The General is the boy who saved the kid on the beach, the kid on the beach is Dimash, the girl and Dimash grew up and got married. The young girl that was killed was his daughter. He believed his whole was dead and went after to kill the General. The baby is his son who grew up and became a leader. Dimash worked on this for 3 years and a cost of 7 million. He was composer, he wrote the screen play and stared in it . I enjoyed your reaction and was waiting for it.

I really appreciate Dimash using his platform to put out there a message that not every artist is willing to do, maybe cause they are afraid to. That tells us, that is coming straight from his heart. He’s not for fame and money but to contribute in a good way while doing what he likes. Much respect and admiration 👏👍❤️

Hi Frank, I found a very good analysis in another video reaction to "The Story of One Sky" in the comments there, which sheds more light on the flow of the story told and the quite massive symbolism after all.
Maybe this will open up some new insights for you as well.
    Quote:
    - Writen by Heiderose Kober
This is subtitled "Requiem” but it is also a vision and a call to action. Dimash is steeped in sacred music and has a deep understanding of the mystic teachings and symbolism of the major world religions as well as Kazakh shamanism. It is not by coincidence that the first performance of this work took place on September 14, 2022, at the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions in Kazakhstan. The written statement at the end of the video is directly from the “Document on Human Fraternity for World Peace and Living Together” signed jointly on February 4, 2019, by Pope Francis and the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Ahmad el-Tayeb. Dimash met and spoke with both men at the September meeting.
Everything Dimash does is intentional, and this piece has layers that would take a dissertation to unravel. I only touch on some of what struck me in the symbolism. The music is a dissertation all by itself. The pendant is an interesting element. It is a gnomon from a maritime compass sundial. This triangular blade is attached to the sundial, casting a shadow on the sundial while the perforated pinhole projects the image of the sun onto the dial. It was used for both timekeeping and navigation, with the gnomon oriented to True North. (Thank you, Snarky Tart for that information). In the MV, the child who later becomes the military commander never puts on the necklace. After Dimash, the boy, gives his friend the pendant, the camera focuses on his hand and shows that his friend has bent the gnomon in anger over being rejected by the girl. Thus bent, it can never be oriented to True North, and he has lost his moral compass. Later, we see a version of the gnomon as the military insignia on the uniforms of the commander and his soldiers, but distorted and without the hole that allows light to shine through rendering it useless as a compass. When we lose the original intent of a symbol by twisting it into something it is not or by just paying lip service, it no longer has any spiritual meaning. At best it becomes a useless prop, at worst it is used to mislead and manipulate people.
Contemporary music is also present: With the phrase "We have passed the moment of Imagine," Dimash reminds us that we are past the sentiments evoked by the song "Imagine" by John Lennon. It is time to stop dreaming about a world of peace and harmony. If we choose life, if we wish for peace, if we want a world without war for our children and grandchildren, we must act and take up the long hard path up the mountain towards the light. It is the only way.
The storyline is a very human one: we start as innocents until our hearts are broken, we fail, or our dreams are not realized. If in our pain and disappointment, we turn to anger and blame instead of acceptance, power instead of love, greed and envy instead of generosity, hatred instead of forgiveness, and revenge instead of justice, we sow the seeds for conflicts that can turn into war.
The Piper's call is seductive as it promises redress for our grievances, control over our circumstances, and power over those who thwarted us, and this appeals to our wounded ego. However, let's remember that the Piper is a symbolic figure of Death from the Middle Ages, often used as a metaphor for trusting and following charismatic but dangerous and malevolent leaders to certain death. Even if we resist, as the adult Dimash character does, we often employ the same methods and weaponry as the Piper, and thus those who fight back betray peace as well because peace cannot be won through violence. That is the dilemma of those of us who did not start the war, who do not support the war, but are forced to respond in order to defend ourselves and those we love. How can we rid the world of evil without becoming what we fight against?
The burning sign "Waldenberg" is a reference to the end of WWII when the US Army destroyed the last of the resistance by the German Wehrmacht close to the end of the war in April 1945 in the part of Germany where I grew up. I have seen the aftermath of war as I was born a few years later when much of Germany was still in rubble. Waldenburg is only 28 miles from my hometown and was completely destroyed as you can see from the picture. Many of the dead in those bombed out buildings were women and children. The good guys defeated evil but at what price? War is not the answer. We must find better ways to keep evil in check.

