What's in My Sewing Box? The Hand Sewing Tools I Take Everywhere!

  • One of my local friends requested a video on what I keep in my sewing box that I use for hand work and take to events. Over the years I've noticed everyone that has one personalizes it. @bernadettebanner inspired the format of the video a bit, and I thought it would be a great practice piece for me to learn more about my new editing software.
Enjoy, stay safe, and I hope we can see each other soon.

You are very welcome! It was a lot of fun and encouraged me to clean it up a bit. Probably about time to tidy it up again

@@MaridithSmith I totally understand that. I finally created a small hand sewing box so I can keep all my goodies nice and tidy 🧹

A great video, and lovely to see what you carry. I would like to hear more on how you plan to replace your tape measure. I fell in love with a small woven basket that has an inner metal frame. It's about 3x3x9. It holds 90% of what I need when I'm sewing at events. I've discovered that it goes with me almost everywhere.

I love seeing other peoples kits. You would benefit from a needle case.

Thank you for watching! While needle cases were used I personally don't use them for my sewing needles because I like having my choices laid out in front of me for different projects.
My needle case has been pretty stellar for dressing pins at events though

Love the video. How did you come up with or find your device?

Honestly, I was working with a local herald because my original plans were too complicated and kept being rejected so we went the super simplified route.

Where can I find these needle pullers? I have arthritis but love beading and sewing

These could be a great solve for that! Here in the states I've found them at JoAnns Fabrics and in a few quilt shops. The manufacturer is dritz I think. Hopefully that helps!
