That was a surprise release considering Da Werk been putting out WW-II armor. It's a beautiful looking kit and I have a crew in the stash for it so I may wind up pre-ordering the model.
The das werk leopard 2A7V 1/16 is a beautiful model.I can't wait to see the final production model. Probably a lot of surprises to look forward to. Thanks Andy for the preview 👍 of this good looking model. 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺😅😅
OK...now THIS, I want for my next kit. What a beauty!!!!! Das Werk make "exceptional" and near perfect kits. I just love that company. Thank Andy for this great preview. EDIT: Andy, the pre-order for this kit is not on the Canadian website.
I was just about to pull the trigger on another 1/16 kit last night then saw this on FB. looks great, thanks for taking the time to build it up. It's a mountain of plastic for sure 😊
I can't wait to get this big cat! And I second the recommendation to have a set of Canadian decals. Sure, Canada hasn't bought these (yet) but a little black maple leaf goes a long way!
Now we just need a conversion kit for the Danish Leo 2A7DK and I am IN... Nice that you went ahead an put it together. Super. And perhaps you could use the metal barrel from Tamiyas 1/16th RC model. Only the bore evacuator is a two part item. And with nice kevlar moulding... You could also buy it seperately, if they still make it. Regards from Denmark. Alex..
WOW! That's one heck of a model Andy! I'd love to see the completed 'test' model side-by-side with your 1/16th scale Tiger I model! lol I think I'm going to have to build an addition to house all these big 1/16th scale kits! lol p.s. I will, yet again, lament the fact that neither the original manufacturers or aftermarket companies are making kits of the interior of many 1/16th models, and clear turrets & hulls. I would LOVE to build this 1/16th scale model with an interior AND clear hull & turret (except for the bottom of the hull & turret). The same applies to all other 1/16th scale models.
Hi Andy! Thank you as always for sharing this beauty with us❣️ But what I’m really curious about… That is YOUR new release🥳 Don’t keep us waiting too long🙃 With kind regards From Holland❣️
That multi-tube rack next to the main gun is an ATWES Ant-Tank Weapon Signature Firing Device, its a multi-tube, electrically-fired device that initiates a small explosive device to simulate the main gun firing during war games. The tank-mounted component of the MILES Military Laser Engagement System.
Since you have some kind of relationship with TAKOM, please convey that they are missing the boat on their 1/72 Yamato turrets. They can get more mileage out of the turret tooling if they release turret specific interlocking bases (Especially turrets 1 and 2). Then also do the secondary guns in 1/72 as well with bases that interlock with the main turrets. Next thing you know, you've got the start of the whole superstructure in 1/72. In the end, a truly impressive display.
got it already.... but it's in 1/35............. but you can can get the 1/16 2a8 conversion already.......... you'll find it if you ebay the Henglong leopard 2a6 and have a good search for it.
Any plans on THE OTHER great tank dynasty, starting with T34? That's it, am putting off all purchases of 1/35 tanks, Andy is going to put out a 1/16 version eventually
Another opportunity to ravage my wallet. But its ok. Life is a lije a box of chocolate. This is an amazing looking kit. Kit of the yrar...? It's got my vote. Also, I can see this as a diorama piece "The dipolomacy has fallen to the wayside in battles concerning the Ukraine - in 2027..... in the Kursk salient against the Russians....preparing to send rounds down range..." Oh, the possibilities. From the bottom of my fearless little heart... ThanksAndy!
Very nice kit but a plastic barrel in two pieces it is truly unacceptable! DW should include a metal or a 3D printed barrel, otherwise it will just be a nice toy in 1/16 scale.
The Firefly would be awesome! There are so many Sherman variants that are begging to be offered in 1/16th scale. Right now, "Andy's HQ" & "I Love Kit" seem to be the only manufacturers who are offering 1/16 scale Shermans.
@@MichalKaczorowski The nice thing is that there are a number of versions for each type of hull & suspension that are pretty common. In fact, if planned carefully, it may only require 3 or 4 types of "2-in-1" or "3-in-1" kits to cover most options. The other option is to coordinate with companies to produce plastic/photo-etch 'aftermarket' kits to convert 3 or 4 base versions into a number of other types, e.g. alternate turrets, armaments, suspensions, additional armour, etc. The same approach could be taken with early Pz. Kpfw. IIIs & IVs, and post-1942 IIIs and IVs, etc.
1/16 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!............... oh WOW and about time too.........but i don't need that track because Heng Long already does it in plastic or metal..... or i can use my existing Tamiya track instead but this looks far better than the Tamiya 1/16 2A6..........much more detail and extra stuff on the turret...............you can probably convert this to full RC !!!!!!!!!!...........but you would need to attach this upper plastic chassis to the lower RC metal chassis, it would be an interesting project but only for the brave............ unfortunately the full metal lower chassis with 2 x 550 motors is around £550............ dear oh dear !!!!!!!!!!
@@istillusezune82 WOW THANKS.............that's a huge game changer........ yes i can see it at their toy fair...... My electronics never worked but sounded far better than the Henglong........ which sounded nothing like a Leopard...... i'm in a really good mood now........ lol.
1. How is this tank appear anymore 'boring' than a WWII tank? While the Leopard 2 has not had a chance to be part of a lot of great combat stories, I don't think it is less interesting to look at than most main battle tanks. 2. Why would the price be a "complete joke"? Those words suggest that the pricing will not be fair, which can be argued. One must keep in mind that each part in a 1/16 scale kit is roughly twice the length of that part in a 1/35 scale kit...AND roughly twice the width....AND roughly twice the height. So, in terms of amount of plastic, each part in a 1/16 scale kit has roughly EIGHT TIMES the volume of plastic of the part in a 1/35 scale kit. That alone will make the model a lot more expensive than the equivalent 1/35 scale equivalent kit. Last, one must also recognize that 1/16 scale kits will never sell as well as 1/35 scale kits, so all the costs of researching the subject, designing the parts, creating/printing instructions, making the molds, manufacturing, plus marketing & shipping the kits will be spread among fewer kits. That makes the price per kit higher than it would be for most 1/35 scale kits.
@@derekbaker3279 Look pal, if I think its a boring looking tank. Then that's my opinion. As to the price. Well, Andy never mentioned how much it was, and I cannot find it on his EU web site. Despite the fact that he stated that you could pre-order it now. But, I expect it will be a lot more than the other Das Werk 1/16 kits.
that is a day one buy for me, i hope this is just the start of more modern 1/16 tank releases
yes, the only old tank i like is the KT.
Thanks for sharing. Happy to see something that is NOT another Tiger I, Sherman, Panzer IV....
Would love a 1/16 Char 1 bis
Oh no! Why did i have to watch this film, now i have to have this?

