I wanna clear up some air in here.
I did this swap and all the wiring meticulously in this car. 40 hrs of labor went into it. One of the first swap cars done.
The speedo needs a Dakota digital box to fix it. Johnathan budget was done and eating up more so we skipped it.
The heater worked and ac worked after it left my shop. So why those dont work I dont know. I know he has issues with a compressor from former calls to him.
How much was it total?? I am trying to decide to turbo it or just 5.0 swap it
Pv2 Serpa jon has a video on his build and how much it cost, he uploaded it some time ago tho. Hope this helps you with your swap :) good luck!
Adam Lolno no i just traded it in and picked up a 2013 boss 302 with the road runner engine and the silver key and red key package 👀 go check out my TH-cam i got plenty of videos on the new car
Now you can tow with it😂
lankeycanadian suhdude but it's a truck V8. Those things can tow shit.
@@ilovemanunited6179 it's the same motor different rear ends and gearing help with towing along with suspension and a frame for it
Surprisingly I like this car. I shouldnt but Doug Demoro has worn off and i like its quirks
The F150 coyotes are a great bang for the buck, especially when you swap in Mustang GT intake cams.
Lower compression truck motors are asking for boost procharger needed
The current gen truck and mustang engines are the same CR, the 1st gens are different by half a point, not exactly begging for anything at 10.5:1.
Awesome video man! Had a good time meeting up with you and the crew! Time for boost? 🤔
Johnathan Harder never in a million year would I have thought your mustang would be on his channel. I’ve been subscribed to you since i seen the video of you and your friends with the bmw’s.
About to hit 300k miles on my 2005 3V and still running smooth.
lucky you! mine's 40k hoping it will make it to at least 100k in one piece :P

@@edwardsteinjolt3720 I guess its how Daivd said, it's a hit or miss with these motors. But I haven't had any issues with the spray
Last time I was this early.......
Know what, screw this, it’s been done to death, I’m just happy to be here
I prefer the look of the first gen S197, but I have to agree with the Raxiom tails.. Like you said, they make the car much more modern. But I like the power plant of the '11 and newer. This car is the perfect hybrid. Just needs a compound turbo setup and it'll be finished in my mind lol
How about a 6.2 truck engine swap from a old junk yard raptor?
They make a little more torque than a coyote but are 200lbs heavier. Huge iron block
There's a dude that swapped the 5.4l to a 6.2l in a 04 F150, look up his channel
I had an ‘07 with a GT500 swap, 6 speed trans, bigger blower, meth injection, 755 rear wheel.. what a crazy car that was..
The Car Crazy Guy .. I bet it was crazy.. You injected crystal meth into your engine j/k lol
Pretty much the best engine for the S197 platform. You can get decent power with a 3v, but where it caps out the coyote just gets started!
Who has seen the truck-swapped Corvette that Cleetus got from auction?
I just like they found the original owner and they went into the how and why's of that
do a face reveal for 1 mil subcribers
Hey guys! David here for another video! But the truth is....
I AM HOW TO BASIC
and then all of a sudden he goes to Florida to review Adam's skyline or his s15
Daviddd, you've gotta do a review over a 2005-2007 Saleen S281 Extreme or SC!
Thanks Johnathan. We appreciate you bringing the car all the way up to Georgia. Obviously you had some issues but you made it all that way without running over any crowds, joggers or pedestrians. Well done.
Always had a soft spot for the 2005-2009 mustangs, dope video again david!
The truck Coyote also has a different intake manifold, different cam profile, and different exhaust manifolds vs a Mustang Coyote. The truck setup is made for more low end torque and make great street car engines. We see Gen 1 Coyotes make 430-440whp with good headers, intake, and a custom tune. The newer iteration Coyote we see put down closer to the 470-480whp range with full bolt ons.
While each new generation is technically superior to the ones that came before it, with a few basic changes I think the 05-09 body is the most beautiful Mustang built with the exception of the 1969 fastback models.
