Switching to Visualize from Keyshot. I use Creo and NX, in addition to SolidWorks. With Keyshot, to assign different materials to an imported STEP file, you simply change the color assignment in Creo or NX before exporting. Do you have to have separate parts in your exported STEP for Visualize to assign different materials?
Very delicately did not definitively say the animations feature is not part of standard visualize.

I think yes. Because visualize applies material property to the whole part.