It's incredible what can be made in plastic models...very nice
I would have went for a 2A4, this one? Not so much. An early Merkava or Abrams would have been nice. But the new 1/16 Pak 40 looks good.
Wild the most widely adopted modern mbt has only one up to date kit in 1/35😒
Outstanding.
A 1/16 model of the Merkava 4 would be great??Maybe??
Wow - so cool!! - Now you have to follow up with a modern US vehicle Andy 😉 Let´s have a Bradley IFV
Great work Andy!
Das Werk is going nuts! Great to see all the new 1/16 scale kits! Modern tanks aren't my cup of of tea, but that is a beautiful model!
Oh My God- that is massive. Looks great.

Nice kit but I’ll stick with my Tamiya 1/35 version. Nice that Andy provides something for everyone’s interests. Thanks Andy!
that looks like it is a scaled up Border models kit. which means I am buying one
I'll use one to convert my 1/16 Torro A6 RC model. Nice! Commander figure also, even better!
Very nice about time companies start doing modern armour
That is a HOOOOOOOOOOOGGGGGGEEEE kit!

Thanks for another great video Andy!
No insult intended, but I'll stick to 1/35 scale... There's more tank there than I have shelves. 😁
Three parts per track link, that looks manageable. We'll have to ask Tamiya to sell their cement in larger bottles, though.
The airbrush cleaner is the same stuff. I buy that and refill my bottle for much, much cheaper.
With this size. Anyone who are into RC could make this kit with the electronic parts, plus LED for the lights too.
Tamiya is releasing this same version as a RC kit.
Looks great. Why not add real rubber bands? Well, such a division of the gun barrel looks doubtful in 2025.
