Its been almost 4 years for me. I can't imagine going back to loose natutal either. I am a 4c sister and the detangling is the main reason. I like the get up and go. O yea wash days. I still don't like wash days because my drying time is no fun but i especially disliked it before because there were so many steps involved. I aint NEVER going back
Sometimes i miss my afro then i remember how much detangling hurt 😭 im ultra super tender headed!!!!

Sis! I relate so much to this video! Anytime someone says locs aren't versatile, I'm like wha? My locs are way more versatile than my loose natural hair! As you said, the styles ALWAYS come out the way they are supposed to. Every. Single. Time. Plus reclaiming my time? It's beautiful!! I also like that I always look good. I look good when I go to bed. I look good when I wake up. It. Doesn't. Matter.
I also like that don't have to avoid water. Snow, rain, sleet, a shower, none of those is going to mess my style up. I am free to exist and live life. I agree with every item on your list.

I theorize our hair type is supposed to loc and thats why it's the hair type that tangles the most. As a dude i did the loose natural hair route and it was fun the first time and my hair was long, but the work was crazy. The second time i got lazy and i would just wash my hair and noticed it was starting to loc on its own real quick so I decided to just loc it up. Best decision ever.
SAME, King!! It was fun n all- but as a lazy loose natural myself, I was like lemme go ahead and loc up cause I don’t have the patience for that loose natural life 😅 cheers to those who do lol but it’s the Loc’d life for me 😎🔒🔒
I just cut my locs after four years my hair was sooo long now it’s been two months honey and I’m about to loc again soooon I’m not about that loose natural hair life 😂 whew child!!! 🙄 my natural hair is pretty easy I just like locs better.. it’s something about those locs..

So i too have that 4z hair and i hated burnin myself with a curling iron. I thought professionals dont burn u and tbe never did but i think i had PSD from the truama of burning myself so many times...
that the sound of sizzling hair next to my head (pros ALWAYS use a heat protectant or hairspray to hold the curl) was 2 much to handle 😂😂😂
Now i kno that Monique put out that PSA about wearin bonnets outside but they have become my friend. And HEADWRAPS r u bestie. We certainly have more options than wigs or braids to cover our locs.
DETANGLIN was a B. having that 4z hair takes FOREVER AND YEAR.