Easily the ugliest in my opinion, I loved the 03 04 cobra looks, everything else for the mustang has just looked bloated until recently
James Pickering Hey plenty of people loved Vanilla Ice and Justin Bieber too....you can like what you like.
James Pickering only a Sith would make such a negatively absolutist statement....the dark side is strong in this one.
I'm a retro fan all the way David! I own an 03 Terminator(650whp). I follow John's site so I know all the hardships he has endured to get here with his stang. I think it's a genuine beauty and one of a kind!
I have a 2008 Mustang GT and I absolutely love it. I love the retro look they have. Good video bro!!
Love the whole concept of the f-150 coyote engine on the mustang, great alternative swap for v6 mustangs of the time
3v hit and miss? First time I’ve heard that lol. I’ve had 2 of them and never had any problems. I have a kb 510whp 3v and it gives me zero problems
some people may not like that front end.. but i LOVE it. loving that hood.
My favorite gen stang! What a bad ass car. MERICA!
ky malone That's a quote David almost always says when driving American V8s. Don't know why you gotta bring Trump into it. Your talking to the most un political person in the world lol.
terrace Robinson To each thier own. I have always hated them at first looking atvtge regular v6 models. Until I saw what you can make them look like, you can make them look so mean and aggressive.
terrace Robinson interesting, I think they’re the best looking ones to date with the exception of the ‘69 fastbacks. Basically Mustangs were ugly from 1971-2004. Peaked from 05-09, still looked really good from 2010-14, and they’re still good looking from 15 forward but not as good looking as the S197’s.
Jedi391 I always loved the look of the foxbodies. Probably will be my next purchase.
Appreciate it man thank you for doing a video about this car, it’s amazing 😉
Love the 3v body style s197, awesome review as always man!
This is really neat! Would really really like to see you review a new edge with the 5.4 2v or 4v v8.... the 2v conversion is pretty common... most say its stupid same hp however the torque differential is MASSIVE and the powerband is much larger. Curious your opinion on one of those builds
I liked the retro style and I drove an 07 brand new on a test drive and I wasn’t overly impressed. I can easily tell the power is that much better with that swap. It looks like it could be easily done by anyone considering almost all of the 4.6 stuff can still be used, which we all know saves on the outright cost investment.
No ac or defrost the speedometer not working plus the fuel gauge what possibly worse can happen
Dude lives in Florida so pretty sure he doesn't care, if it was mine I wouldn't either cause I'd just do burnouts and shit.
Been wanting to see a coyote in that body style. I love the modern retro body style. Very good looking car
I like the 99-04 body style Mustang. That's as new as I would ever go, for a Mustang anyway. That's just me.
I agree, my brother had a 02 at the age of 16 he spun the tires off that thing !!
They’re not my favorites but the good thing for you is that they’re so cheap now you could get multiple colors to fit your mood each day.
This is probably my favorite thing you have reviewed lol. It has so much personality
Great video as always bud. Keep up the excellent work.
Now that's a truck engine swap I approve of!
I was thinking of doing the same thing but with the 5.4 v8.
Razer Dash Has those engines are weak, if you’re talking about the 2v’s.
@@kingstyle7314 2v isn't worth it, find a 3v at least, they are super cheap but breath a lot better. If you have the room a 4v 5.4 is best or if weight is an issue a Mark 8 4v is good.
Time to get that thing buttoned up. And here I was waiting to get you to review my 3v swapped 04 GT lol
Ayeeeee I didn’t realize you posted this!!! I love his mustang
It's still 80hp more than the 3v, I approve!
This build is sweet! Total sleeper! Daves reviews are always stellar!
Jonathan’s channel is crazy 🔥
“Compression ratio is 10:5 when the original mustang coyote is 11:1”
F150 5.0...10:5, the lowest compression ratio ever ;)
Would be nice to see how it would react with at the time vortec chargers make it a true retro supercharged engine.
