    Thanks to Rosebud for mentioning having respect for those of us who are chronically ill. Not to say anyone’s experience with anything is not valid, but hearing pregnant women speak about how miserable they were, but knowing it’s temporary and there’s an end, always kinda produces some feelings in me, cuz for some of us who are chronically ill that’s our everyday. And even worse it’s invisible, so we’re not treated more kindly cuz we’re pregnant, we don’t get time off from work or assistance from others, many refuse to acknowledge or believe that we’re suffering and how severe it is. And we’re just expected to get through each day just like everyone else. And do everything everyone else does. It’s really horrible. So I appreciate that she thought to think of those of us in that scenario.

      TT should only add someone who has a lot of connections to famous people to have on the show as guests. Not sure if Rosebud has that.

    Love this ❤ again had my baby same time as Esther (have a 4mo old girl) so I feel so grateful I can come here and feel apart of a community when in this country like you all talked about postpartum is so nuanced and needs to be talked about in such a way-we live in multitudes, not just that its great or not great.

      Especially true when you're further apart in age. My sister is 10 years older.. She grew up with our dad being a normal guy. By the time I came around, he was a violent drunk.. She was out of the house by the time I was 8 so we had VERY different experiences.

    What made me reject the whole feminist movement is how angry they are towards motherhood and how they look down on women that decide to have children, and god forbid she wants to be a stay at home mom.

    • @emilyhoward6538
      @emilyhoward6538 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      What you’re describing isn’t feminism, it’s an over correction from patriarchy. Actual feminism is about the freedom of choice for women to do what they want to do whatever that may be.

    sooo genetic studies show that both nature and nurture have an equally important role in the child’s development. Your kid could have inherited genes that increase their likelihood of developing addiction/mental health disorders etc but these may not be expressed/activated unless the kid experiences heavy trauma in early childhood, severe stress and other environmental factors

    Esther thinking Nature over Nurture is concerning. There is no consensus but most psychologists currently feel it is not one or the other. Rather it’s both working in tandem. To think everything about a person formed from the start is just naive.

    Siblings all have their individual experiences, even within the same home. Family systems theory suggests every person in a family plays a distinct role.. The peacekeeper, the scapegoat, etc. My siblings and I all find the same stuff funny and have this core sarcasm and dark humor about us but we are all different. We are pretty far apart in age.. My oldest sister is 10 years older and in that time, our life changed so much. She was 17 when we lost everything and my dad became an abusive alcoholic.. I was only 7.
    Also - there was 5 kids for us too. They kept going until they got a boy. 4 girls, 1 boy. There was a boy who was stillborn before me, so they kept going.. Then had me, then my brother. He passed away at 22, about 10 years ago. It's just weird to not have a brother.. And i can't imagine for my mom and dad, losing their only son.
