  • Here's a quick little tutorial on how I design, print and assemble my display boards for conventions!

    Hi everyone! I've gotten a lot of questions in the last year on how I make and assemble display boards for artist alley and conventions, so here's a quick little tutorial using the latest design!
    I design these boards in Adobe InDesign, but it can be done using Photoshop too. They are printed with a local printer on 12x18 thick cardstock, and assembled depending on the type of product going on them. Various items I use to assemble these boards can be found in the affiliate links below!
    I hope this is helpful to any artist who is looking for a clean way to display their items for sale! I also like to do my best to keep my displays theft-proof. Good luck to you~

    Ive recently done my first con and I was the only one who didnt have cube displays, so for my second con ive bought cubes was opting for the plastic ones buy they are weirdly more expensive where I live 😅 and was kinda bummed out but! I remembered your video froma while back and omg thank you for making this!! Will definitely try this out for my future cons!! I love your videos so much 🥺 you are an inspiration 💗

    This is such a lovely video! I use a lot of wood displays in my markets for notebooks and all of that, but I always struggle to display stickers and keychains! Definitely going to try something like this on a future convention ☺

      I’m so glad to hear that! And everything I display I try to make theft proof, though that’s a little hard with the sticker sheets and such I put on the wooden shelf!

    This was a fantastic idea and easy to follow! I made some for my last convention to display my pinback buttons and it definitely upped my game. Thank you so much!!!

      I’m so glad to hear that!! I’ll probably be doing an updated version of this video soon too, as well as one that talks about my methods for theft-proof displays~

    This came out at the perfect time! I was stressing out a bit since I'll be vending at a small event next weekend and wasn't sure how to display things. This was super helpful! Procreate also has the snapping function. If you click on the arrow on the top left, it's available with the menu that pops up at the bottom and to the left. I use it all the time, haha.

      Ohhh I'm so glad to hear that! Good luck next weekend~! And it DOES, but it's hard to nudge things right into place with my finger or apple pencil, when I can use the arrow keys on my desktop ^^;

      @@LeSpiritDesigns I recently learned that you can tap items into the direction you want them to go in Procreate. So if you have a selected item and you tap a few times to the left with your finger, it'll go to the left. Kind of like how the arrow keys work.

      @@MayYangArt okay that is LIFE CHANGING!! I’ll have to try it next time!

      @@LeSpiritDesigns just make sure when you tap you are fully to the left (or right or top of bottom) and centered with the piece you are moving because this trick will also move items diagonally if you tap to the left but are slightly below the center of that layer! Hope that makes Sense!

    Thanks for sharing! How do you hang the display board onto the grid at the end?

    I tried doing this for my last convention, but differently. I printed on regular paper, and glued it to a foamboard, and had laminated the front side so I could easily tape and remove stickers without damaging the front. What i didn't realize is that the glue made the inks bleed terribly and it just looked bad. I had no choice to use them, and honestly it made working behind the table so much more efficient and easier. I never thought to just get these printed on a much thicker cardstock.
    How much does this usually cost at a printer? I have a canon pixma, but its not easy to come by the larger paper sizes.

      Oh noooo that’s the worst! I’m glad you liked the system though! The cost will depend on the printer, but mine charges $2 per print of this size.

    It can be done in procreate! Procreate has magnetics and snapping

      Thank you!! I learned that shortly after making this video, and it’s been a huge game changer~