Nice David didn’t realize his mustang had a truck coyote engine!! Great review!!
Glad I got to see Johnathan's stang here, it has gone through so much in just 2018 itself
Jonathan is a genius he cracked the code for people trying to coyote swap their 3V mustang or even a 2V mustang on a budget because you can get truck coyote out of the F-150 for SOOO cheap compared to the coyote engine out of the mustang thanks to Jonathan we're about to see more coyote Swapped 3V's and 2V's mustangs
Time breaker Bardock people have been doing this for years now. Idk why he's acting like this is a new revolutionary idea. People also do truck coyotes in foxbodys.
@@bunnell6335 because most Normal people have a false notion that it takes lots of money to coyote swap a older mustang common people not into mustangs or just starting to learn and jump into the platform had this false notion they had to shell out 10K for a let's say a 2017 mustang coyote crate engine when you can go to your local junkyard and pull the motor out of a F-150 and you got yourself a a coyote for like 1-4K ya get me
I agree....if I never see a LS swapped Mustang again that is fine with me! Use LS for boat anchor and start swapping those Coyote truck engines and go much faster with boost!
@@YoBoyNero yeah I've been watching Foxbody Media and they've been doing this for several years now, you can build a new edge with a truck coyote for around 10K. That's with the harness and everything with it. The 2V hoses and tranny bolts up right to the coyote.
Ive always wanted to see a triton v10 swapped mustang. I think that would be cool. Has anyone ever seen one?
Someone's already done it.. like a whiiile back. Hes at mustang week all the time. Black with green accents new edge with the lighting SC motor. Sorry I cant remember his IG

I love this video because its Jonathan's mustang (I love Johnathans channel. The best ever)
I like the retro body style but then I own one.
Why do all these swaps not have anything other than the motor working? Is there no solutions to get the dash and accessories working?
Its called a work in progress..nothing to do with bums. You do a little at a time as you can.. hence a PROJECT CAR..
For those cars, no. But with a coyote swap in a foxbody, you can get everything working and they sell digital dashes made for the swap. There are solutions but it's just a lot of custom wiring and figuring stuff out.
I love the swap, love the car as is too...Thanks for the video. I wish I could do that to my 03 F150
Watching this cause I think the f150 coyote engine is going to be the next LS, when it comes to swaps. I would like to do one soon to learn :)

I like the idea of using a F-150 coyote motor for the swap. Good stuff! 🤙
I don’t get why people have street cars with no heat or ac, obviously if you only track a car take out everything for weight, etc. but I laugh my ass off when I hear, “yea I wanted to spend the money elsewhere”
Some people can live w/o it, especially in more temperate climates. I'm not one of them though.
Don’t know if it’s true but I saw somewhere in the comments a guy that helped build this, he said that the ac must have gone out because it was working when it left the shop
To be clear I'm not saying that putting off the repair till you have more money is dumb. I'm broke af too after modifying my car 😁 but my buddy has a 330i e46 with no heat and no AC 'becausehe wantsa racecar' we live in Chicago so we can have extreme seasons thus my opinion that climate control is a must on a daily driver
My ac went out in 110 degree Texas heat. Got use to it and forgot about it lol, until it rained and I nearly died of a heat stroke cause the windows were up... or possibly that exhaust leak I never fixed.
Idk why ppl think 4:10’s are a good idea without drag radials
Interesting swap! just curious as to how much a swap like this would set you back? really cool video! I had an 06 GT, I would consider owning another 05 to 10 if I could do the swap. The 13 GT/CS has been my favorite to own, so far though.
I’ve been wanting to do this to my ‘66. Haven’t found any wrecked Coyotes though
Swapping a truck engine into a manual coupe... Genius!
It's literally the same motor besides .5 less compression, and slightly different intake cams. You're dumb
@@GBPackerFan15 nice explanation. Did anyone say it's a different motor? Did anyone mention any specefic vehicles? Nope.
