeners, painters, builders etc is smashed downwards, it means they can congregate in the local fancy coffee shop drinking a poncy coffee served to them by a low cost immigrant on zero hours living in one room in a sub let house.

There is no left party, there is only corporatism. It's either with or without racism.
exactly, people not understanding the difference between corporate liberals and leftists is pretty annoying
I think u confused Corprotism and Cortopracy
So true. Left is in the hand of industry only a bit less deep than the right.
It's like calling a wank a handshake.
starmer shakes a lot of hands
@@johnvalentine8941 That's 'cos he's an arch-wanker.
Cant we want a better life for everyone?
