Just like Steve said I started watching this show too listen to skaters from back in the day when I was growing up in the late 80s early 90s. The Chris Roberts is off the hook! Love the intro, WELLLLLLLLLL...... crushing it dude as well as everyone else. Now I get to learn about new skaters, I picked up my board about 5 months ago after a 25 year hibernation. I didn't stick with it when I was younger I grew up with the Menace dudes in LA Joey and Fabian and they killed it. It's nice to be back in the scene and having such a killer podcast! I'd like to see Ray Barbee!! That was my first complete deck picked it up on Melrose will never forget that time!

Someone jacked my Black Label Vallely board out of the art room closet when I was in high school..the teacher's aide just happened to know the owner of Liberty boardshop at the time.. She was able to get me a brand new Blind complete - OG blind logo, signed by James Craig..so sick..I'll never forget that. Another great episode. Thanks guys.
This is so sick,my Mondays at work are so much better with this. I do gardening/landscaping work,and right when I start my day it's immediately throw on my head phones and start playing the Nine Club podcast. Time goes by so much faster and it's enjoyable.
Hey you guys could i please ask a quick question? When you guys were all at Adio together with Jeremy Wray, was it a "big thing" at Adio when Justin Timberlake rocked the white Wray 4's in the music video for the song "Signs" with Snoop Dogg? As in did it help with sales of the shoe? Mr Wray deserved some nice chqs. I had a pair when they came out, nice crisp white ones too. I think the music video came out literally a day or 2 after I got them and I remember seeing Justin Timberlake dancing around in them and I got paranoid that people at school would think I'm not wearing them because Jeremy Wray was rad but because maybe I was just biting Justin Timberlake. Oh i forgot to add they were the best shoes too! It was like skating with your feet on clouds! Julio De La Cruz (or however you spell it) was DEFINITELY on New Deal. If he wasn't in 1281, then he was definitely in Da Deal Is Dead and whatever the next video after that was. Armando Barajas is a slept on legend. His part in 1281 alone is one of the most legendary video parts in skateboarding history.
I have listened/watched over half the interviews on this channel and without a doubt this interview is absolutely GREAT!!!!! I give this one 5 stars. Not too many reference The New Deal skateboards. The New Deal was the original World Industries breathing a breath of fresh air into the industry without the provocative profanity. On a side note,...Roger Bag,...your knowledge and short questions/comments blow my mind. Again,..thank you all @ the 9!!!!!!! THIS SHOW IS TOP PRIORITY and a true gem!

Used to see James at the Vans Skatepark at the Block all the time in the late 90's, early 00's. Used to watch his Wheels of Fortune all the time, introduced me to Jurassic 5. Man, when he mentioned Hot Skates...that's where I bought my first ever board, at the Orange Circle in late 96.

James did a tre flip on the bank at the Vans park in 411vm issue 32 wearing DVS Deawon shoes between the intro song and right before Lance Mountain speaks about the issue. He then does a different tre flip on the same bank at the same Vans park in 411vm issue 34 at the end of the chaos section wearing DVS Sheffey’s.