You just sound like a moron saying truck motor into a manual coupe. The manual coupe comes with basically the same motor
man that thing sounds scary. awesome car :)
Thank You Johnathan!
Do all that and won’t even rig up the heater hoses? Gotta be a crude swap
ill say it for those who don’t, i appreciate the grind keep going
Love the mustang videos 🤘🏽

I got 410 gears in my 86 mustang when I finish restoring it u should do a car review
Glad to see the car I built still doing work. Wonder why the heat stopped working though
This is my favorite mustang video review
Loved this review. Big fan of the s197 and the sn95 new edge generations
Mustang by far have the ugliest, most plastic-based interior.
Look for the s197 leather and wood upgrade, they literally made it look like a 69 interior all the way, no more cheap stuff, just the best rococo!!!
Like it. Love swaps. They always perform so much better.
You would upload more mustangs lol, I love seeing the variety in both the v6 and v8 stangs
2016 and up. 98 and down or nothing
Jonothan Huettner 1964.5-1970, 2005-2014.....those are the real Mustangs. 2015 forward something different but still cool. Everything else, let’s just pretend those weren’t called Mustangs.
@@Jedi391 the only reason. I like smurf, is because thatdudeinblue is a cool dude in blue. The body is ugly, the dash is ugly. My brother in-law has a 06, I hate it. The new edge 99's are better than 05 to 14. Even if the power increased every model. I'll even drive a 98 v6. It's a reliable and easy beginner project car. But that's my opinion and I appreciate yours. Even if I don't like it.
Jonothan Huettner As you said everyone has their own opinion. Every succeeding generation is undeniably a better car from a technical point of view, faster, better handling, and even interior quality. Then there are those intangibles that turn purely on personal preference, for me nothing looks better or sounds better then a properly done 05-09 (accept for the sound of a GT350). For you it sounds like the new edge and that’s okay.
@@Jedi391 dude in blue asked what we thought.. you're not David. Everything after 98 are ugly and don't make me wanna buy them. I was thinking finally a decent looking mustang with the 18s. Also I don't care about handling, a GT badge or technology. Exhaust Sound ,style and Bluetooth is simply all you need.
But bro no more mustang videos. Your saturating your channel and i love your channel bro. But then again i gotta probably look at it from your point of view you really love mustangs
Marcus Withers A lot of his viewers love mustangs because well smurfstang is the reason the channel is what it is. Me personally I could see him drop a mustang review every weeek and I'd be stoked lol but I am a ford guy.

The more Mustang videos the better, that’s why I subscribed. Just don’t watch the Mustang videos if you’re not interested.
I like the alterations that they made to the version after this one so 2011 I own a 2001 though v6 but its a good commuter never major problems just typical maintenance
That bit where you shift into 3rd and while you change gears the car veers a little to the left is the EXACT reason why I can’t do live axles😂 thing was pointed straight until you’re not in gear then it decides to turn by itself
This thing was super sketch.
Thanks for watching!
Lol, I was expecting a 5.4 swap.
05-10 had a 3v you said 05-09
ThatDudeinBlue I gotta give u a thumbs down bro . You reviewed plenty of mustangs with different set ups which is great but why would u review another mustang with a 5.0 ? The truck engine is the same ! With a lower compression ratio! Smh 🤦♂️
@@THEREAL_GZUS Compression ratio isn't the only difference. The Camshafts are different, both exhaust and intake, along with the tuning of when the CAMS come on.
The truck motor comes stock with exhaust manifolds, whereas the mustang comes with short headers. Of course, this guy has long tubes.
I own an F150 (RCSB) and a Mustang both with the 5.0. The character of the motor is totally different in the two vehicles. Just the cam change makes a huge difference.
Very easy to get confused cause i also forget the 2010 new body style still had the 3v.@@karlhopkins713
