It's funny to imagine that for some kpop fans, these songs mightve been their introduction into the genre
I mean, this or gangnam style, doesn’t matter that much lol
Zimzalabim, Next Level and The Boys by SNSD were my introduction. Next Level at first didn't click with me
mine was wolf lol
me w/ orange caramel 😭😭😭
mamamoo one of the groups i initially liked because of aya
My non-kpop friend loves 'Wife' by (G)I-DLE so much. She said that it was so funny and interesting.
This is making me realize that a lot of what I love about kpop is its "too much"-ness. Like I love O.O and RBB, and ITZY are my ults
To be honest my dad doesn't like kpop in general but jams to JYP's songs!!!! I guess its because of Jyp's retro vibe or something but i think the older people from 80's would enjoy few of jyp's songs ✨️🎤🤌
I laughed so hard because of the JYP explanation... 😂
it just had to be said 😗
i feel like we should keep the entirety of (G)I-DLE away from locals lmao
They’re all too slay, locals wouldn’t understand how iconic they are
@ i agree to this sm
I feel different- songs like Latata, Hann, Lion, Moon, Change and others are perfect for non kpoppies
@@jupiters_YT9999 i mean after tomboy, they should be hidden lol
g-idle was my introduction to kpop, something abt them is addictive
5:29 we are actually summoning the beast
My dad loved happy death day on first listen and now he loves Xdinary heroes
I LOVE YOUR STAN LIST!WOODZ,DPR IAN AND VIVIZ????GIRL GOT TASTE!
SGDJAJSGA LMAO THANKS
For me those, Nmixx (not the fucking Frére Jacques one LMAO), babymonster and aespa songs you mentioned are bangers especially live. I don't like the same K-pop formula, structure, predictability and safe bullshit over and over again. I appreciate the risk they take. They are probably the only reason that I even pay any attention to K-pop, doesn't help me that idols nowadays can't even sing their own songs.
Oh yea that’s definitely true tho
But not the young dumb stupid slander. I can’t be the only one who unironically enjoys the song
@@jhtcxkpop No, I like the song a lot since I'm a smelly Nswer, but I won't dare show it to a non-K-pop fan. It would be funny tho.
@@Legacy_2109 aaah like that. I read that differently lol
I love it, but i showed my mom ‘Young Dumb Stupid’ - ‘After Like’ & ‘Hold on tight’ and she says they were copycats 😭 lmao in a joking way ofc
I LOVE YOUNG, DUMB, STUPID 😭😭😭
The fact that Sheesh from babymonster was insane succesfull globaly on streaming plattforms, alot non kpop fans really love it and it was played in the regular radio in Germany and other european countries...its a song i would show non kpop fans, they mostly thing kpop is cute and highpitched with alot of autotune and barely rap....but then comes babymonster with the strongest rap line, insane vocals, swag, bad as and dark concept
Fr!!! I think sheesh is a great song to show to locals!
i remember seeing an instagram reel about instead! by xdinary heroes, and the creator saying "metal heads would love this" or something, only to be roasted by metalheads claiming that its too "poppy"
@@BUTTERFLYACE mhm most metalheads are honestly very nice people tho, seems like they just wanted to complain. But who knows lol
My girlfriend who likes metal liked instead when I showed her 😭 I felt so proud of myself
5:43 DICE INTRODUCED ME TO K-POP AND I HATED K-POP
NAAAH DICE IS SO GOOD WHAT
OMG SAME I WAS NOT THAT MUCH INTO KPOP BUT THAT SONG MADE ME STAN NMIXX AND I SLOWLY GOT MORE INTO KPOP
SAME I WAS STUPID AND HATED KPOP BUT I FOUND NMIXX AND IT'S THE BEST THING THAT HAPPENED TO ME IN MY WHOLE LIFE
OMGGG SAMEE
"that side" TM I'M DYING LMAO
It’s true tho 😭
Almost every songs you put in the list are pure examples of what original kpop is (no western style contamination)...
So if you want introduce kpop to other you HAVE to start with those songs...LOVE IT OR HATE IT...
The song that changed my perspective about music was Orange Caramel 'Magic girl'...
