Great detector. If you turn its volume off and allow R8 Companion to play the audio, it will stop those single chirps on signals you want filtered out.
I love the video but you should really turn off that robotic-voice notification. Not talking about the one coming from the Uniden device itself but the other one that seems to speak before the Uniden device.
@@VideosfromNH I feel like you should mute that tbh, is there a way to mute it? If so, you should. Uniden R8 notifications are more than enough. I just want to hear the Uniden only from your videos, I am enjoying them but hate the companion app voice.
I'm sure there is. I don't hear it when driving. For some reason, the live audio is very low, but it is fine in the recording. As far as the audio in the video, I'm giving the full experience. Close to default settings, detector audio even at a traffic light, companion robotic voice. I can look and see if there is another voice to select.
Question: Does the app alert if another app is in the foreground.... ie on a motorcycle, running Waze, can't hear R8 because of helment, but will phone app alert via BT headphones when another app is in the foreground?
Can either of those result in tickets? I am also in new hampshire and just got an R8 too. Those cop cars coming in from the other lane makes mine go crazy, is the LEO actually measuring speed? is this all automated?
I don’t get the point of using the app. Everything is on the screen of the detector. I can understand using it to change settings…but leaving your phone open to use it…dumb
If you have a loud stereo like me, the app cuts the volume and speaks ka band ahead through the speakers. I wouldn’t hear it otherwise. Plus I use the shortcut app on my iPhone so when it Bluetooth’s to my stereo it automatically opens the companion app so I don’t have to think about it. It’s saved me many times. Many many times

I'm going for real world experience. As close to out of the box as possible since most people will use those at first.
Thank you
Welcome!

I don't know.

First one yes. The second is a construction sign. More like watch your speed. LEOBot was just a joke.

If you don't want to use it, then don't use it. The R8 can be standalone and work fine.
The app does all the filtering that the detector doesn’t do as well. It marks and silences them. The app is the best addition for an R8 or R4.
