I showed this movie to my brother for the first time few months ago, he was aware of the Disaster Artist "i did not hit her" trailer. a quarter of the way through i told him "its weird if you listen to other actors dialogue in Tommys voice since he wrote it" my brother was like "He wrote this too?" "ya, Directed, wrote, produced, and starred in it" ".....but...he couldnt remember those lines...the...lines he wrote!" its been years since ive seen my brother literally cry from laughter for about 3 minutes right after that.

It is clear that Tommy Wiseau had his heart broken by some woman he was once in love with....that being the entire source of his passion to do this movie. His utter sincerity, combined with his almost complete lack of "normal" acting or script writing ability, is what makes the movie both dreadful....and yet somehow, touching. It makes it lovable, in a strange way...something that is not the case with any number of other "so bad they're good" movies. There is a core of genuine idealism and real heart in Tommy Wiseau that raises his movie to a special place that will probably never be matched by any other "so bad it's good" movie. He actually meant it. Every bit of it. He cared! That is evident all the way through. As for Greg Sistero, kudos to Greg! He remained Tommy's faithful and supportive friend throughout the entire project and beyond it ("You're my best friend") even though he knew full well that the movie was an absolute artistic disaster. That is a real friend. Yessir. Most people would just have bailed out. And kudos to Juliette Daniels as well.....for absolutely refusing to do a 2nd "love scene" with Tommy....so they had to re-use some footage from the first one. That poor woman.

Now, having watched along with them for the second time it just keeps getting better/worse. LOVE IT! Next step- find a screening of this to go to.
Just came out of a screening, one of the best theater experiences I've had, spoons everywhere! never thought I'd have the room up with the Avengers and Star Wars in top movie theater experiences. I came home and had to check out this commentary so I pretty much just watched the room twice in a row.
I was just watching the commentary and not the movie but I'm 7 minutes in and after seeing their reactions I have to find this movie to watch it along with them. My morbid curiosity is getting the better of me.
I watched the movie for the first time with u guys, it was a lot of fun, i´m sure i couldnt have done it by myself, now i´m ready to have the full disaster artist experience
I really ENJOYED your talk-along with my favorite So-Bad-It's-Good Movie. $6 million dollars got sucked away because Wiseau filmed with two different cameras out of technological ignorance. That turbo-charged flower-shop scene was an absolute SCREAM.
