What an amazing and well detailed video! Great job at explaining everything. The ferrite version just sounds SO much better. The differences are extremely obvious that you can already hear them from a cellphone speaker. Also that little cameo of my old video, aww... Good memories
Awesome history and explaining! They were perfect (back then) for radios, as they amplify the voice range really well. They have a pretty decent excursion too. Nice video
Great video! I have some of these vintage Philips whizzer cone drivers. I think i have the one with the alnico magnet in this video, irl it sounds quite good, it came from an external speaker of a Neckermann radio, it has decent bass and nice highs(ofcourse with the high and bass turned to max on the amplifier.) I even have the 8" version of the drivers in this video, with ferrite magnet and mines sound really nice!
Hi! the Philips AD7080 (also rebranded as AD7090) is a pretty decent fullrange speaker, but I don't think it's a very efficent speaker (89/90 dB/1 Watt) and the bass frequency doesn't go below the 100 khz. Do you agree? Ciao!👍
@@LSandM-SpeakersFromEverywhere It is, but then again I need to do some video with & without my personal EQ to confirm that, so I hope I can do those within the next couple weeks.
Hello, I have a question whether you have such a model in your collection of speakers: "SONY KD79X9000B BASS SPEAKER 1-858-975-11 576342" I wonder how it plays. If so, could you share some video on youtube?

So glad you liked it! Yeah the difference is really shocking!
The alnico's magnet is likely expired.
REALLY nice video!! The ad7080 sounds better for sure.
Thanks a lot! Oh yes, WAY WAY better

I heard that some of the AlNiCo ones are better, I wonfer why...mine sounds exactly the same in the video and irl, quite an horrible driver!
this vid deserves a lot more :( it's so cool
Yeah ikr...such a shame...the YT algorithm always promotes tv speakers video bcs they're more "actual" with LED in thr title
To me the the AD3706 sounds smoother and more laid back, like that one best.
Nothing better then the good old Philips, especially the Dutch ones 😉
True
Ah les bons vieux haut-parleur Philips hexagonal on les adore👌👌
Oh que oui

Well tbh not really, they are really efficient drivers, not loud but efficient...also their resonance frequency is 105hz, not their lowest response.
What is the song in the background
Father - Diamond Eyes
Wow, I think those make my tiny AD3501 sound like audio nirvana 😂
Speaking of which, I really need to make more videos on it!
The AD3501 is WAY better actually
