► SCRIPT
So load your first song onto the first deck which is deck number 1, then load your second song onto the 2nd deck which is deck number 2.
Then press sync on both decks so that the bpms of both songs will be the same. In our case they are the same already, but it’ll be best to press sync just to be safe.
Because if the bpms aren’t exactly the same, then you won’t be able to properly mix between the two.
So the plan is this:
Both of our songs that are loaded have 32 beat intros and outros. So we’re going to play song number 1, and mix in song number 2’s intro at song number 1’s outro here. That’s basically the last part of the song where only beats just play. Keep in mind this differs for every song.
So the trick here is to play song number 2’s intro at the exact moment we reach song number 1’s outro.
So this is the section where we should start mixing in. And where gonna mix this part with song number 2’s intro. Which is basically the first section of an extended edm song. Keep in mind also, that this differs for every song as well.
So the general idea, is to mix our 2nd song at the end of the 1st song.
So here’s how we do it:
Starting with our crossfader at the left section, we play the 1st song, and when we reach the 1st songs outro, we play the 2nd songs intro. So ideally both songs will be playing at the same time, now when this is happening. We then drag the crossfader from the left section to the right section, to essentially mix.
Now our timing of when we play the 2nd song will 100% not be on time. So in order to get these beats aligned, we have to use the + and - buttons here. They work as to speed up or slow down a song, so that the beats can align.
To make sure the beats are aligned. They have to look like this when we play them together.
See how the kick drum of the 1st song aligns with the kick drum of the 2nd song? That’s what we want.
So once we play the 2nd song, and align it properly with the first, and are 100% sure they’re aligned. Then and then do we drag the crossfader from the left section to the right section.

I've used virtual dj for many years using laptop then i switched to serato with SB2 and its great fun to have serato lite bt it has limitation of fx so I can't use much effects with my set.

how can i put the music from my apple play on to serato. i see that i have itunes on the progam but none of my songs show. when i purchased my controller, sec hand it didnt come with software but i download the program.
Unfortunately, I don't think Apple Music (I hope that's what you meant) is supported by Serato. Only Tidal has support with Serato. You'll need to purchase the songs via iTunes to have them port into your Serato library

just got the ddj-rev 1and using serato lite. Some reason the crossfader curve in the mixer setting doesn't move, just stuck at halfway. Anyone else had this problem?

Hi, I am new to DJ and some of the songs that I use from soundclound don’t have any BPM on it. How do I fix this instead having to manually edit the BPM by myself?
You can press the blank BPM and tap the space bar to the beat! Unfortunately, I don't know if there are other ways to automatically get the BPM if your program can't read it.

It should work with Bluetooth if you have the proper hardware from your laptop or controller.

It's worth noting that only the following work with the 200 from what I recall:

djay (iPhone/iPad/Android)
edjing Mix (iPhone/iPad/Android)

They have options to record the mixes, but usually only when plugged into a controller

I'm curious about the headphones. Can you listen to your headphones and still hear the audio in the room? Or does the sound only go into the headphones once you plug it in. What does the splitter cable do? I'm a bit fuzzy on that. Can you help?
In this case, you'll be able to hear the song you're not playing out loud yet on one channel on the splitter, while the other channel has your song playing on the speakers. Think of it as a cueing system, but without the controller :)

You can! Just make sure it's compatible with Serato :)
you were great but in my little experience I found the best dj software to laptop without the controller is virtual dj it is great and has a realy very good look and effects
while VDJ may be better, it is not Free. this is free. for a great many people out there having access to a free solution is GOLD...
Personally I would not mind having a copy of VDJ to see if its automix feature would allow me to step away from the decks for a hot minute or be able to actually eat when i am at a wedding....

I connect my iTunes to Serato DJ Lite but only my folders are showing and no music. Please help.
I Have Itunes & i went to preferences & pressed Advance & Clicked on the box icon to share with XML & other applications but its still not showing any of my songs in virtual Dj or in serato dj lite any ideas why it wont show any of my itunes songs on those dj softwares?

Unfortunately, you'll need another program, like Audacity, to record from Serato Intro. Try upgrading to Serato DJ Pro!

Are there any shortcuts to select FXs and Bpm of them? I've a DDJ SB2 and I find difficult changing fxs's bpm with che touchpad
i switched to Rekordbox a while back. was playing a wedding and my controller DDJ-RX had an issue on channel 3 that i thought was a problem in my amps and speakers.
i ended up spending a bunch of $$$ on the spot because I suspected my amps and such. ugh.
found out it was the controller and ended up playing the gig using Rekordbox with the keyboard of my laptop.
i think Serato DJ Lite would have been a better solution at the time -- that overlay and mapping looks way better than what Rekordbox had going on...

Does any of this content still apply in late 2021? My Serato DJ light ask me to link to my SoundCloud but then when I do it still doesn't let me import music from SoundCloud. Very frustrating
It should still be good bud! Just make sure you've also got a trial or membership for SoundCloud Go+!

Does serato DJ lite has 32 bit for windows 7 ?
Unfortunately, the current releases no longer support 32-bit. The last update to have that is Lite 1.0.2. Check out Serato Lite's download page's archives, and try to give it a run!

Is there a way to activate an option if there really is like the one in virtual dj which marks every beat with a ruler. While comparing two tracks when both rulers match on the beat grid it is beatmatched. But serato only has the beat grid not the scales/ruler for better understanding of beats. It's so tough Going to serato from vdj

when you hit play on the the track you are mixing in, why doesn't it just automatically align the beats - like rekordbox? ('Sync' is selected so I assumed it would just do that...or is this a Serato pro function?)

Nice and very Pro looking Video. But did you know that VirtualDj Home Free has almost all Pro features avaliable on Free version as long as you dont use any dj controller ? Keyboard is fully mapped by default.
