I really want this game and the expansions just seem to really compliment it very well. Btw Michael was really fun. Hope to see some more games with him in the future. I love your 2 player playthroughs but it is fun to have one or two extra people around from time to time
I can see how Michael wins a lot of yall games together. The way he thinks when playing is S tier./ Side note the segment at 54:53 till the end of Naveen's turn was like watching Monique and Michael motivate and congratulate a toddler completing task a preschool lol. No offense Naveen you did well bringing down the hazard total to 1 prestige loss.
This is a gorgeous game, and I love the engine building aspect, but I don't think I would enjoy negotiating with my friends - I feel like it can often unintentionally leads to some resentment, more so than other mechanics, even hidden roles, which are often placed upon you against your will. Thanks for the playthrough and for sharing a good time!
OMG, I laughed. I cried. I was on the edge of my seat…. What a game! It was awesome to see Michael joining you. You should do that more often. :) Absolutely amazing game. I am very happy that I have the chance to back the Kickstarter now, because I missed the original one and the more I see this game, the more I love it. Just need to go through the sea of add-ons (they went “Rehab” crazy with them for this campaign). Big, BIG love. ❤️
Cool beans & Awesome sauce. This game is looking good. And you have a special guest with a very swanky dice shirt. I can’t tell but I think Monique might be wearing a cool “gaming related” shirt, but I can’t tell because of that long flowing hair. I wonder if it is weird playing a 3-player game where you are all on one side of the table. It seems a bit unnatural because I am used to seeing people circling a table with a 3+ player game. 😁
@@BeforeYouPlay Great news. So I did have a question about a concern of mine with this game. How many copies of the Thruster Plus and Reactor Plus are in the supply? It seems the most reliable strategy is going to be to get a handful of each of those in your deck as there is just nothing else quite and engine building that is not variable. My concern is that if too many players want them there may not be enough copies.
I don't feel this was ever really a problem. If you are ahead at like 8 points, no one is going to want to team up with you. It's just the way the game arc is. You just need to make sure that by that point you have a deck strong enough to solo some contracts and/or some objective cards. Despite this, I think the Binding Ties expansion helps with the faction point abilities, and Overload allows for stronger decks than just the base game.
At 33:40, doesn’t Naween have another action which he doesn’t use? One for his crew, which he uses and one for his Thruster+ which he doesn’t use? Might be because he has no more useful cards and then not playing is the same as playing a card since all will be discarded anyway.
This was an awesome playthrough! Still a bit on the fence about backing it. Game looks amazing but I got similar feelings from Munchkin in those 1 hour games where someone simply plays a card and win, I guess kingmaking games just aren't for me.
Love seeing the three player game played with three actual players! Thanks Michael for joining. In Naveens 1st contract, you and Michael rolled 2 hazards on each of your dice but never shielded against them, but it didn't "fail" the mission. Can you explain why?
Hazards don’t affect the pass or fail of a mission they just reduce your prestige by the amount you don’t shield. So there is no reason for hazards to be blocked when you have zero prestige and wouldn’t earn any from the rewards of a mission.
Phew, the Titan Box is super pricey for what it is (especially for plastic ships). And you won’t get the nice expansion boxes in case you don’t have room to store the big box.
@@Wylie288 The expansion boxes are the same height as a standard game box, so I can easily fit them in smaller places as opposed to a box that’s bigger than any shelf I have.
So is this game just luck of the draw of getting yellow and blue cards in the right order to just keep going?? Is there no downside to to paint cats and discarding them? I feel like I'm missing something
Moonrakers should always be at 3+ imo, you also cannot say the number of certain cards you have - it defeats the chase of a quest if you're just partnering knowing you can complete it using just 3 people over taking 4 or 5 to ensure you cover the requirements. Instead you use vague phrasing like "I can help with shield a lot", "I can cover all the damage", "I can do a little bit of the required energy and thrusters, but could draw into more".
Is that an actual rule, that you can't say exact numbers? Stuff like you said as vague phrasing can often just lead to a group knowing what is meant with "a lot" , Some, etc. If that's actually a rule is always hard to enforce.
@@monkeyunit4533 yes, it's an actual rule. And it's not that hard to enforce, you cannot say how many of certain cards you have, it's that easy! You just don't do it and follow the rules of the game. It's not that easy to figure out using vague phrasing if you've brought enough allies to beat it or have the correct cards - you need 8 shields, 5 damage and 6 thrusters. If I tell you I can do a small amount of damage and a lot of thrusters, that gives you an idea on chances but it's still a game of risk and chance. If Billy saying he has 2 energy and 4 thrusters, and Tim says he has 3 shields, 1 energy and a thrusters and you know you have a 1 double damage, 2 single damage, a thruster and energy PLUS you can see everyone's ship part bonuses - you would know exactly what missions you can accomplish and exactly who you need to take to do so. Do you risk taking a small team and maybe not finishing the mission and getting the rewards - possibly losing prestige points as well. Or do I take Sarah as well for her damage to ensure we beat the mission but I may pay her part of the reward for help I don't need. That's what the game is about. If you just get to know everyone's hand, why even play the game? Why even hide your cards? Just so people block you from the ones you can solo? If people don't want to follow game rules, they don't get to play. It's not hard to enforce game rules. But if YOU and your friends want to disregard the rule and just tell everyone what's in your hand, go ahead and play that way but it sure won't be fun and I wouldn't play with you guys.
@@anthony2507 It's actually not a rule. Rulebook says you can play it however you like. Either as vague terms or specific numbers. The designers themselves even play giving specific numbers.
Guys, as part of the rules, i guess is not allowed to mentioned the exact numbers of cards you can contribute is it? thanks so much for this video, love it.
Welcome to the Channel Michael! Great job! Looks like a fun game. :) More 3P games please! The 3 of you have a nice dynamic(trinamic? haha jk) together.. Friendly until it matters! LOL

