This was the last generation of really great GM trucks IMO. My current daily is an '03 Yukon XL Denali and I absolutely love it. It was definitely abused pretty bad by a previous owner who was somehow fat enough to crush the metal seat base and damage the BCM, but with only 110,000 miles and only one unexpected issue its been serving me well. I bought a Denali because I wanted the power of the 6.0, but it ended up being the road manners of the AWD that made me fall in love with it. No truck that is that heavy should handle as well as it does. For anyone who's curious, the problem was that I'd randomly loose some of the forward gears in the trans so it would barely be able to move from a stop. However if I just shut the truck off and turned it back on the issue went away. It did this several times without giving me a check engine light. Eventually it gave me a few codes with lead me to a service bulletin about some kind of bad electrical connection under the hood. It only cost about 100 bucks to have it fixed, way cheaper than a trans swap! Since then it's needed nothing at all.
Did plugs and wires on my 03 last month, Some things that helped with #8, unbolt the front bolt on the dipstick bracket and rotate the bracket forward a few inches. Lay on top of the engine from the front. With the bracket pushed forward you should be able to get your left hand to it easily. If you are changing wires as well as plugs and you are wrestling the boot, cut the boot wire, slip a pipe clamp over the boot clamp with the screw of the clamp facing up,tighten the clamp up, now you can grab the screw part with pliers and easily lever the boot and heat shield assembly out. Using a ratchet with a 3/8 to 1/2 adapter and another 1/2 to 3/8 adapter seems to be the perfect amount of length to clear the manifold cleanly when removing most of the plugs. A short piece of half inch hose slipped over the end of the new plugs helps tremendously with installing new plugs gently without cross-threading. When you get around to fixing the notorious loose steering, try removing the gas pedal first. When you get paranoid and decide to change fluids because who knows what the last owner was doing with that, you will get to transmission, if you have a deep pan pick a filter that has feet on the bottom rather than a ridge on top.
All of these repairs I just part of the NeverEnding Saga of replacing Parts on a neglected vehicle I'm going through that myself with my 93 GMC Sierra 3500 Dually. Man I like that step you put on the tire. Pretty awesome where can I get one of those
Strongly suggest that you use gm sensors when the po327 and or po332 check engine light comes back on next month.Aftermarket knock sensors do not hold up. Ask me how i know.
Heck yea! Nice addition to the fleet! Man I can’t believe you got that for the price you did. That looks relatively clean as far as rust goes. Solid win!
I’ve seen some of your jeep death wobble videos and mine doesn’t have any of those issues when I hit 45mph it starts to wobble ive completely rebuilt the whole front end took it to shop and no one can tell me what it is do you have any ideas?
At that price, you really can't go wrong. You and your brother could part of out and make a pretty penny if need be. But seems like you've got yourself a good'n
Woohoo!! USA! USA! That's a pretty sweet looking Yukon for not a lotta D'oh! LoL 🤣. I'm trying to cut a deal on a 2000 Yukon XL 2500, as long as it's got the 4.10 gearing, so I can pull my home (2018 Keystone Passport Elite 34MB Ultralight travel trailer) if needed. I may have to get the hell outta Washington soon! Here's hoping "Murphy's" law isn't suffocating ya'll too much over there in the Garden State!
11 check engine lights? Those are rookie numbers you got to bump them up lol. But seriously an 01 is a solid year, my 02 Silverado is creeping up on 250,000 miles and still runs like a scolded dog.
You're never gonna be able to have your windows open without breathing that exhaust in. I get why ya did it but that's gonna make the interior stink like hell as it collects under there... Power wash the bottom of that and hit it with some TSSST! Makes me saaaaaaad seeing all that rust!
@@DEInTheGarage haha, right?! He and I have a lot in Common, too. Both from ND and spent most of our lives in Minnesota. I'm from "Up North" but moved out of state for a girl 14 years ago. Just too dang bad I'm not a TH-cam star so I'll never get the time of day from the guy with all the new fans he's got, but I sure appreciate his content.
I could not care less, but .......seat belt? It is everybody’s prerogative if they want to lick the inside of their windshield. But, I was in a head-on many years ago with no seat belt and my head/face made a great bulge from the inside outward on the windshield. I was just lucky.
Yukon, Tahoe, or Suburban, pretty good vehicles I think. I've never owned one but they seem very popular for larger families.
Well buddy buck you, it's finally up!!! Go Eric! Go GMC!!!

Congrats on the new project Eric. Those are really nice trucks when taken care of.

same exhaust setup i have on my 02 silverado 1500 with the 5.3. except i have a flowmaster but it sounds meaty
Nice, it'll take care of you if you take care of it.

Check tire balance and tires for a bad rib

Seriously, right? Can part it out for twice that, but it is a solid unit. definitely sticjking around
I think I did cylinder 8 spark plug from the bottom but it's been awhile
You didn't buy it, you stole it. Glad it worked out for you.
LOL...

Looks like Big E bought a Pimp Wagon.....lol....
Amen to that
Jeepers, I don't like the teenager looking situation with this bad Larry
This has "first car" wri8tten all over it.... in gold vinyl!
I replace my knock sensors and I still have the codes for it
It's not bad if you can save it from rotten away like Chevy Metal does 🤣
Guessing there's some gigantic subwoofers in the back?

Is it weird that one man made it so that half the internet knows what "TSSSST" means with zero extra context?? Legend

Or maybe pit! Lol
You want a parts truck? I've got a 01 yukon xl for ya.
I would've fixed that rust hole.

Save yourself 20 minutes and pass on this video. It’s full of hot air with zero substance. Just like the caricature in it.