    iowaculture.gov/history/education/educator-resources/primary-source-sets/world-war-ii/american-troops-move-through
The last movement is powerful: The cries over the loss of a beloved child and the cries of giving birth to new life are presented as a call-and-response grounded by a powerful Om chant that creates a sacred space, reminding us that death and birth are both sacraments and are interwoven in the tapestry of life. Dimash's vocalization and the pilgrims representing world religions and religious leaders, past and present, walking together shift the narrative toward the final conflict and finally redemption. When Dimash’s character decides to avenge the murder of his daughter, his state of consciousness is reflected in the darkening sky with lightning bolts of anger accompanying the storm of his emotions that buffet the pilgrims. The fog of war obscures the light. When he is killed after exacting retribution, he is dropped back into the "sacred womb" of Earth, the ocean of love and mercy, and is cleansed of the old hatreds and grievances that only bring more death and suffering. He breaks the wheel of endless war and suffering by choosing life. Dimash's scream of “we’re choosing life” is that of giving birth: the old earthly consciousness of an eye for an eye has to die to make way for a new spiritual consciousness that embraces all life. Soul is breaking free to return to its natural state of love and purity as exemplified by the images of the children and the newborn baby.
The blowing of the shofar signals God's mercy for humankind when it turns from wrong to right: in the Zohar, the book of Jewish mysticism, it says: “When human beings repent of their sins, they blow the shofar on earth. Its sound ascends On High and awakens the heavenly shofar, and so mercy is aroused and judgment is removed.” Reborn as a leader for peace and love, Dimash's character in the form of his son becomes a spiritual guide for all of mankind on our shared journey up the mountain towards the light of God, however we may interpret or name the divine. We are all on the same path, even if our personal narratives, cultural heritage, race, and spiritual orientations are very different from one another. By focusing on our common destination rather than on our differences, we can walk together in peace and love and mutual respect. Carl Jung wrote: “Knowing your own darkness is the best method for dealing with the darknesses of other people. One does not become enlightened by imagining figures of light, but by making the darkness conscious. The most terrifying thing is to accept oneself completely. Your visions will become clear only when you can look into your own heart. Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes.” This is what Dimash has done with this work; he has made the darkness conscious. We can only raise our individual and collective consciousness by bringing to light what needs to be healed in our lives and our world, and then we need to work together to restore wholeness to what is broken and bring about peace and unity, one step at a time. We don’t have to wait. We can start right now. As the hymn tells us: "Let there peace in the world, and let it begin with me." Baraka Bashad. -
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In addition, I noticed that someone who takes revenge, however justified it may be, can never become the messiah.
Thus, Dimash plays both the grieving, emotionally torn father who avenges the death of his murdered daughter and executes his childhood friend who is responsible for the girl's death, and his grown-up son, the grown-up baby, the messiah. For revenge leads to one's own death, perhaps purifying, but never to one's becoming the new Messiah.
Again briefly as a chronological overview to the main characters in the video:
    1. the little boy from the beach who was saved is later the simple soldier in the time of war (played by Dimash) who is at the same time the father of the murdered girl and the newborn baby,
    2. the little girl from the stand is later the mother of the girl who is murdered and mother of the newborn baby and thus the wife of the common soldier.
    3. the big boy from the beach is the later dictator / general who is shot by Dimash towards the end.
    4. the newborn baby is later the new Messiah grown up and the son of the little boy and the little girl from the beach.
    Greetings from Germany

Wonderful breakdown! I would like to add the translation of what Dimash intones after the Om chant (while falling to the ground at the discovery of his daughter). A Kazakh proverb: "Man is a caravan. Life is a road." Another breakdown (from the voice and songwriting channel Throga Vocal Gym) notes that the chord progression right after the reference to "Imagine" is from Michael Jackson's "Earth Song".

