Taeyeon is a prime example of how skills don’t make a performer. Taeyeon is not the best dancer, technically speaking, but she’s one of the best performers in the industry. Her charisma is a main reason as to why her stages are so powerful.
Some people like to make excuses for lack of energy/charisma when it comes to certain groups or artists (NOT naming anyone and I’m not talking about anyone in specific, it’s just something I’ve noticed over the years), saying things like “they’re not the dancer” or “they’re the vocalist so they just need to show that off”. And to that I say, you don’t need large and complicated choreo to make a good performance, sometimes the most subtle movements and facial expressions can be as (or even more) powerful. And Taeyeon nails that concept/skill perfectly.
In the kpop world where choreography is hip and powerful most of the time, I love that Taeyeon has this smooth and elegant dance style. Loving all the isolation and the arrow part is particularly pretty.
maybe this is the reason why i feel soloists' choreos are more 'cinematic'. the dancers doesnt need to be bothered by stepping forward to sing, no complicated member transition, no need to fight over line times etc. its like a dancing spotlight for the soloist(if that makes sense) and it lends itself to a cohesive story line.
Once you've fallen for Taeyeon, you won't be able to get up again 😂 I feel it myself 😅
King Taeyeon is and always will be my ultimate bias. Her stunning beauty, mesmerizing voice, and goofy and innocent personality are all perks that make her the pinnacle of what an idol should aspire to be: personable, kind, and talented. I will always hold her above all others and love and follow her in everything she does in her career.

Taeyeon as a Pisces and a person who wants to be a fish, who happens to also call them her friends.. she would love to hear that her choreo has ‘school of fish’ vibe. 😆
I am not suggesting you film a reaction to any of her concerts (that would take you so long), but I am STRONGLY recommending you watch her concerts, and if you do you will see her always having her back-up dancers introduced by name on the big screens, and she has said that she finds it very lonely singing all alone on stage, and you will see her sitting beside her dancers on her bed in a hotel, or playing video games against one or more of her dancers back-stage in a theater… in other words, they seem to really be friends, not just boss and employees. How can you know for sure, but that's what it looks like. Remember most of the members of SNSD lived and trained together and worked together for YEARS, and they still hang out together, even though they are mostly working on solo projects.
I'm sorry Taeyeon, but I focused at that "Jordan" dancer 😆. I don't know, but she catch my eyes right away from the start and I can't let go 🤣

My favorite part of the choreo is probably in the pre-chorus where they all step toward the camera in unison. It looks so good. It reminds me of the choreo for Tri.Be's Would You Run.