I wasn't sold on this game until watching this playthrough! You guys are bad for my wallet.. lol love the channel!
LOL so sorry! Glad you enjoyed the gameplay :-)
Same here! I just pledged on Kickstarter!
Me too! Never had an interest in the game but found the gameplay riveting. Also like the color palette of the game.

Thanks so much for your kind words! Yes, we were so happy to finally have a 3rd player. Michael will definitely be back =)
Finaly a playthrough of this game that makes the game play clear!!! I need this 🤣
Also love the 3 player playthrough!!
Thank you!
I was ready to overlook this game but watching your playthrough has pushed it right up onto my wishlist! Some shrewd negotiations there!
hah definitely a game all about negotiations!
This was thoroughly entertaining. Bring on the 3 player playthroughs!
Thank you!
Something new!! A 3-player space based game- good job.

Yeah, it is probably group-dependent. Thanks for watching!
Yeah, I had a similar feeling. The risk of kingmaking, intentional or not, is just too big.
@@monkeyunit4533 Kingmaking is definitely an important part of the game. It's a feature not a bug.
Monique: "This is Michael."
Me: "Michael looks like he's ready to win this." Watch out, Monique & Naveen! Don't let the smile fool you. 😅

Yeah Monique's sweater says "Eurogames." It does feel a bit unnatural to play on one side but it was our only option for filming. Thanks for watching!
Any reason why Michael wanted to draw 2 after discarding the miss in the first mission when he helped Monique?
Is it not boring to always have to start with a reactor? Action economy seems to hinge on the reactor
At 20 minutes, were the head-to-head rules changed when it comes to ties? I thought ties were broken in player order starting with the mission leader.
I can't believe you got early copies!!
When you get Michael on again, it would be cool to see double high fives at the end of the game.
ah missed opportunity!
Negotiation games just make me want to cry 🤣 But, you made this look so interesting!
haha negotiation games cause so much drama at the table! Thanks for watching, Emma!

Just wondering , do you need the base game for the titan box? Or just getting the titan box is enough?
Do you guys reckon they've fixed that "munchkins" -like pile on effect in the last rounds?
