The twins born 87 days apart is an interesting story actually. One twin had a medical issue and needed to be born early to save her and mom so they did a c-section on one but left the other for 3 months

I feel as though the pineapple on pizza “for” argument missed a vital point: fondue. Hot cheese + fruit and often bread, people have been eating it for a long time (idk about 3000BC but it’s been around a minute.) ALSO, I remembered kebabs exist. Fruit + cheeses and meats. Fruit in savory meals exists and is delicious.
Chef here! Fondue was originally created by the Swiss as a side dip for bread. It wasn't until it was brought to the US in around the 60's that pineapple was used in the dish. Traditionally the only fruit used in it would've been apples or pears. Pineapple with cheese by itself is delicious when served cold (same with grapes and cheese, apples and cheese, pears and cheese etc.), but when you start baking it in with bread and tomato, it's really a terrible combination!
Joe McFarlane even as a chef, you should know that a “terrible combination” is relative to the diner’s taste buds. I can consider 60 years a long time, in terms of people eating pineapple in fondue. Thanks for the info.
Nope, taste can be subjective yes, but doesn't mean it's within good standards of cooking. I'm sure there's people out there who like chicken and chocolate as a combination, or shrimp milkshakes. Just because something can be done doesn't mean it should, like Alex said 😉