Fun fact, Orange Caramel was actually my introduction to kpop back in 2018…
I appreciate this concept for a video because I will listen to playlists with kpop songs mixed in while driving with non-kpop friends, and find myself skipping some songs because I feel like they're "too kpop" for the others to get. (A recent example was "Bad Behavior" by Purple Kiss)
interestingly, i feel like i've had the most success showing my non kpop friends songs like catallena that are super campy and over the top. not sure why, but maybe because it's unique and doesn't take itself too seriously?
i actually love happy death day - i feel like it could work for people into emo music
I showed "Banana Allergy Monkey" to a friend who listens to Kendrick, Tyler and Kanye and he liked it 🤡
The savage one is soo understandable. I did not like it one but at first and this may sound bad but I blame it all on the highnotes. My ears low-key hurt after that 🤷🏻♀️
Yesss the last chorus' highnotes are so chaotic😭😭I still don't like savage and I don't understand why it's so hyped up
TXT - Cat and Dog. My non kpop friends were extremely confused if it was a real song or not.
I think locals would like Aya tho, idk
i havent heard the full song but fever sounds like something my dad (60) would listen to honestly
my brother (13) also liked guerrilla
chococo immediately came to my mind LOL
first time i heard WIFE was at a G IDLE concert and i loved it but i guess i'm not exactly new to KPOP lol. i only knew a few G IDLE songs but went to their show anyway based on the little i knew and was blown away by just about everything they sang
Rbb was my first red velvet song loved it
your comment on jyp is so real tho lol
fun fact about me: catallena was actually the first kpop song i ever heard (except gangnam style) because it randomly showed up in my youtube recommended years ago. it didn't get me into kpop because i didn't really even realize it was kpop, but i was very intrigued by it. still love that song. weird music is my fav
Nah NMIXX is gonna get blasted whenever I walk into a room. 🤩
i HATED wife when i first got into kpop earlier in the year and now I lowkey get it
omg your editing style is so cute 😻
this just added like 50 songs to my dni list
Nahhh i kinda disagree with JYP. I dont even like him but his retro 80 or 90s genre(?) I really not sure what. But I feel like some people who appreciate that genre would enjoy his songs haha
4:59 you gotta ease them into kpop, don’t hit them with shi like this already 😭
Everyone I showed banana allergy monkey to liked it because it’s a comedy/tragedy lolol
Introduced kpop to my cousin using wife, shes now a multistan and her ult bias is soyeon.
PSY was an introduction to Kpop to a very large portion of the world… I don’t see why JYP couldn’t be one either 😂
Your channel soo underated ❤❤
i am the best by 2ne1 is a great introduction to kpop, but a terrible introduction to the korean LANGUAGE.
Why😭
@10v3dive "naega" sounds like the n word to people who dont know anything about the korean language. ive heard a lot ot rude jokes about it.
@funkytowncatmp4 oh oh oh right, because they repeat the "naega jeil jal naga" ah yes thank you
Kpop fans who got introduced to kpop by these songs: 🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡
bascially anything nct
Nooo not chococo it's literally the best song ever 😔😔
i only ~barely~ get alligator now
but the HELLO I’M AN ALLI- ALLIGATOR-
and the jooheon and changkyun together rapverse-
@@jhtcxkpop hello i'm an alli alligator has lived in my head for far too long tbh lol. truly iconic
What do you mean by the song was ahead of the kpoppies when it was released?
Wolf actively chased me away from kpop lmao 😭 I heard it about a year before getting into kpop and was literally like idk wtf this is but I wanna have nothing to do with it HAHAHAHA
now I can ofc laugh about it but back then I was like nahh what kind of furry cult type shit is this-
Isn't Next Level literally Aespa covering a song from a Fast and Furious movie, as in not really kpop at all?
Original version: th-cam.com/video/o3bSpZeH434/w-d-xo.html
Yes but they added parts
rbb is a song i would have no problem showing tho :D
Nah JYP is peak kpop too 😂
Your problem is spending time with the world's most boring locals.
omg hiiii
i guess op has a thing with nmixx lol
It's just that kpop fans don't get their songs, let alone non kpop fans!!
Just say all nmixx songs, because even kpop fans don't like them let alone locals😭😭😭
my list

magnetic - illit

👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻
i feel like a lot of locals would love magnetic 😭
Touch????
Magnetic: aggressively listenable, absolutely no issue with the locals. It was all over local tik tok
Antifragile: everyone loves a girl power anthem
Moonlight Sunrise: This did the rounds in the US, very accessible.
Permission To Dance: Locals understand The Village People.
ASAP: Aggressively listenable and unobjectionable
Plot Twist: Locals can understand Disney channel cute boys, this is not a difficult concept
Unforgiven: It's a collab with one of the most important western producers in history
What's wrong with sheesh😭
I personally won't ever show any skz song except for chk chk boom and I like it and lalala and lose my breath (skz ver)
