I hate to be negative, but it appears Sides is either a really crappy coach or she's using CC to manage the points spread. I'd think certain sports centered activities have been making a killing on the Fever losses this year with the huge uptick in new viewership and new CC/Fever fans. To keep it going, the Fever will have to win another game pretty soon. The Fever won't be allowed to win this season, but they'll be allowed to play just good enough to keep the betting active and the suspicions below the radar. I'm basing my observation on Sides' rotation scheme. She puts CC in just long enough to close the gap or get a small lead, then immediately pulls her out. She never let's the Fever get into a rhythm or a streak. Why is Sides the only coach I've ever seen that complains when her team shoots long 3s? Maybe it could cause the spread to open up too quickly? She prefers her team duking it out in the paint for 2s. It gives the appearance the team is trying. I've seen others besides CC hit 3s, but Sides quickly corrals them back to the paint. It appears Sides is not trying to win, but just keep the entertainment factor up. And many folks know that as long as the end scores are really close, the gullible will keep hope their team can win the next one and just keep betting on the Fever or CC. But, then again, like I said in the beginning, Sides could just be the crappiest coach in sports ever and needs to be replaced.

Good catch. I was wondering why her college coach retired this year. It seems this was in the works. Lisa Bluder and her assistant Jenni Fitzgerald retired. Bluder has a well-earned reputation she is a great coach. I hope that she gets the accolades that she earned if that does happen. I think the team will like her and if she gets that spot, I hope the public understands that she earned that spot because of her record. She is a winning coach. and she too will have an adjustment in the pros if that happens.

If Christy Sides can't put a plan together to protect her greatest asset, then what is she doing? She hasn't been able to set up any screens that punish Caitlin's over-aggressive defenders. The Fever's biggest problem is on defense. They don't rotate in the paint, at all. Once an opponent drives the lane and beats the Fever defender, it's a score. They need to help / rotate and force a dish off pass and a lower percentage shot. This looks like Bulls under Jim Boylan right after Scott Skiles was fired. This lack of team defense is a coaching / scheme problem. If they fix this - and prevent just one or two scores per quarter, they'd be competitive in every game.

Yeah...... The fact that the Fever has the level of talent they have and are getting stomped across the league shows that Sides has no idea how to build a strategy tailored to the players she has. She has one strategy and can't adapt based on the strengths and weaknesses of her players. She wants every player to be a 9/10 in all aspects of the game. Shooting, defense, ball handling, passing. CC was allowed to do whatever she wanted at Iowa by her coach. Now, she's not allowed to do as she pleases, and she's playing with ALL talented players, plus her coach now doesn’t like her very much. Honestly, I don’t like Sides. I want CC to succeed. I can't wait for the game when she hits 5 or more Logo 3s and 5 regular 3s!! It's coming.

If you ever had a young or middle-aged supervisor like that, you know what it's like. They seem cynical and sarcastic or passive toward you. Stems from jealousy and resentment maybe over how they didn't get a break early in their own careers. And worse if they came from a small town.
I think the coach needs to be fired because she's not letting Clark play her game It's like coach ferrence's son getting fired the Iowa Hawkeyes coach son got fired because he didn't do his job
To have more wins than losses, players and coaches should be compatible. Coach Sides is not compatible with her team. Sides must be fired!