Hi Frank! Thank you for your sincere reaction! Have you noticed that Dimash is the main solder right from the very beginning of the war scene, when he was shot in the arm, many people miss that? When I first watched this MV, it broke me, I became very emotional, it was heart wrenching, to say the least!😢
Dimash has worked very hard for 3 years composing the music for this song, and around 20 days to make this MV. It turned out to be his most valuable MV, in the ideological sense, ever made, a real Masterpiece! I believe that Dimash deserves THE NOBEL PEACE PRIZE for his selfless hard work and tireless efforts, not only for this MV, but for trying to bring the world together in love, peace and harmony, through his music, MVs and many charities he dedicates his time to. He is a Legend and will go down in History.
The mini movie is full of symbolisms, it's the story of 3 youths, and the necklace which was made by the young Dimash and shared with his friends symbolizing lifelong friendship and unity. The Piper grew up and started a war, using the symbol of the necklace as the crest on his army uniform.
This is my breakdown of the story, as I see it:
    1) Dimash, who was drowning at the beginning and at the end.
    2) The Piper, the one who saved Dimash, and who became the leader, and who was killed by Dimash at the end.
    3) The young girl, who died in childbirth, became Dimash’s future wife, had two children together; a daughter who was killed by the Piper's army; and the birth of a son at the end, who inherited the necklace from her mother…, they were all torn by the war.
For the symbolic aspects, Dimash is showing the different cultures and religions (Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Buddhism, Hindi, etc.), through throat singing, which is called the REQUIEM (mass for the souls of the dead), from different religions. The Pilgrim, Shepard or Wise Man at the end of the video was Dimash’s newborn son, born in his image and grows up to guide the Representatives of different religions and race from different Nations to the light, for a new beginning living together in peace, tolerance, love and harmony.
    I’m choosing life!!🙏🙏
See you in your next reaction. Love from Canada 💖

💥35K people from 68 countries💥came together in love, in solidarity, in peace in an Almaty, KZ stadium on 9-23-22 for the 4 hour concert (31 songs, I'm told) given by the young Kazakh musician whose divine voice touches souls & changes hearts. Below please read the brief speech that DQ gave to the audience before singing his newest composition, "The Story of One Sky." Sending this to you & yours, Dear, with Much Love & In Solidarity while Praying for Peace.
"Many thanks dear friends, before I perform the next song, let me say a few words. Thank you very much.
We, the people sitting in this stadium, each of us is different, not totally alike one another, but we are all God's children, each of us with different talents.
And, as I mentioned just now, right now is a bad time. In fact, I am not satisfied with the present situation.
I have not seen how such situations evolved in the past, therefore I don't know what will happen next.
But many people are suffering today because of a few individuals, it's really true.
We, we the adults, consider ourselves to be "smarter" than the small children and innocents, but while we do our best to teach and educate our children,
we forget that we also have some things to learn from those children.
They are pure-hearted, kind, friendly, untainted and without egos and their love for people are pure. Young children have such qualities.
I started writing this song I'm about to perform, three years ago.
Generally speaking, my main purpose in writing this work is to call for peace in the world.
It's a small composition that has burst out from deep within my heart.
To tell you truth, many thanks to god and with your wishes I traveled to many parts of the world and met many different people during my tours.
One thing I understood is that if you look at ordinary people, there is no such thing as a bad nationality, there is no bad nationality!
I don't need to tell you what you already know about the reason for mentioning the topic of nationality here...
Let there be peace in the world, Let there be peace. Let there be no war.
Let no people, let no nationality, let no country suffer!
Because after all, ordinary individuals, ordinary people are not at fault.
The truth of the matter is, no ordinary person is guilty of starting a war!
That's why the next song I'll be performing in your honor is about our common fate under one sky, it's called "The Story of One Sky".
    Hope you like it."

