Hey Spence, still love your show, play it at work on my speaker every day along with Locked On College Football, my second listen of the day. Quick thought going into tomorrow. More of a comment than a question but I was just watching a highlight reel of 2021 in preparation for my trip back to Autzen for this matchup tomorrow and one of the plays was a beautiful dart over the middle to a uniquely lanky looking fellow we now know as T-Ferg and it made me think both "Wow, really? I forgot T-Ferg played in this game!" and also "Wait, how did I know that was T-Ferg before they even announced the reception?! Is his profile just that unique?!" Yes. Yes it is and I expect to see it quite a bit next Tuesday when the next Ducks Vs. Them drops. Appreciate your work and Go Ducks!
Ohio States offense did not struggle against Iowa in the first half. They moved the ball very easily when they had it and fumbled. Iowa sat on the ball as long as they could.
I'll concede Dillon Gabriel when comparing will Howard but I feel like Ohio States receivers help make up the ground between them to where it's not as large of a gap as people make it out to be. Just my 2 cents. Been loving your content this week. Can't wait for the game. GO BUCKS!
Yeah, neither of these teams are remotely similar to the 2021 game. OSU has new O/D coordinators and Oregon has an entirely new staff. Both teams are significantly better than they were in 2021.
Building off your key #1: Ohio St's top tackler in the run defense is Latham Ransom who plays SAFETY. His avg depth of tackle is 5.2 yards... Ohio St. has been bringing the safety into the box to stop the run and they are able to do that because they haven't faced a legitimate deep ball threat. This is a tough challenge because Ohio St's DB's and pass rush are elite but the deep ball is going to need to be there to keep Ohio St. off the line and not bunched up. To be fair Oregon hasn't shown a legitimate deep ball threat and to win Oregon needs to show they can throw the ball down the field to keep safety's out of the box. In that same vein Sonny Styles is a beast in the gap so running into the A or B gaps is going to be TOUGH. Running off tackle especially outside zone is going to be key for James getting a big game.
Sharp, Informed and Intelligent commentary, as usual, Spencer. I want the Ducks to win. I fear that our "still gelling" Offensive Line will struggle opening enough holes against Ohio State's D-Line to establish a run game. If that happens, common sense tell us that it will place more pressure on the QB and the passing game. Just don't yet have the confidence that Dillon Gabriel can overcome this increased pressure. Again, want Oregon to win. Ohio State disrespected Oregon the last time that they played. That will not happen this time.
I hope every respects every tomorrow at and around this game, regardless of who wins. It's two great teams playing, and one great team will win and the other great team will lose. Hope no injuries. Go Ducks
I have been so worried about Dillon Gabriel throwing interceptions against 17:36 OHIO STATE. IF By some miracle he doesn't throw an interception, than I will be relieved 😌 and we should win. 🎉🎉🎉 Go Ducks Have a wonderful weekend, everyone.
Jim Knowles has been prepping for this offense. The defense has been playing vanilla. I like the defense a lot whether they force turnovers or not (which I am expecting 2-3 turnovers from Oregon)
Spencer! Thank you for addressing my question! So we know Oregon has a good D line (the best they've had for some time) and a ton of weapons. Do we think Gabriel has the chutzpah to drive these weapons effectively enough (based on what we've seen so far) to pull off the kind of big wins this team will have to get in order to achieve that elusive Natty? I know you've addressed his decision making and you believe he will clean things up, but do you also think the the O line will continue to improve and provide the kind of protection Gabriel will need in order to perform, especially against the big boys like tOSU? P.S. I am a fan of your analogies so I figured you might appreciate that "crow" eating one. P.P.S. My screen name was made for my dumb animations (that I never really post because I'm doing retro game creation right now).
I think so. DG lead Oklahoma to beat Texas last year and Texas went to the playoffs. Regarding the OLine they’ll keep getting better and were just named to the mid season honor roll for the Joe Moore award.
The Offensive Coordinator, Chip factor makes me nervous. Chip had the keys to the Lamborghini as HC at Oregon and did amazing things. He now has the keys to a NHRA funny-car quality team at OhioSt with all the blue chips. I love DLanning, he has just as quality players, and hope the Ducks win, but Im concerned at what Chip will bring to the table here. We need to play our absolute best sound defense of the season.
Go Ducks! There are two things-somewhat related to Ducks. I am interested in an analysis at some point perhaps today and end of season of performance of teams that travel more than one time zone. I am really seeing SEC Homers championing having 9-3 teams in the National Title Tournament. I do not believe any three loss team should be allowed into a tournament for the National Tournament. That third loss was their elimination. I easily see them arguing for a 9-3 Georgia over a 10-2 Big 12 Team because Georgia played a tougher. Probably true, but three losses. What are your thoughts on a Three Loss National Championship Team. For what it is worth-Ducks shouldn’t be in that tournament if they have three losses, no team should be. Go Ducks!
in the grand scheme it really doesn't matter who wins this game both these teams are going to go to the playoffs. As a matter of fact if one or both of these teams ended the regular season with 2 loses the will still make the playoffs. It will be a great game to watch but it really has no bearing on anything.
Oregon has to run the ball a lot. Oregon defense has to contain Ohio States run game. I’d be surprised if we actually shut down Ohios states run. If we do that would be amazing and we probably win. They have to make Howard throw and put pressure on him.
We’ll see if DG can avoid throwing picks. Have a feeling OSU will try and shutdown James and make DG beat them. Should be an exciting game. Go Ducks!!!
Iowa is 25th in total defense, Oregon is 10th… Iowa is not the team, nor the defense it was in the past. They have a good defense but that’s only in comparison to a god awful offense
If Dillon Gabriel holds the key to beating Ohio State don't you think they should take him to Home Depot to makes copies so that everyone on the team also has one?
Not only is OSU a veteran team, but helmet communication makes communication easier too. OSU is also used to bigger stadiums. This is a revenge game and a revenge season.
Just because they play in big stadiums doesn’t mean they are loud Oregons stadium is made for the noise too bounce out the south side of the stadium and down on to the field it’s different playing in Oregon
@@travisdavis6685Ohio State isn't worried about the noise of 50k fans or anything "bouncing" back onto the field ctfu that narrative is ridiculous. Penn States stadium super loud and OSU wins year after year

There is a rumor Jordan Burch was hurt in practice......
OSU had almost 200 yards of offense vs Iowa in the first half last week. Turnovers for them is why it was 7-0 at halftime

Speaking on Iowa, Ohio St is the first team in THREE YEARS to rush for more than 200 yards vs the Hawkeyes. Good luck stopping the two headed monster.
OSU 38-17. The runnuing gane goes nuts and the buxks open up tgeur defense. Been waiting for you guys. Go Bucks

The question is: Can Oregon get through Ohio State, Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Washington unscathed.
Ohio States offense did not struggle against Iowa in the first half. They moved the ball very easily when they had it and fumbled. Iowa sat on the ball as long as they could.
Another key to victory for Oregon, keep Gabriel off the ground. Ohio state has the highest sack percentage on all drop backs in the country at 12.5%

Ohio State’s defense in 2021 gave up 22 points per game and 374 yards per game since the 2021 team keeps getting brought up
