U also have The Alvis House just on the other side of The RCI…It’s like a prison/halfway house…Right beside The Alvis House is The VA
Just a few days ago we had a super nice guard killed by an inmate 😢

I've lived in Fayette County my whole life and every time my family and I or my HS MB came this way I always wondered what that was. It's nice to find out what it is.

Do a series of all the institution cemeteries in Ohio. London is one of the oldest, Ohio pen where hundreds are buried after the fire, even camp chase in Columbus. The state of Ohio has many cemeteries they are responsible for. I found it unsettling the prison cemeteries are not marked properly. I&E funds are supposed to pay for markers……….

London is not that far from me. I will check it out because of OSP connections to OSR in Mansfield. There is an Asylum/Prison cemetery in Columbus that I have done a couple of photo sessions in it, and I am planning to go film that one. Stay tuned!

@@keenervisionincorporated2079I did contract work with both Chillicothe and London Correctional. London’s cemetery is actually on the grounds of the prison, so it might be difficult to access. It’s off of Old Springfield Road and is fenced in, although not with a big barbed wire one, but I wouldn’t just go rolling up to it. I had an employee (not a guard) tell me that unclaimed bodies were buried in cardboard boxes.
One thing I did have access to was the visitation room on death row. I didn’t have to be escorted unless I was carrying tools. That’s in an unused cell block, and from the front door you have to pass through six locked gates and five checkpoints. To leave the entire area and go back to the entry sallyport, the guard actually had to run their finger down the picture on your CCI ID. They do this because an inmate almost got out by pasting a different picture on his ID.
In both institutions I had access to the honor camp. Honestly the guys there were very respectful to me. Some would even hold conversations, although depending on the guard on duty, they would be shooed away. One guy at London had been in for over 20 years and he claimed he’d never had a prison meal; apparently he had a ton of money and family would send it so he could eat out of the vending machines in the honor dorm.

RCI & Chillicothe both sit on 104, just across from each other. I hated that they had the elementary school in the prison backyard pretty much

I have done more research and still cannot find any more information. The older stones here are pretty well marked with names and dates, and that one qualifies as an older stone.

@@keenervisionincorporated2079 I saw it back in the 90's. It's pretty cool. My mom is a nurse and she taught psychiatric nursing at hocking college. Her clinical was at the mental health center. I've been in that building many times. She had an office there. My best friend from high school was a patient there.

An inmate shiuld be scared if they dont have any family is all i gotta say or scared if your family has something to gain by your death

  • @Redstar-x5l

I do know at least 99% of them are unclaimed bodies. There is 1 that the family claimed, however (I could be wrong) the family couldn’t pay for proper burial or funeral even so the state went ahead and buried him there. At least that’s what I was told.