The director of this “short film” was also the director of his MV Okey. It cost him 7 million dollars to produce it. Dimash respects all religious beliefs. One day, he will finish his PhD degree and he will be called Dr. Kudaibergen. The video shows once again that Dimash is an absolute genius. In singing but also as an actor and as a storyteller. The powerful message conveyed by this video is more relevant today than ever. I think this video is mostly about the message. This message however, is for the first time more important than his vocal abilities. His voice is just the tool in this video. But indispensable and simply indescribable. His singing is indescribable and I don’t have the words to express it adequately. But it is only the mediator of what this video is about. This is so heartbreaking and sad and an awesome masterpiece. Pure goosebumps.
He worked on this composition for three years and also wrote the screenplay.
The premiere was on September 24, 2022.
As some have mentioned, this video should be seen by many people. It may be very brutal for some. But let’s not forget that for many, including children, this is everyday life in some countries. And Dimash relentlessly shows us how ugly war is.
Dimash was the littel boy who was drowning in the beginning and he gave the necklace to his childhood friend (and future leader) and the girl. The girl on the beach was his future wife. And she gave birth to her second child in the video. The littel girl who was shot was Dimashs and her first daughter. Desperation and maybe revenge has led him to kill his former friend. But violence always breeds violence, and because of this, not only is the leader dead, but so is Dimash. Dimash in the last sequence of the video was the baby (and not the dead Dimash walking in afterlife) that was born and now as a grown man unites people of different nationalities and religions for peace.
If you want to know more about this video check out dimashnews. com
Btw, Dimash has received an Award from Pope Francis personally at The Congress of the Leaders of World and Traditional Religions held in Kazakhstan on September 13, 2022. He performed the song there in connection with the congress before the premiere.
There now is a wonderful booklet on dimashnews. com
Also see the live fancam from his Almaty concert on September 23, 2022. 35.000 people from 68 different countries. I am so sad, that I couldn’t be there.

Dimash took a calculated risk by showing this video. It may not be his intention but it can be interpreted as political in nature particularly if the timing of the release is factored in. By the way, this is said to be one of the most expensive, if not the most expensive, music video ever made. BRAZIL - Thank you Frank. Dimash wrote the script and composed the music for the MV, working on it for about 3 years. Dimash will always impress, not only for his magnificent vocals, emotionality, but also for his creativity. The message is addressed to the world and I will agree that it is always more difficult in practice, especially when it comes to world leaders, but it is also good to know that there are still people who care about what is happening in the world and can use their artistic expression. , as in the case of DIMASH who used his music, his popularity to demonstrate that we need peace: peace is, without a doubt, a life goal pursued by all peoples and individuals on the planet. The scenes of violence and wars, witnessed in real time, have sharpened the human spirit, rooting, even more, in people's daily lives, the conviction that it is necessary to fight for peace.. the practice of non-violence to resolve conflicts, the practice of dialogue in the relationship between people, the democratic attitude towards life, which presupposes the dynamics of planned cooperation and the constant movement of the installation of justice.

    Hi Frank;)
Thank you for reacting to Dimash!
I choose life and I will follow Dimash anywhere!
Three additions to the wonderful comments on The Story of One Sky:
The gnomon is from Ancient Greek “ to know”. It is pronounced no man.
The reference to John Lennon’s heartbreaking “Imagine”.
The different interpretations of the Piper.

🙏🙏🙏Thanks for your reaction to this masterpiece !! 💕💕💕I’m enclosing a deep and knowledgeable analysis by Heiderose Kober that you might appreciate :
« This is subtitled "Requiem” but it is also a vision and a call to action.
Many of the dead in those bombed-out buildings were women and children.
When Dimash’s character decides to avenge the murder of his daughter, his state of consciousness is reflected in the darkening sky with lightning bolts of anger accompanying the storm of his emotions that buffets the pilgrims and hinder progress.
Its sound ascends On High and awakens the heavenly shofar, and so mercy is aroused and judgment is removed.”
Reborn as a leader for peace and love, Dimash's character in the form of his son becomes a spiritual guide for all of mankind on our shared journey up the mountain towards the light of God, however we may interpret or name the divine.
Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes.”
This is what Dimash has done with this work; he has made the darkness conscious.

If you took careful note in the beginning of the video, it says clearly that Dimash is the COMPOSER. There are so much symbolism/meaning in this video, besides his magnificent angelic vocal, giving us a message to save our civilization, perhaps a last chance, as a community of humanity as well as saving our planet and all the creatures thereof, not just humans if we would put our differences aside become as one…. Under one sky. I believe the message through his lyric and the visuals represented in the video is extremely important to Dimash that we truly understand the significance of the message he’s so desperately trying to convey to all of us as evidenced in his last praise of the lyric - “we are choosing life” where he is SCREAMING and telling us to choose life over violence and death by all of us putting our differences aside and instead honoring and respecting those differences and come together to save our humanity.

This is by far the best explaination I have found. It was written by Heiderose Kober:
This is subtitled "Requiem” but it is also a vision and a call to action. Dimash is steeped in sacred music and has a deep understanding of the mystic teachings and symbolism of the major world religions as well as Kazakh shamanism.
