Hey brother, I see you have a new channel here that must be amazing. I was wondering if you had done a previous video on the first 2 verses of this chapter. I can tell a little bit where you're going with this through the first 15 min. Do you realize that if you say you can tell who is saved by viewing their outward works only, you would be deceiving many. I'm sure you're familiar with 1 Cor 5 where Paul writes to the Saints in Corinth about a man caught in incest. In this chapter Paul says no one has even recognized or grieved this horrific sin, by a saved Christian. So he is obviously very disappointed with them. He goes on to make it clear his body will be turned over to Satan so that the flesh will be destroyed and that the spirit may be saved. You cannot lose your salvation. 1 John's epistle was written to no specific audience, we know it was believers though. However John's ministry was to the Jews. John is clear in the beginning that he writes this that no one sin, but if a man does sin, he has an advocate....... So knowing this, he then goes on in chap 3 and ventures to say that whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin because his seed remaineth in him and he cannot sin. So John either totally contradicted himself or he is talking about the Holy Spirit that is the one that cannot sin. Now we know that the Holy Spirit is sealed in us until the Day of Redemption so how can we lose our salvation? Simply put, we cannot. To say you can look at a persons outward works and judge them saved or unsaved is a heretical doctrine called Lordship Salvation and it is also the Calvinist view as well, both of these are separating the church big time. John is clearly talking about these teachers who say they have no sin, when we all have sin. Our flesh only becomes perfect when we are redeemed. So to say we have to keep the commandments or we are not saved is simply not the case, it is to keep fellowship among the brethren and God. Daily repentance is another false doctrine, did Jesus pay it all, or only some? John writes in verse 12 of chap 2 that your sins are forgiven, and there are other verses saying all sins are forgiven, pretty sure you know them. Why are you repenting daily when it is a one time event, you have a change of mind about sin. Hopefully you find this edifying, I am not here to accuse, but trying to avoid people judging Christians and telling them they aren't good enough and hell bound. There are many people who were saved a long time ago and were grief stricken or had horrific tragedy strike and they fell away from God. Do you think these people are not saved anymore? I highly recommend reading the parable of the Prodigal Son to make this comparison of those who fall away. Dearly beloved I go in peace.
