    Practical and candid content. Is underexposing slightly the same as exposing to the right? In-camera histograms (when shooting in RAW) reflect JPG images - true? Cheers!

      Oooh interesting, I'm actually not sure if the histogram is showing the tones from jpeg preview or the raw. I've never thought about that before!
      I'll have to look that up.
      Exposing to the right (i believe) is the opposite to what I'm talking about, probably better used in a dark situation as opposed to a bright daylit shot.
      If you're shooting at high iso for example, you don't want to be pushing your exposure too much in post, so you should optimise for a brighter exposure to get let noise.
      Eg. iso5000 with a good exposure will look better thant iso2500 pushed one stop to compensate.
      That's my understanding, if anyone else knows better I'd be interested to hear it!
      I think it's probably more of a dslr thing and less important now with how good current generation cameras are
