And I would love to know who composed that piece. It was all the time portrayed as the " super hard to play, so badly hard your fingers tied in knots and your face turned colors" song and my piano and music teacher played it as a kid. Won awards internationally. Kinda ashamed I forgot but I abandoned music and lost a lot of knowledge
I feel like WB cartoon wastes time with the "Franz Liszt? Never heard of him" and shooting the audience jokes, whereas T&J get straight into the music and do a better job of matching music to animation.
The way youre describing it, it doesnt seem like youre a die hard fan if WB didn't do there whole poking fun of famous/legendary characters like Franz Liszt then it wouldn't be WB or Bugs Bunny, its suppose to be funny. if you wanted a music video then you should know a cartoon like Looney Tunes isn't gonna give you that.
I am a huge fan of WB. Both cartoons are of a very high quality, but while I feel the joke of Bugs shooting the audience member falls flat (and not to mention out of character for Bugs) the Tom & Jerry cartoon actually out Looney-Tunes Looney Tunes. It felt like a classic I.Freleng short with his knack of matching the music to the actions. I don't know why you said I should watch a music video when matching music to animation is a staple of some of the greatest WB shorts such as the Rabbit ot Seville for instance. It's just in this case the T&J short did it better in my view. Also the Tom & Jerry dynamic just works better than Bugs and his rival here. They could have improved the WB cartoon a little by bringing back A.Flea to be the antagonist as that would have made a bit more sense that this random pair.
I love with Tom and Jerry the way that Tom is just trying to play music and Jerry is harassing him and it all goes to the tune of the music, it just flows so well.
About the shown part you're right. But earlier on in that cartoon you can see that it begins with Tom playing the piano Jerry was sleeping in and hence got waken up, then Jerry sees Tom playing and enjoying this while acting as a conductor. If this doesn't count as a harassment, then Tom did the first harassment.
Tom bothered Jerry first. Jerry was just enjoying the music and Tom started messing with him. (This is actually a really weird thing I've noticed on the internet. A LOT of people seem to think Jerry usually starts the conflict, and that just isn't true. I have no idea why that seems to be so widely believed.)

One of my favourite memories was attending the very first (it was actually Bugs' 50th - shhh! - birthday, and 'he' was accompanied by a huge 50+piece orchestra. When I was little, my father 'only listened to classical', and - though I didn't run out and buy the discs, I DI D learn to appreciate it, and a HUGE part of this...LEARNING, was thanks to the 'rabbit'. Bugs' influenced me, and I'm certain MANY others, who'd never have otherwise been exposed to classical, and other musical styles which weren't 'au courrant'. A HUGE thanks goes to the music maestro of Warner Bros. The man behind the rabbit, the one and ONLY Mr Carl Stalling. Cartoons of today are NOTHING like they were, and HAD been - they were made for ALL ages. Yes, their definitely was some humour in the Loony Toons, et al, which was there FOR adults, but, as a kid, it didn't mean a thing. Today's (pathetic excuse at) cartoons are things which literally are so 'safe', so sanitised, that - unless one's literally 2, who'd WANT to watch it? Bugs, and ALL the greats (I can't name them all) were, and ALWAYS will be for kids. And teens. And adults. And last, and NOT the least; seniors (we're all gonna be one, one day. Might as well laugh). I have Hungarian Rhapsody on my iPhone, and when it plays, it brings a smile to my face, as I think back, and imagine 'Number 2''.

I think this song was a major influence for Freddie Mercury in writing Bohemian Rhapsody. Both songs transcend being a song and turns more into an experience. They both have a similar feel. Highs and lows. Fast and slow and everything changing from one beat to the next and using moments of silence after thunderous music. Both are masterpieces.

Yes indeed, no classical music theme will ever stand the test of time like ol' #2. My favorite example here would probably be either "Rhapsody Rabbit" or the audio clip from "Daffy's Rhapsody". And Y'know, now that there's a cartoon based off that song, you could update this with video footage from DR.

I think this song was a major influence for Freddie Mercury in writing Bohemian Rhapsody. Both songs transcend being a song and turns more into an experience. They both have a similar feel. Highs and lows. Fast and slow and everything changing from one beat to the next and using moments of silence after thunderous music. Both are masterpieces.
